Absolutely beautiful location and a lovely hotel. The staff are very attentive, and able to answer every need and question. If you're looking for an action packed holiday, this is not the place, instead you can make use of the spa, pools, and relaxing atmosphere. The shuttle service to the beach or town is incredibly helpful and prompt and we never waited more than 10minutes. Breakfast was great, with lots of choice and gluten free options. Dinner is disappointing and not worth the money - I would definitely recommend booking bed and breakfast and using the shuttle service to have dinner in the town, where there is plenty to choose from and a far better price!

Stunning setting overlooking the smallest town on Ischia, Lacco Ameno. Cuisine, people who offer outstanding service and it goes on. Special mention to Tomazso, who cares for guests' needs around the swimming pool. Regular complimentary shuttles to the town. Heavenly.

We had a lovely time in San montano this week. The hotel is absolutely beautiful especially the thermal pools and the views! The rooms are spacious and reception, concierge and pool staff very polite. The shuttle service they offer to the beach, town and port is great: the drivers are all excellent, polite and very pleasant. There are a few things that need improving: 1. Food- food at pool bar is substandard and very expensive- Quality needs to be improved. The breakfast could have more variety of fruits- I thought it was more in line with 4 star hotel than 5... 2. They provide complimentary water in the room for first night only. I found this unusual as whenever I stay at 5 star hotels water is provided daily.

Spent 5 nights here last week. Amazing hotel with spectacular views over the sea and beach and hills. Food was brilliant and the staff were very polite and helpful. As its on a hill there was a complimentary shuttle to the town below. Hotel was splenidly decorated and quiet. A great place to get away and relax with 7 pools some thermal. Views from pools were great. Highly recommend this as a getaway from it all. Only issue was poor wifi but learnt to chill without using.

This is a stunningly located hotel. The views are impressive, abundance of friendly helpful staff, immaculately clean and outstanding pool facilities. What more could one ask. Well, there were some niggles and while one could live with them it would be better if they were dispensed with. The act of charging for water (albeit you received a complementary bottle on arrival) was odd and even odder was the threat of a 50€ fine if one brought one's own alcohol on to the site. The restaurant firmly deterred diners from arriving too early by not opening the doors until opening times, the site of guests queuing outside was not, in my opinion, appropriate for a 5 star hotel. The strangest niggle of all was when it came to paying the final bill at checkout, I was overcharged mistakenly by 15€ which I failed to pick up at settlement However my eagle-eyed wife spotted it when I returned to the room so I duly went back to the concierge and he was able to confirm their error. However he said that it would be 'complicated' to return the money but he would make sure he would deduct it from the bill on a future stay. Now that really is a first. I was left with the impression he could not be bothered but what the hell it was only 15€, just under the price of a gin and tonic. My reaction may have been a bit different if it had been 150€ overcharge. So you see, despite being surrounded by such superb facilities, good food, such great service it is the fine detail which can taint the experience
