Cheeca Lodge & Spa

We visited Cheeca Lodge with my husband and our 9-year-old son, and we absolutely loved our stay! The property is beautiful, with lush tropical grounds that make you feel like you’re in paradise. There was so much for our family to enjoy, and we loved how much the resort had to offer without even needing to leave the property. One of our favorite activities was fishing off the pier. We really appreciated that fishing rods and bait were included, making it so easy and fun for our son. We also loved riding bikes around the property and taking advantage of the kayaking. There was something special about being able to enjoy all of these activities together in such a beautiful setting. A special thank-you to Jessica at the front desk, who was absolutely incredible to work with! She went above and beyond to help us extend our trip because we were having such a wonderful time and didn’t want to leave. Her kindness and willingness to help truly made our experience even more memorable. Cheeca is a fantastic family-friendly resort, and we made so many great memories during our stay. We would highly recommend it to other families looking for a relaxing tropical getaway with plenty of activities to enjoy together. We can’t wait to come back!

Every single person working there treated us like we were royalty. The facility is luxurious, the garden walk at night with the tiki torches and waterfalls was beautiful and relaxing. The balcony tub overlooking the ocean was stunning. The pools were perfect, atmosphere, cleanliness,and water temperature, plus you could get poolside service for food and drinks. Big shout out to Jessica, she went above and beyond at check in and the next day to make sure everything was special for us. We are looking forward to going back when we can stay longer.

Went for a wedding. This is a five star resort that I feel I am generously giving a 3 star review. I witnessed managers/supervisors treat their staff poorly on more than one occasion, this does not sit well with me.

This was our first time back to Cheeca since the ownership change. The property and rooms didn’t seem to be as well maintained as in the past. We had a leaking faucet a sliding door that didn’t lock and a tv remote that didn’t work. We reported this to the front desk and all that was addressed was the TV remote. The dock/pier was great as always and the location is hard to beat. Hopefully they are planning on renovating the rooms in the near future.

Disappointing Experience at Cheeca Lodge — Poor Service, Missing Property, and Unprofessional Staff For a resort that positions itself as a luxury destination and charges accordingly, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and hospitality. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Cheeca Lodge left me extremely disappointed. First, my Melin bucket hat went missing and I believe it was stolen. When I raised the issue, nobody had apparently “seen” it. I understand that things go missing, but the lack of concern or meaningful assistance was disappointing, especially at a property of this caliber. What bothered me even more was an unpleasant encounter with a pool employee who apparently decided I was doing something wrong. I had a YETI dry bag with me — not a cooler — but this employee seemingly assumed I was bringing outside alcohol to the pool. Rather than simply approaching me and asking a question, she went so far as to involve security, who performed one of the least inconspicuous drive-bys I’ve ever witnessed. It was painfully obvious what they were doing, and frankly, insulting. For the record, I wasn’t sneaking in alcohol. I was happily purchasing the resort’s approximately $25 cocktails, just like everyone else. The assumption that I was somehow violating resort policy, followed by what felt like retaliatory treatment from an employee, was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. There’s a difference between enforcing resort policies and making paying guests feel like suspects. At Cheeca Lodge’s price point, guests should expect attentive service, respect, and a staff that knows how to handle situations with discretion and common sense. Instead, I left with a missing personal item, an unpleasant interaction with staff, and the feeling that hospitality was the last thing on anyone’s mind. Beautiful property, but a luxury resort is only as good as the people running it. Based on this experience, Cheeca Lodge has a lot of work to do.
