Cheeca Lodge & Spa

Honestly, so disappointed to have to write this review. After twenty years of staying here for fishing once or twice a year, and having numerous other family members or friends stay here, we have decided to stop coming to the Cheeca. Over the years, the price has crept up while the service and facilities have declined. The general indifference of most of the staff along with declining appearance and general lack of effort to accommodate guests has forced us to decide not to come back. We will make sure our many family and friends who stay here understand our decision. We are open to recommendations on where to stay to have a better experience with a much better cost-benefit equation than the Cheeca. Overpriced, and simply not worth it anymore.

You can’t beat the location of the resort. However, the resort has gone down hill since my last stay in 2021. The entire resort is in need of a refresh. My room was dark and dingy. Several areas of the room had damage, so did the furniture. Room attendants were a hit and miss, with a miss during one of the days. Trash left behind and room not attended to at all. The pool was cloudy and had a film of filth across the top during the entire stay. Tried the main restaurant which was underwhelming and overpriced. Ride host and a meal completely forgotten about. What was once the crown jewel of the keys is nothing more than an overpriced downtrodden place to stay.

Great spot for a family reunion. There were 18 in our group. Everyone enjoyed the pool, and some played pickle ball. The food was excellent..

I don’t think the resort is bad but wouldn’t go again. The price didn’t match the experience and the food wasn’t very good. I think it depends on what people like if they were to choose staying here. I just personally didn’t see the value in the price. We still had a very pleasant time

I was really excited to go on this vacation and it was the most disappointing vacation that I ever went on. I had an expensive room with a tub on the terrace and all you could do was smell the sulphuric acid from the terrace and from the lobby. The beach was covered with sargassum and you couldn't go in the water. Actually the water was filthy dirty and for me to have to pay for something like this was terribly disappointing and I should've been told about this ahead of time. If you want to go on vacation and have to smell rotten egg acid all day long on the beach and from your room,and have filthy dirty diseased seaweed at your feet, then go there. How sad! 😰
