Cheeca Lodge Review Feb 2026

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

After a negative experience with third-party Bookers (expedia/reservationdesk), not even sure which one.. and wasn't sure at the time who they were ..but they were deceptive), I was thrilled with my interactions with everybody at Cheeca Lodge itself including the manager who spoke with me on the phone, helped me change my date, retrieve my money from the Third party, and my stay itself was fantastic. I'm really perplexed as to how anybody could give this place anything but a five-star review. No I'm not affiliated with the place and I've never been here before, but I will be returning as soon as I can. From the lush landscaping to the beautiful pathways that are lit up with torches at night to the Waterfront to the staff, to the restaurants, and especially the roosters!, to the beautiful room layout, everything was top notch, I luvvv this lodge!!

Picturesque setting, old buildings, overpriced

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Cheeca Lodge is beautifully situated but somewhat old and run down seeming. The reason for the 3 star review is I don’t think there was enough value for the price point. Pros: setting: the main lodge and restaurant is very picturesque. Breakfast was great and Mia cucina restaurant was good. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. Cons: dinner at the main restaurant was overpriced. $44 for a swordfish dinner with one piece that was bitter and had few accompanying vegetables. Prices in the gift shop were outrageous. Quality of the staff was uneven…some were extremely helpful, others not so much.

Casual, relaxing, paradise!

My girlfriend and I just returned from Cheeca Lodge. While the weather could have been better, we made the most of it as the pool, Tiki bar (the lunch menu and food was 10/10), golf course, and walking around the surrounding area. This was our first time to Cheeca, which was recommended to us by friends. We had one minor issue with our stay, and the team there went above and beyond to rectify. We had a great time to begin with, but their extra efforts here, ensured we will be back again for another stay. Highly recommend Cheeca to relax and enjoy the views of the Atlantic!

Beware…Awful and disappointing, not as advertised.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Check in started off fine, but from there it went down hill real quick. No valet parking as listed on their website. The room was very dated, carpet had to 2 large stains, the shower had mold in the corner. We couldn't get the shower to turn on and it wouldn't fully shut, so it ran all night. I've never seen a shower so complicated to turn on and off with numerous handles that were loose. The pool and gym both very old and outdated, as well. We ordered lunch and it was very quite, ordered caesar salad with shrimp and they brought chicken. Don't know how difficult it is to get the order right, when it wasn't busy. There were bugs all outside the room covering the floor, walls and ceiling. We took the complimentary shuttle to dinner and when we called the hotel for pick-up it took numerous calls to finally get someone to answer the phone. We gave our location and our phone number in case we weren't outside when they arrived to pick us up. Guess what? I'm still waiting for that call. This is inexcusable...we waited for 20 mins and were left stranded! We had to get an Uber back. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and checked out the morning after the first night, when we couldn't get the shower to turn on at all. For the amount they are charging for the rooms, they should be ashamed of themselves, it's disgraceful. I travel extensively and I can say I've stayed in much nicer hotels for less money. The only thing you're paying for is the location, and you can get that at one of the other hotels in the keys. Don't waste your time or money on this place, it's not worth it.

I recently stayed at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa with my girlfriend. We had purchased the package through Luxury Link. Both of us were very pleased with the accommodations and the amenities of the resort. Everything was just as the offer stated. The service was impeccable. If anything was amiss, it was quickly and courteously taken care of. The food was fantastic, and - did I mention the service? Everyone at this resort bent over backwards to make our stay was perfect. It was money well spent and a vacation to remember.
