In September of 2017, Hurricane Irma stuck the Florida Keys and, by their location, the Cheeca Lodge and Spa. As a first responder, I traveled to the Keys to assist in the clean up and provide security. There was extremely limited power throughout the Keys and travel was almost impossible due to the damage from the hurricane. Even though the Cheeca Lodge and Spa was hit hard (nothing that can't be mended), the staff at the Cheeca Lodge and Spa opened up their rooms, their kitchens and their hearts for numerous first responders that traveled to the Keys. We were fed, we were housed and we were treated with the utmost respect from the entire staff that were dealing with their own problems created by the hurricane. This is a first class establishment with a first class staff that should be experienced by anyone visiting the Florida Keys.

We stayed here with a large group as all were in town for a wedding. The rooms were very nice and well appointed even those overlooking the golf course. The welcome glass of champagne was a nice touch but when we tried to order a bottle to be delivered to the bride to be as she was getting ready, room service was not able to deliver it in time which was slightly disappointing but we weren't charged. Some of the guests took advantage of the spa services and reported a good experience. The breakfast buffet was good but very expensive so only opted to do that one day. We did spend a lot of time at the pools but there was not a lot of space or chairs at the main pool so we did go over to the spa pool where it was less overwhelming and quieter. The pool bar and the bar in the hotel were good and made good drinks. Overall, a nice place to stay but wish there was a larger pool area or another pool area to relax at and definitely recommend going off site for cheaper meals and drinks.

My law enforcement agency was immediately deployed after Hurricane Irma hit and devastated the Florida Keys. Even though the hotel suffered damages, Cheeca Lodge opened their doors to us, and other agencies. They housed us for a total of six nights and treated us as royal guests. Thank you to Mr. Javier for having such professional, dedicated and amazing people working there. A special thank you to the entire staff, especially Alexis, Bob, Rob, Nishant, Jonathan, Bob the night security guard and everyone else we came in contact with. Your hospitality, and unwavering desire to assist us with all of our needs will never be forgotten.

My wife and I have stayed here before but quite a few years ago, so this visit was well overdue. Upon arrival we were greeted with Champagne and check in was so easy When we got to our ocean view 1 bed suite we were stunned at how lovely it was... we also loved the virtual outdoor bathtub. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. We were only there for 1 night and was sorry to leave and unfortunately we didn't get to eat or drink at the hotel....but we will return very soon

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, quite a way back from the beach. It was perfect! We had a jacuzzi just by our building, a short walk through the grounds to the family pool, beach and restaurants. The staff were all incredibly welcome, from the fantastically accommodating staff on the front desk (I had to make a phone call on arrival and the staff could not have been more helpful) to the friendly and super-efficient housekeeping staff. We had one minor issue with our room on arrival (a leaking toilet cistern) and could not believe how quickly this was dealt with. The grounds were beautifully kept, and the restaurants excellent. We particularly enjoyed the sushi restaurant, where staff went above and beyond the call of duty to please our small children with specially prepared sushi rolls. I hope everyone is doing OK in the aftermath of Irma.
