If it wasn't for the staff at Cheeca Lodge, there wouldn't be that much to rave about. Always smiling and super efficient, it was a real joy to see some good old customer service in place. The rooms are pretty non-descriptive but the location of the resort more than enough makes up for this. However, it is beyond me that hotels located in humid climates can not work out how to install smooth and well run A/C systems. The one in our room sounded like a jet engine, making sleep quite the adventure but as this seemed to be par for the course during our trip through the Keys we eventually got used to it.

Got a great deal for a long weekend - the entire restore is breathtaking. Normally I explore a lot more but it was tough to leave the property; there is a lot to do on site. It's a pricey place to stay for sure but it's worth it.

Spent 6 nights 5-11 to 5-17 in Room 918. 1Br. suite ocean front, 3rd floor. Nice size room with bedroom, large bathroom, plenty of towels. The bed was too hard for me so one might want to consider this if there are any joint issues. The rooms are brown, no 'beachish' decor, really enjoyed the the screened on balcony and the screen was actually in good shape. The phone did not work and it took the tech guy a few hours to fix so he was in and out of the room multiple times. A nearly 100$ room service breakfast showed up with no utensils, phone tech called room service to bring us setting for 2, by this time, breakfast for cold. After a couple of hours tracking down the manager, the charge was removed. The ceiling fan in the living room did not work, and we had a couple of large Palmetto Bugs to deal with. Food service was terrible, I think it is a training issue. Had the breakfast buffet Sat. morning, it took 15 minutes to get a waiter and had to go find one. The buffet table was down to the dregs with no plates, the fellow making omelets had to leave his station to go sort that out. It was more than an hour before shut down time. Mothers day Brunch was a mob scene, the wait staff was literally spinning in circles. We were not interested in the brunch, were sent over to the bar area where we were ignored for 40min. we gave up, had all our meals off property for the rest of the stay. There are some terrific restaurants very close and there is a shuttle service the hotel provides. The parking guys are terrific, very helpful and pleasant. When trying to check out on the 17th. there were 2 people working and 7 people waiting around in a loosely formed line. I gave up again and called them from the road. The wi-fi worked well Just too pricy for this level of service

Loved our room...tucked away in the tropical plants/palm trees which made it so private! We could also see the ocean peeking through the palm trees! So many activities offered on property that we really didn't need to venture out...but we did because it is the Florida Keys!

Just take me back right now! This place is exquisite with much attention to detail. The staff and service, bar none. The rooms are just lovely...šŸŒ“The outdoor bar overlooks the water and shaded pool, very tropical and serene. I could stay here endlessly. šŸŒ“
