Went to Cheeca Lodge this weekend, had an amazing time. Alexis and Rob were great and helpful always alert and responsive to anyone’s needs, very accommodating as always. The staff was awesome as well Lala at the pool was very nice and attentive. The hotel looks great and very clean and cozy. I definitely recommend you to stay here perfect for any occasion. Grab a blackberry margarita at the tiki bar, you won’t regret it.

The resort just reopened 8 months after hurricane and I understand they had a lot to deal with... but the fridge was not working properly, the stove never turned on, the phone wasn’t working and the shower was dripping from the rain head. Minor issues but for the price it’s disappointing. Pool was also rather cold😬. I would come back, but I find it overpriced.

My family has been coming to Cheeca for years. We absolutely love this place and the only reason I'm giving Cheeca four stars is because they aren't back to what they are capable of, which leads me to the important stuff. Cheeca Lodge has rebounded from a major disaster so we never expected it to be perfect on our recent visit, nor will it be. They need time and they need the loyal patrons from all over the world who come to Cheeca to come back even though things aren't perfect. Look at it as if you were coming to see someone in the hospital after a major car wreck. They are battered but they're alive and they will heal and be back to normal. This is the time to stand behind our beloved Cheeca Lodge, stop sweating the small stuff and know that in time Cheeca will be better than ever. The new club house looks great and the iconic pier has been 90% restored. I rated the rooms as poor but only because they are still under construction. I can live with that knowing that it's temporary. Keep up the great work.

The Cheeca had a rough 2017 - hurricane Irma did a lot of damage, and they have been rebuilding. We visited last week, one of the first few weeks since their re-opening at the end of March 2018. What can I say? When you arrive, you know you are somewhere special. The foliage, tennis courts, golf course, and spa are all a precursor to the main event when you pull up to the lobby courtyard. The bellman are so friendly and helpful, and if you get to know them and they get to know you. As you walk up to the lobby, you see the gorgeous blue-green water sparkling through the oversized glass doors. The newly designed lobby is beautiful and functional, and the seasoned staff are very friendly and helpful (and the complimentary champagne is a wonderful bonus)! We wanted to thank K/K in particular, who made our check-out process so enjoyable, which is an accomplishment, since we never want to leave! She was a joy to talk to and work with, made the process so easy. Odalys, our concierge, was also very kind. Now for the rooms! We have been completely ruined by this place, of course, since my husband surprised me several years ago with an oceanfront suite, located in the main building. 800+ square feet, king bed with beautiful, soft linens, an amazing bathroom with dual sinks and separate WC, and walk-in shower with three shower heads, including a rain shower. Balcony view is gorgeous, and there is an outdoor tub that fills from the ceiling! A small fridge, beverage sink and round out the entry area. Living space includes a huge L-shaped couch with comfy cushions and a coffee table, huge dresser and large TV. The hotel has 3 restaurants, and you can also enjoy some offerings at the Tiki bar as well. I recommend the lobster grilled cheese with an Islamorada brewing company IPA! The water sports hut has everything you could want to do, from paddle boards, to jet ski tours, to hobie cat, kayaks, paddle boats, and boat tours. A lot of the rentals are included, some are extra. We found the prices to be very reasonable. The sunset tour is worth every penny. Captain Than has amazing taste in music and beverages and knows a ton about the area and history! First mate Mackey is fantastic as well. Highly recommend. If you venture out and about, there is no shortage of things to do, and if they are within 2 miles of the hotel, you can take the free hotel shuttle. With a reopening after a catastrophic hurricane event, there are bound to be kinks to work out, and we experienced a few during our stay. But kudos to the staff, including Stuart, the front office manager, who made things as good as they could be during what I'm sure was a very stressful time. We've already booked our return trip in December, and can't wait to come back.

While in Islamorada for a wedding we were excited to stay at the renowned Cheeca Lodge. What a mistake. Understandably, they are busy dealing with damage after last years hurricane and are visibly in a state of repair. Jack hammers painters, unfinished electrical , stairwells without hand goes on. We are charged a resort fee featuring a golf course that is not playable. Our expectations were high given the the total rate was close to $500/ night in April. Would not recommend it. Perhaps in time it may get better, but it’s not very good right now for that kind of money.
