We drove to Cheeca Lodge for a weekend stay with friends. It was a great spot for a quick get-away. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The room was clean and nicely furnished. Our room overlooked the lagoon which was beautiful. It also had a "romantic tough" with an oversized bathtub with sliding windows that could open up into the room. Our friend's room had a shower over-looked the ocean and an outdoor bathtub. I booked the hotel by calling them directly and received a rate better than anything I had seen online. The first night we enjoyed time by the pool and dinner at the restaurant. Some members in our party did not love the food at the restaurant while others thought it was really good. The filet mignon was excellent ! It is pricey for dinner so we only ate there one night. The next day was full of activities. Yoga on the beach in the morning, Water bikes paddle boards, and kayaks in the afternoon. The kayaks and paddle boards were free with our resort fee but we paid to rent the water bikes for an hours. The kids loved them. Our friends enjoyed a scuba fishing outing that left from the pier. We drove to some close local restaurants for breakfast and dinner. The closest grocery store is about 9 miles away heading north. We did go there and made a quick stop at subway and Dunkin Donuts for essentials !

During the relief efforts for Hurricane Irma, the Cheeca Lodge hosted numerous law enforcement agencies for an extended period of time. During this time, the lodge not only met our every need, but surpassed them in every way. It was very clear during our time at the Cheeca Lodge, that their staff will do everything within their power to ensure complete satisfaction.

Resort was beautiful, more than what I expected. Family pool was too loud and crazy with kids. We spent our time at the adult only pool. Everything we needed was there at the pool. It was relaxing. There was a bar and we were able to order lunch at the pool everyday. It was amazing to drink and eat and never have to leave your lounge chair. Today's top 40 music was playing on the speakers throughout the pool area. It was top class and received top class service but it was cheap.

The folks at Cheeca Lodge hosted several law enforcement agencies with housing following Hurricane Irma. The compassionate, giving, supportive folks at Cheeca allowed all of us to help the Keys' residents. We couldn't have done it without them! Our heroes: Alexis Alba, General Manager Bob, Nishant Chaudhary, Mitch and Dorie.

This is my fifth time staying at the Cheeca in the past 20 years. IMO, it's the best place to stay in Islamorada, or The Keys for that matter, hands down. The property is beautiful and extremely well maintained. Most of the staff I've encountered has been top notch and seem to be very proud of where they work. If you've forgotten anything, or are looking for a cool article of Keys wear to bring home, their extremely well provisioned gift shop can hook you up with the latest brands. Overall my experience with the Cheeca has been great and I highly recommend it. My only knock that I can give them is that I was looking for a little more "local style" entrees on the dinner menu.
