Well, I've been around. This place definitely has the goods on best beach, privacy, luxury, uniqueness, and getting what you pay for ...almost. Having never been to the Keys but putting my money on this place, it was a strangely warm check-in -- by strange I mean the young man at the front desk was fantastic and welcoming, yet there are admin in the background who seem to run things who are less interested in their guests. The villa/cottage surpassed expectations -- larger, prettier, and the area beyond gorgeous, the pool, beach and all of the staff on the grounds were warm and friendly. What didn't rock my boat was only being offered water or soda, and walking into an idyllic vacation space with a completely empty fridge, save for a great smelling candle (which you can purchase for $45 if yours dies out). Four of us arrived tired and hungry, and were advised to hit the Trading Post (food, wine, beer etc. to stock your place, and nearby), or buy a meal at the Moorings Beach Cafe across the road, owned by the hotel. Why not offer guests -- at this price point -- the option to have a couple of staples already in place in the kitchen, even for a fee, after a long journey that would be a warm welcome indeed. These little things would make a big difference --it is aggravating to spend your first hour of vacation either hurrying to be ready and buy lunch across the road from the 'village', or as we did, schlepping to the Trading Post to stock up. After all, we weren't just renting a beach house, we were renting a mini-beach house in a 5-star resort! Biggest complaint, easily remedied -- screen in a window or two --or screen in one of the scenic porches. Offer some mosquito spray and anti-bug candles, as the staff tell you right off to keep doors shut unless the breeze is brisk from the ocean, or you will be invaded. In poor weather, especially, to hermetically seal the windows and rely on air-con rather than the natural fresh air. Coming from the Northeast --the smell of a good rain in a tropical setting, with the breeze passing through your $1000 a night villa, can make up for lack of sunshine. Admin. should check themselves a bit, little things make the difference.

What a view towards the east from this resort! Quite time, super security....No worries! So you might be a big fan of the hit Netflix original called "Bloodline"? It's filmed here...you well recognize the neat well groomed housing, the long pier stretching out into the emerald waters..and of course..that bent palm tree you only get to see on a calendar. It's there!

Terrific setting, low keyed and very well maintained. Really a beautiful setting, you are almost always alone wherever and whenever you want to be. Friendly staff. Don't go expecting to swim in the ocean because there is plenty of sea grass and muck, buy the views are incredible and there are other water options such as kayaks and paddle boards . The pool is exceptional with its own setting of palm trees and an occasional visiting lizard. Overall a terrific stay.

Obviously Bloodline was high on the list to say we had visited the set for this Netflix show I have never seen, but a family member was well acquainted with it and was quite passionate about our visit. All that aside, we had a luxurious lunch in a picture perfect setting. The bonus was the iguana which caught my granddaughter's undivided attention. All in all, wonderful way to continue on our overseas highway journey

Very relaxing, beautifully maintained and managed oasis. I highly recommend it if you have the means. We were a party of five that stayed at the Waca House for 2 nights. In spite of the front desk personnel saying that they were fully booked, it still had a very private and secluded feel to it. The beach was virtually deserted. We had a wonderful experience.
