We rented a house right on the beach overlooking the pool. Upon arrival we found the house had a terrible odor of mildew permeating all four floors of the house. The odor persisted throughout the week in spite of efforts by the resort to " purify the air". I could overlook this were it not for the additional problems encountered. The furniture was outdated, the carpet was disgusting, the walls were dirty with ? mildew ? dirt? The pool deck furniture was literally stained black, and the pool deck was closed for wedding and corporate events two afternoons in a row. I expected better for a house costing $ 8000 per week. Hurricaine Irma damaged all the coastal piers, limiting access to the beach for most homes. On a bright note the staff was very nice and accommodating. Property is generally nice. But there is tremendous variation in the Wild Dunes properties. Some houses are gorgeous and big, and some are less than desirable. Do your due diligence and pick the right place.

The house we rented exceeded our expectations. It was fully furnished with everything we possibly needed and the decor made it feel very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and we had a wonderful experience.

We rented a 3 bedroom suite at the Broadwalk Inn for our vacation on the Isle of Palms, about 30 minutes by car from Charleston. We had a corner unit on the 5th floor. The resort ground was well-maintained. The accommodation was actually a 2 bedroom suite and kitchen with a connected regular hotel room. The suite was spacious and nicely furnished and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. There was a small balcony with sea view. The only minor problem we had was with the light over the dining table which didn't work. Since we ate most of our meals at restaurants, we didn't even bother to report it. The main pool was only a couple minutes' walk. Our most favorite thing to do was to take a walk every evening down to the beach. Swimming, on the other hand, was better done at one of the pools.

Great resort, but when we arrived for beachfront condo, our AC was not working properly. The unit was running, but air temperature was not sufficiently cold, temp about 82 F after dark. They tried to request service at night, eventually moved us to another room in village until fixed the next morning. Overall, they did their best to handle the situation, but in my experience the problem was experienced was lack of coolant-the service person who confirmed the problem agreed. This should have been noticed and addressed before we arrived, given the simplicity of adding coolant and the number of units they operate-should have someone capable of doing this available 24/7. I've stayed here before and will do so again, wouldn't even have posted here except the survey I tried to complete crashed after trying to inform them that way. Hope they will be a little more careful in pre-inspection in the future.

First I just typed all of this in and it wasn't accepted. We rented Grand Pavillion 15 like we did last year and the same problems this year were there as last year. The stove doesn't work properly. Front burner won't come on. The toilet paper holder in upstairs bath hanging off wall. House very tired looking. Seems that if you provide house cleaning service in the hotel, you should provide cleaning once a week with a weekly rental. There during Irma so I understand but... hot water heater stopped working, they came immediately. Internet and cable stopped working, they came immediately, all overhead lights downstairs stopped working, I didn't even report it. Beach service wasn't available until Thursday, had to buy chairs for the beach. We used to own a condo in Shipwatch and loved it. A little disappointed this year in the rental.
