My stay at Divan Istanbul Hotel was extremely disappointing, especially considering the hotel’s reputation and standard. First, the cleanliness of the hotel and my room was not acceptable. The room was not properly clean, which is a basic expectation for any hotel, especially one presenting itself as a high-standard property. However, the most disturbing part of my experience happened during check-out on August 30th at around 12:00 PM. I was already waiting and it was clearly my turn at the reception. The receptionist, Eren, completely ignored my turn and chose to serve another couple who arrived after me and were speaking Turkish. Instead of respecting the queue, he attended to them and spent time dealing with their request while I was left waiting. When I questioned the situation, I was simply told to wait, despite the fact that I had been there first. This was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. As a guest, I expect to be treated fairly and with basic courtesy, regardless of my nationality or the language I speak. I do not want to make accusations without knowing the staff member’s intentions, but the way I was treated left me with a very strong impression of discrimination against Arab guests. If this is how international guests are treated at the reception, it is a serious issue that hotel management should address. A hotel’s service is not only about the building or its location. Cleanliness, professionalism, respect, and equal treatment of guests are fundamental. Unfortunately, Divan Istanbul failed badly in these areas during my stay. I strongly recommend that management investigate what happened at reception on August 30 around noon, particularly the conduct of Eren, and also review the housekeeping standards. For me, this experience was unacceptable and has seriously affected my impression of the hotel. I would not return based on the way I was treated.

The staff are very friendly and polite, tended to every request even the odd ones. Our stay was comfortable and clearly 5 star. All the food was the pinnacle of Michelin. Abdurrahman and his team were especially great, they even offered much assistancefor our newborns needs, full marks. This is our third stay in 3 years and will come again. Thanks to the excellent staff.

We were on a family trip with my parents. The staff were friendly and helping. Shafa was especially helping, she explained everything for us and suggested we whattsapp her if we have any questions. Rooms were clean and big. The pool and sauna were amazing.

A solid choice if you want to stay near taksim. Staff makes a difference as they are all very kind and helpful, they do their best to make sure you have a comfortable stay. Hard product is a bit old though, we stayed at family room. Although everything is clean, hotel could see a renovation on old looking carpets and some of the furtniture at least. some of the competition is far ahead and it seems divan is neglecting an update. its been over 15 years since the rebuild of the property.
