I stay here often on business and find it a very warm and welcoming place to stay. Rooms are very comfortable, good separate shower and bath, very clean and good food. There are three restaurants, all are good but the best is the Sushi restaurant which is first class. The other two are a bit lacking in appearance and ambiance but the food it excellent. The bar is also good too. It's a nice place to stay as a family, couple as well as business as it has a warm friendly atmosphere.

Location is great and rooms are decent but i will give this hotel 1 star for all other things that make your stay at a hotel great. Staff at front desk is a disaster with the exception of the employee who checked me in all the others were just bad at communication, rude, unhelpful and just not trained for a hospitality role. Concierge was on holiday for 3 out of the 4 days i stayed there!! A five star hotel without concierge and when they finally arrived for the 4th day they couldn't even help with a simple restaurant reservation. The hotel is also part of a corrupt deal with the cab drivers waiting outside who have their meters tweaked to rip you off. Making it quite difficult to trust them for your basic transportation needs. There is also no lobby in the hotel forcing you to sit in a cafe style restaurant while waiting for your rooms and all lobby needs. i found that quite awkward and uncomfortable. This hotel is far from five stars and i would stay at the intercontinental or Hyatt across the road for similar prices (if not better).

We spent 3 nights at the Divan hotel, in November 2016, and we did not regret our choice! The hotel is located almost in Taksim square; you just need 3mn walk to Istiqlal Street. It is the perfect spot, if you want to have quick access to the metro network; In fact the metro station is right cross the road. The hotel itself is a big property, Old but very well maintained. The rooms were spotless clean and the staff very friendly. our check in was fast and smooth, we wanted to explore the Asian side of Istanbul and the ladies at the reception helped us a lot, they provided us with network transportation's map and gave us some valuable advice. We got a room on the park side, so it was very quiet, we asked to have it on a high floor and they obliged. I cannot rate the food as we did not have food at the hotel; we wanted to enjoy the Turkish gastronomy and tried several coffee shops and restaurants outside. The check-out was as smooth as the check in and Yes, I would definitely recommend Divan hotel.
