Hotel was recommended by a friend. From outside it seemed a little less inviting. Reception... welcomed by Duty Manager Emrah Sim. We had a additional passenger with us and required an extra bed and breakfast, this was thrown in at no extra cost. Top marks for that. The rooms, breathtaking, very spacious, well decorated, the bathroom being 10/10 (I am a Fuss pot with hotel bathrooms). Hotel itself highly decorated, excellent staff Spacious rooms, food quality second to none. I would definitely recommend, must try the spa facilities slightly on the expensive side, then again itā€™s a 5 star hotel and I suppose quality comes at a price! My over all review 9.3/10 Thanks guys.

I have really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. It is just a very beautiful hotel - looks like palace. Marble, chandeliers with Crystal. Very very nice gym and pool area. Rooms are big, bathroom is very comfortable. I had fresh fruit as a compliment from the hotel. Also nice area to drink tea and very good restaurants. Hotel has a convenient location. All together - i recommend it for couples, families or business trip!

How should I begin. The last time I visited Istanbul was 1988! I promised myself that I will not go back and one visit was enough. After all these years, I decided to give the city another chance. And I was pleasantly surprised in most part due to this hotel. To all fairness, the city is becoming one of the most charming places I have ever been. I stayed 8 days in this hotel, booked a room facing the enchanted Phosphorous. Despite our corporate rate, the room was expensive, y Istanbul standards. Money aside, the room was nice and location, balcony overlooking the phosphorous, was one of the highlights of this trip. Going back to Shangrila, I expected better hospitality. I expected a cleaner room for the price I paid. I expected a more courteous concierge.on the bright side, the breakfast was magnificent, rich and diversified. Location was unbeatable. So this hotel has everything you can ask for. Housekeeping was made once a day, no turndown service as you might expect From a 400 Euros room!! Right? But if you are visiting Istanbul for the first time, my advice is to stay by the Phosphorous. Shangrila should be one of the three options which I would recommend. The hotel common area was very clean and immaculate. The spa was great. Location was best. Management and client services can be improved though as you would expect from the an oriental based hospitality firm. In a nutshell, stay there...enjoy the location, breakfast, and phosphorous.

the general manager Philippe and his wonderful and attentive team looked after us 24/7 from start to finish - my sister Mrs Pembroke thought the hotel was out of this world on her first visit to Istanbul and the hotel's team looked after us like Royalty - we were given a wonderful room and a huge upgrade on our booking - thank you! and we will see you again. the location is superb by the ferries to kadakoy (Asian side) and the old city karakoy and eminou - also the tram to the old city and the blue mosque is close the dolmabache palace is next door as is the naval museum i cannot praise this hotel enough and its management and staff the only downside is that on nice sunny days there is no outdoor space to sit out and enjoy the views - i gather the hotel has some plans maybe to do that
