Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul

We just returned from a trip to Istanbul and a luxurious stay at the Shangri-La Hotel. We booked a suite on the Horizon level and the room was large with immaculate and tasteful décor and a view of the Bosphorus that was absolutely breathtaking. We travel all over the world and have stayed in many of the luxury brand hotels like Four Seasons, St. Regis, Ritz, Como, etc., but never Shangri-La and we came away extremely impressed. We loved the hotel décor throughout and the service was a 10++. Every single staff member from front desk and concierge to cleaning crew, drivers, waiters and bartenders went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of every minute of our stay. I just cannot say enough about this entire trip and I wish I had the names of everyone that made this so special. We will return and look no farther than the Shangri-La! Pros: Over the top service (we recommend the Horizon class perks), large room size, tasteful décor, total hotel cleanliness, spa, diverse fitness center, and view. We loved the location and walked to dinner several nights and used the fantastic Shangri-La car service other nights. We were right next to the ferry line which we loved as we jumped on a 15 minute ferry to the Asian side one day (highly recommended) and a 1 1/2 hour sightseeing cruise around the Bosphorus another day. Cons: We had to leave.

This was probably our fourth or fifth visit ot the Shangri-La Istanbul. Having spent time at several Shangri-La properties, this one is one of the better ones we have visited. The rooms are up-to-date despite the building being historical, and service is personalized and on point. Check-in staff are always friendly, and check-in is swift. The location of the hotel is also extremely convenient if arriving by train or from the Asian side, with the ferry stop being a short walk away. The breakfast service was recently upgraded from buffet style to ordering to the table, a noticeable improvement!

Emeril was very helpful . He gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us the amenities .
