Reviews for Las Brisas Ixtapa
I have stayed at Las Brisas many times and have ALWAYS loved it and therefore that is why I return. This past stay was great but a few things changed and or were lacking... in my opinion made our stay not quite as top notch as in the past. PROS - 1. I love that this hotel is open and feels authentic... not glitzy Vegas style. 2. Nice rooms (beach club floor), clean with wonderful views of the ocean! 3. I love the included continental breakfast and evening snacks with the beach club upgrade. 4. Very friendly staff always 5. I love the private beach! The service at the beach is great! The beach is busy and these guys work so hard always. 6. I love the lobby bar with the open views to watch the most amazing sunsets! 7. The service at the hotel entrance is awesome! These guys are always willing to help with taxis, luggage etc... and very friendly! CONS (this past trip) only 3 things I would change. 1. I so much miss the smell that in the past was used in the mopping water. It was a clean citrus like smell that when you walked in your room or down the hall was so inviting and wonderful. This trip it had changed... that smell was gone...there was actually NO smell and I really missed it!!! 2. In the past, the beach was normally raked in the morning and all litter and other debris cleaned up. This trip, I felt that the beach area could use some attention. There was garbage from the previous day still laying around. We like to sit at the far end (near the steps that go up to the pool area) and there was a garbage can that had tipped over in the wind and the trash spilled out... the trash was still there the entire next day. There were plastic bottles and other trash behind our palapas/chairs the next day and was never picked up unless we cleaned it up. 3. My room patio or veranda in the past has had a couple of sitting chairs and a little table which are wonderful! This trip, the stain was wearing off and they appeared to be in need of maintenance... Also, the flower pot on the patio that normally has a little blossoming plant/tree was just a dry stick... looked dead as there were no leaves, blossoms etc... just a dry uninviting dead bush. I would rather have nothing in the pot than a dry dead stick. All in all, this is really a great place and I would most definitely recommend and go back as I love Las Brisas! Just a few things to consider....

People at hotel were always smilying and at the service of us, the rooms were clea , the beach nice, pools with good size, very green locations, nice decoration, excelent staff. We highly recommed to stay in this hotel, very good experience!
All exclusive meals need improvement , open bar should be all open not unlabeled beer. Buffet meals were too simple. Need better meals, beach area needs clean and better service, Othman that everything was great and I have shared it with co workers at Alaska Alaskas

If you just need a decent place to stay while in Ixtapa, I recommend Las Brisas. But if you experience any issues, don't expect the problem to be fixed or taken care of right away. We had a broken fridge in our room (which they did bring us cold water to remedy on our first night) but I had to tell them 2 more times before the fridge actually got fixed. That was a minor issue, however that didn't bother me as much as my companion. However, we were working on a wedding there and had approximately 40 welcome bags that were to be distributed upon checkin and not a single one went to the wedding guests. I had to go down twice for a combined total of an hour and go through every single bag name and room number and have the bellman deliver them to the rooms (at charge to the bride and groom) because they did not hand them out as intended. There was also a strange double charge for the breakfast buffet which it turns out was actually from the other restaurant but on the receipt said it was for the breakfast buffet. We were trying to check out and couldn't fix the issue in time to leave for the airpot. I was the one to recognize that even though the charge time was in the morning and said for the breakfast restaurant it was actually for the italian restaurant a few nights before but their receipt said otherwise. All in all, we had a decent stay, the food was delicious, everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was nice but we unfortunately had challenges that they weren't the most equipped to handle.
Only one restroom at lobby area, after an 8 hours drive i tried to use it and they were cleaning, asked the lady but she staright said I couldn't use until she was done. Check in was good, easy. Room are big and have great view. Lots of steps to get to the pool area or beach. The lady manning the pool station has pretty bad attitude. Everything else was fine. No bar service after midnight. A bit of a killer!
