Reviews for Las Brisas Ixtapa

Pro's1) The staff was very good and pleasant. 2) The Italian ala-carte was decent but limited options.3) Solarium lunch buffet menu had better options than the main Bellavista buffet 4) The Beach Club was handy. The service provided by Azui and Aldo was great. This most likely kept things acceptable at this stay. 5) The beach and solarium managers were understanding when we had concerns about drink options. Cons 1) The main buffet / bellavista breakfast was mediocre but the diner menu was terrible every time and terrible service. We sat there 20min+ with no one coming by to offer a drink or anything else. 2) Our room was right by the Beach Club café so between 530 - 700 am every morning carts were moving up and down the hallway. This extremely noisy routine is something you can't sleep through. So for 15 days this was our alarm clock 3) Purchasing the beach club really means nothing here. The mini bar was not included, they didn't want to give us the better beer/liquor options at the beach, pool or main bar. It seems like this hotel has their hands out for every little thing we asked for. Where the Huatulco Las Brisas everything was included, great drink options and buffet. We've been there 2 times. 4) The main bar the mixed drinks were horrible. I went up to see what's going on, they were not pleased with me being at the bar, which means they have something to hide. The hard liquor was of the poorest quality possible mixed with flat old pop. I asked for the higher end brands but this was not included. They didn't want to give us plastic cups at the main bar to take back to the room and when they did we were supposed to bring the back. The concierge said this shouldn't be and they have plenty of cups. This was not an issue at the pool or beach. 5) The mexican ala-carte was very disappointing. They had some really nice options but wanted us to pay an additional $70 for my wife and I??? The Brisas II was not included/totally unacceptable prices so this leaves us with 1 ala-carte to choose from. 6) 90% of people staying here are local and it's very apparent that the staffs focus is the mexican families. The family groups are 5 or more so this is where the staffs demand/focus is. My wife and I paid $7200 peso/day for 2 weeks and it definitely wasn't worth it plus we always tipped. We were told the Las Brisas is going through changes but the owners are sacrificing quality to save a penny. This will drive people away and we won't be back

Gorgeous resort, amazing views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We loved this resort. The views from the room beach and pool are just amazing. Very quiet and relaxing resort which is just what we were looking for. Staff was very friendly. Very clean resort. We have been to many resorts and this one had great food for all inclusive. We normally ate off the menu at the buffet and the pool restaurant, and it was very good. At the pool restaurant we had their hamburger, shrimp quesadillas, and the club sandwich. They were all very good. Get the guacamole and the chips! So good. The main buffet restaurant menu we had enchiladas and they were very good. We ate at the Italian restaurant and it was very good. We had the lasagna. We also ate at the Mexican restaurant, but we did not like our food there. Drinks were OK. Tip for better drinks just order shot of whatever alcohol is in your drink and make it as strong as you prefer. Also tip your waiters and bartenders you won’t be without a drink in hand! I had a stone massage at the Spa and it was fabulous. We fell in love with the resort will definitely be a returning soon. It was one of my favorites.

Just returned from a week at Las Brisas. We chose the all inclusive plan and i had many questions going in after reading reviews. Alcohol - there is limited choice of beer - either light or dark - but my husband didn't care. just keep 'em coming! Great wine choices. We do not drink hard alcohol so i cannot comment on that. I included the handout they give you when you check in as it answered all my questions before we went. Beach food was the best we found through the resort. We ate lunch there daily. they brought the food and drinks to you. great guacamole! The breakfast buffet was also great. They had a made to order egg/omlette station where i ate daily. The water is filtered throughout the hotel except for the taps in the bathroom. The dinner buffet got VERY old after a few days but remember, it's a buffet, so you are getting buffet quality dinner food. The rooms were spacious but agree there are repairs to be made. For example, our bathroom door wouldn't stay open so we had to put a towel on the floor to keep it open so it wasn't so hot. The balcony chairs /table were wood so very damaged and worn from heat and humidity. Lampshades had some holes. The caulking in the bathroom needed a redo. Pool was very relaxing and yes missing tiles but I didn't care. Plenty of chairs there. Lunch restaurant is also at the pool. And yes, the pool is a good 5-7 walk. From the beach to the pool, even longer. The 1 restaurant that was delicious, Las Brisas II is extra; not in the plan but we went there twice because it was so excellent. Beach was STUNNING and we spent most of our time there. Lobby bar was also fun - servers knew my order daily! no food in the lobby bar, however, that wouldn't have been nice. Special shout out to Sergio at the beach, Victor the lifeguard and Esenio at the front desk! Another pro tip - if you are there during turtle season, ask the lifeguards for your own turtle release!n Last pro tip - guac not on the beach menu but as for it! ALL TIPS included with your stay but we tipped beach server extra because that is a tough job!

Thank you to all the awesome staff for ensuring we had an amazing 2 week vacation the last week of January and the first week of February. First we'd like to thank the chefs and kitchen staff for all their hard work preparing food for us each day from breakfast to dinner. The food at the buffets and a la carte was very good with good variety.....we even had sushi one night at the buffet. I do agree with a previous reviewer that there should be an additional a la carte restaurant included in the all-inclusive package, especially for those staying 2 weeks or more. This resort checks all the boxes for us which includes: great staff, spectacular view from the rooms, private beach, beach service, proximity to airport, and lots of shade. As mentioned all the staff that served us were excellent, but I'd like to especially thank a few that we interacted with often that made for a wonderful vacation: David, Adrian, Xavier, Albierto and Alberto on the beach, Lydia and Manual in the bar in the evening, and last but not least Xavier in the Solarium at lunch. When we ate in the Solarium for lunch, we specifically asked for one of Xavier's tables as he was a delight providing humour along with excellent service. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with him and he practiced his english and french with us. Forgive me if I have misspelt any names here. I would also like to thank housekeeping for doing a great job on our room each day. It should be noted that the surf is quite rough here and the beach was red-flagged every day we were there so needless to say, though others did, we did not swim in the ocean, but it is beautiful to watch all day. We are not big swimmers, but love walking the beach, so not an issue for us. Also, the pool area is beautiful with spectacular views. Thank you again to the staff of Las Brisas Ixtapa, we look forward to seeing you again in 2025. Samuel and Deirdre M.
