About the Hotel

In the village of Jamaica in southern Vermont, you'll feel as if you've traveled back in time. Woodland trails and clapboard cottages set the bucolic mood, which is best enjoyed from Three Mountain Inn. Anchored by its 1790's main house, this tranquil enclave embraces the area's rural charm with period furnishings and a delightful pub serving local cuisine. Playful in spirit, it's also home to Elsie and Howard, an artsy fiberglass Holstein cow and her calf.

Reviews for Three Mountain Inn

Quaint charm, clean attention to details, and a beautiful cottage!

We loved our weekend here. We stayed in the private cottage and actually got snowed in one of the days. Would be a bummer but the room was so great we didn't get cabin fever at all. The owner was very personable and met us on arrival and we bumped into him at check out as well. Will definitely like to stay again and 10/10 would recommend it.

Terrific stay in southern Vermont

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed October 10, 2021

We just returned to Vermont for fall foliage after an eight year absence. We used to go every year. And each time, we stayed at this wonderful inn in this quiet corner of Vermont. Ed and Jen always welcomed us with their unmatched warmth. Well, after eight years (culminated by a global pandemic necessitating changes for them at the inn), we returned with eager enthusiasm. While a somewhat different experience (gone is the wonderful restaurant they used to run - replaced by the really fun Dirty Duck Tavern, featuring Ed's amazing sandwiches), our enjoyment of the place continues and is enhanced by the sparkling personalities of Jen and Ed. There is no doubt that we will keep coming back to this place. And you should, too. The comfort of the rooms is unmatched in the area: supple and luxurious linens and toiletries, a room refrigerator (stocked with water), comfy robes, a fireplace, and a tv (that we never used, since we don't like watching tv while on vacation). In the mornings, Ed serves up some delicious food (you must have his special bacon). But the best thing about this place is the genuineness and authenticity of the innkeepers. What a delightful welcome we had upon our arrival. But of course, they both remembered us, for that is their nature and their quality as hosts. And we had some very real conversations with them (far more delightful and rewarding than the usual fluff you get from most innkeepers). Of course, they have an incredible knowledge of the area and will make suggestions for activities that are spot on for the traveler. We, definitely, will return to this place! And it won't take us another eight years.

Lovely stay

Authentic Vermont feel. Cozy, clean room with robes, toiletries, water bottles, etc.. Comfortable bed and working AC. Welcoming, friendly and accommodating Inkeepers. Delicious food at the Inn’s new (casual) dining establishment. Easy check in and checkout. We needed a place to stay for an event in VT, booked this on AirBNB, and were very pleasantly surprised! We will be back!

Returning fans of Three Mountain Inn (and Ed & Jen)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed August 12, 2021

It's been since before the pandemic hit that we stayed at our favorite get away spot in Vermont. Ed & Jen are always so welcoming which is why we keep returning. Upon arrival Ed fixed us sandwiches from the new eatery there "The Dirty Duck"; mine was an authentic Cuban and my wife Nancy had a Mushroom Tort, both very yummy. We caught up on old times and new beginnings at the Inn. Then off to bed in our luxurious, comfortable bed and air-conditioned room..coffee in the morning and Ed made his special Almond muffins for Nancy. We went kayaking and also spent time in the pool at the Inn. It was a short two nights but we'll be back soon.

Our stay couldn't have been better. Ed was a pleasure to deal with.

Our stay couldn't have been better. Ed was a real pleasure to deal with. We first booked ourselves into the Sage Hill Cottage back in the late fall of 2020. As we got closer to our arrival date I had noticed that many of the restaurants in the surrounding area were closed for inservice dining but open for takeout.. Discussing this with Ed, he came up with the following solution. He offered to move us to the Jamaica Suite, a larger space than the cottage with a bedroom and living room separated by two french doors. He offered to provide us with a microwave and moved one of the tables from the Inn's dining room into our living space. I quickly accepted his offer. He was there to greet us upon arrival, and offered to assist us with our entry into our room. Upon entry we noticed the dining room table had been set with silverware, wine glasses and china; everything we needed for our two evenings eating takeout meals, in a romantic setting, next to our fireplace and candlelit table. Let me not forget to mention the jetted hot tub, for two, and rain shower. Excellent after a day on the slopes. The bed, extremely comfy. Anything we asked for during our stay was quickly taken care of. We couldn't have had a better two nights. It should be noted that the common area's of the Inn were closed due to Covid restrictions. We plan to return when we can experience the entire package.
