5th time at MCSM. STRENGTHS: The beach is still stunning. The rum is still smooth. The staff are friendly and still committed to making your holiday fun and memorable. The rooms are still clean. The resort grounds are still beautiful. The evening shows are entertaining. The vibe at the resort is still a relaxing one. WEAKNESSES: Let's just say that one will not dine well all week. There is certainly food--bread, eggs, milk, coffee, yogurt, hamburgers, pizza, pasta, fish, rice, ice cream; however, the quality has deteriorated. The Reasons? Pick one: the embargo, the shortages and supply chain issues post Covid, the collapsing agricultural system in Cuba, a bad chef. All I know is that the cuisine is poorly cooked. It's bland, lukewarm, repetitive. I'm sure that the staff try to do the best they can with what've they got. But the resort's efforts are not what they were a few years ago. If you like spicy, flavourful meals (not to mention variety) then Cuba may not be for you. If you don't mind packing your favoutite treats, spices and sauces or eating light for days, then book that trip.

This resort is a true gem! From the team at reception led by Yusdelkys that do whatever they can to make sure you get the best room possible, to the bell boys, wait staff, bar staff, chamber maids, chefs, pool staff, and of course the animation team... everyone goes above and beyond daily and without exception. There are too many names to mention, but a few that made our stay special include Adriana from customer service, Juan Carlos from the lobby bar, Yamisleidy in the a la carte restaurants, Lily with her daily towel art and cleaning, Luis at the pool, and Daniel's crepes and pancakes. Extra special mention goes to the animation team. Thank you to Jorge Marin for the excellent dance classes, truly the best of the best, Alberto for always being there to put a smile on our faces, Juana and Nayibi for their face painting and salon skills, and Arel for an amazing aquafit class. The beach is unmatched and the gardens are beautifully kept! Visit with an open mind and a kind heart and you will not be disappointed.

This trip was our second visit in less than a year and it was the staff that we met in October of 2023 that had us come back to this resort. Alberto will make you smile the whole time you are there, and if he catches you without a smile, I guarantee that he will put one on your face. Luis, who works the pool area, is another gem on the resort. Niabi and Ohana are wonderful with the kids. Arel is full of energy all the time and Marine will have you dancing everyday on the beach. The staff at this resort is like no other I have experienced in all my travels. I hope you have the same experience. The beach is pure Cuba, crystal blue water, soft sand and the location will give you a beautiful sunrise every morning. I know you have to set your expectations lower when it comes to the food choices and quality, which is true. However, I enjoyed every meal and the buffet was very good on this trip. You won't go hungry, I promise you that! The rooms are dated, but they are clean and spacious. Again, set your expectations and priorities for your trip. You can get much better quality accommodations in other countries and resorts, but expect to pay double. We met people on the resort that have been coming back multiple times. A few guests we met had been more than 20 times this is resort. After 2 trips, I know why.
