Four Seasons The Westcliff, located in the posh northern suburbs of Johannesburg, has the magic touch when it comes to South African hospitality. With an array of lovely, ample-sized rooms replete with lavish marble baths and jutting balconies, each guest chamber gazes upon the neighboring zoological gardens or an enchanting courtyard encased within the resort. Thoughtful touches such as butler stations and heated towel racks are standard amenities here. Four Seasons The Westcliff's hillside setting with cascading, sculpted gardens and elegantly opulent accommodations evokes a bygone era of leisure and refinement in one of the world's most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities.

A wonderful hotel. The staff were, without exception, all exceptional. I would like to also give huge credit to Mpho, who made my stay enjoyable and unforgettable. My initial room had a plumbing issue, and after reporting this; she took full ownership over ensuring the issue was rectified. I was upgraded from a Panoramic View King Bedroom to a suite, and also had my hotel transfer counted as complimentary as a goodwill gesture. To add to this, on the last night I ordered room service and Mpho kindly sent a few extra bits along with a handwritten card. I have stayed at some of the world’s best hotels, and rarely find service and customer focus delivered to this calibre. The hotel’s WhatsApp chat is quick to respond and helpful. The gym was well equipped with modern equipment, and my spa treatment was also very pleasant. Every moment in this hotel (once Mpho got involved) felt luxurious and comfortable. Thank you!

Staff on arrival friendly and rooms were of a decent standard. We were in a family suite. Gym equipment decent quality. We didn’t get chance to try the spa. What let’s this place down was the quality of service in the restaurant (Flames). We waited 30 mins for a table, then 30 mins for tea, then 30 mins for breakfast to arrive. Staff are clearly not trained and the manager seems to do all the running around. The food itself was ok, if a little expensive considering the prices elsewhere in Jo’berg. We were also sat in a remote area of the restaurant next to a door which wouldn’t shut properly, so it was very cold. Some people were wearing coats while eating! Lack of attention to detail is clearly an issue here The other issue is the only bar in the hotel is on the terrace of Flames which is not in the same building as reception and is open air. Surprising for a 5 star offering. All in all a disappointing offering for Four Seasons

I spent three nights at the Four Seasons and loved every moment—the place is peaceful, with beautiful views. The heated pool is simply amazing, and you can enjoy a swim at any hour of the day or night. In-room dining was excellent, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. During my first night, I had an issue with the lighting in my room, but the team did everything they could to make sure it didn’t bother me for the rest of my stay. At the spa, I experienced the best massage of my life—though I’ll admit, it came at a steep price. If I had to point out one weak spot, it would be the restaurant. I had heard glowing reviews, but I was disappointed: the service was slow, and the meat lacked flavor.

What an amazing property. Recently stayed here both before and after our safari experience. The staff does an amazing job and service is clearly Four Seasons level. The rooms have great views of Joburg. The restaurant area has incredible views and a very robust menu - something for everyone. Wine list is exceptional as well - try some great South African wines!! Craft cocktails are also yummy - tried most of them!!! The entire team does a great job of making this your home away from home. We will definitely be back!! PS - try the spa - amazing treatments!!
