You can see this was once a real luxury hotel, though now it looks and feels a decade past its best. Rooms are nice but old fashioned. The gym is fantastic (one of the best hotel gyms I have ever used). The restuarant was very poor for the standard of hotel. Dinner involved cold soup, tough/overcooked fillet. Lunch was a packet of biltong emptied in a bowl (!!!), some fatty salmon and a rubber lamb chop. Food standard of a three star, certainly not a five star hotel. Outrageously expensive for what it was. Staff were all very nice - it just felt like the whole place has seen better days and the standards were not what you would naturally expect from a Four Seasons.

Had a great stay. Hotel is well run although at times the reception feels a little understaffed. The staff they do have are helpful professional and polite. It all went wrong when I realised my coat had been taken from my room. At this point I couldn't not have got a more unsympathetic response. It was almost as if it was an inconvenience me mentioning it annoyed everyone.

Will come back again for sure The hotel is located in a beautiful area Food was amazing and prices are very reasonable It was a bit tricky to get to the main entrance as it want on the Main Street. A better four seasons signage can do the job

Accommodation and customer service doesn't get much better than what we experienced at this place. Lovely roof terrace too for cocktails and dinner. We will be back here everytime we are in Johannesburg.

The hotel is located in a hill with delightful views of the urban forest of Joburg. The buildings and gardens full of roses are very beautiful. The room is spacious, well decorated with pictures of the inspiring South African leader Nelson Mandela with a large bathroom . The cleaning is done twice a day and maintains the high quality of the Four Seasons hotel. The hotel is very kids friendly, the staff has prepared many surprises for my little one like leaving a special decoration in the room for her , a cute toy and cookies ! The spa is gorgeous , with an outstanding pool and the massage was so relaxing . My only suggestion is that the pool for the general guests is a little bit small , with a limited area for lounges chairs . The staff was warm and friendly. The restaurant Flames has a good food, but as expensive as you can wait when you are at a high luxury hotel. I strongly recommend this hotel and if I come back to Joburg it will be my first choice !
