Excellent family stay. Kids aged 5 and 8. Beautiful resort with lots of activities for the kids. Generous adult only pool, water slides super fun for the kids. Picturesque location, all rooms have great views. Fridge in room. Not too crowded, never needed to reserve chairs or fight for them. Beach is large, clean, waves are not too rough. Gym is well appointed Must do: Surf experience, expensive but totally worth it Walk to the cove next door to see the sea turtles & swim Pony rides/experience Ukulele lessons Lei making Cons: Generally the food is expensive. Breakfast buffet not worth it. Suggest buying food/milk/drinks at the local grocery store. Spa was luxurious but ultimately not worth it. Easily the most expensive facial and massage we’ve ever gotten (and wee from NYC). Both services were nice but not worth the price tag.

Spring Break, 2024, our 3-generation family of nine people spent a week at Turtle Bay resort. It was a TRIP OF A LIFETIME. We had the BEST TIME. Maryam, a manager at the resort, helped me to coordinate a most beautyFULL week with a balance of adventures & excursions and amble time to BASK in the BEAUTY of this special place. She was a GIFT and ANGEL, to be sure! A few notes and highlights: The OCEAN BUNGALOWS are absolutely exquisite - RIGHT on the ocean, with grass and sand steps from our private lanai. We ordered room service one night and had a special “private family dinner” on our lanai as we unpacked. SURF LESSONS with the Jamie O’Brien Experience surf school (on property!) are a MUST - EACH instructor was SO HELPFUL, KIND, and FUN to be with in the surf! No matter what is your surf level, they have you covered! (Get the photo package, too!) I’ve not been ANYplace where you can watch the surfers in such CLOSE PROXIMITY - with a cocktail/mock-tail and snack in hand, event! The food throughout the restaurant DELISH and atmosphere as BEACHY-COOL as can be! The coffee bar never failed to disappoint (family fave: ACAII BOWLS & BREAKFAST BURRITOS). We booked cabanas by the pool 3 days, so we didn’t need to worry ‘bout saving seats and were able to be cozy and quiet in our family pod. Take in EVERY sunset you can - each one breathtaking and more gorgeous than the last. They even have pickle-ball! SO GOOD! Recommendations: Make dinner reservations, especially if you have a large group. Bring layers - if you’re there in the winter/spring. The evenings can get breezy and cool. Allow LOTS OF TIME to enJOY this resort - our family loved our “STAY” days as much as swimming with the dolphins (with IRUKA HAWAII) and sharks (with ONE OCEAN) - highly recommend both! We've been to this property four times over several decades, each time under different ownership. It just keeps getting better and better (but pricier as expected). While the exterior building looks a bit old (used to be a Hilton), the inside lobby and rooms are modern and great. The most recent renovation to the lobby is spectacular and brings the fantastic views right inside the hotel. The vast property is stunning with wild ocean surf, beautiful beaches and has miles of trails, golf course and a horse stable. Be sure to visit the stable to visit Pono, the hotel mascot labrador retriever! You will also see seals and turtles on the beaches. On this visit we purchased the club/lounge access which really elevated the trip. It is a pricey upgrade, but considering the price of food all over Hawaii, we thought it was worth it for us. The breakfast and lunch options were very nice, with lots of sushi and sashimi at the ready. Even the evening appetizers were beautifully presented. Club access also includes a bucket of balls daily per guest at the golf course. You could really checkin to this hotel and not leave for a week and take part in all of the activities offered. A few are free, but most have a fee. That said, there is so much to see and do on the North Shore, you really should have a car and drive around and explore. We split our time between Waikiki, which is noisy and bustling with a "city" vibe, and this resort which is totally laid back and quiet. Previously, the resort had more of a surfing focus, with "Surfer the Bar", but given the great breaks around the property you are sure to see plenty of surf action while staying. On this visit the surf was just too big for our ability so we were only spectators. This resort is nestled in a stunning location. I would not think twice to visit!

We had a really special stay here. It’s a lovely place, very impressive. The staff were great upon arrival and our room was perfect. The views are stunning! There’s a really well stocked convenience shop there which came in very handy multiple times. We felt like we were in a movie staying here and I’d highly recommend.

Our family decided to have a staycation and late birthday celebration) as we never experienced visiting this side of the island as often after living here for over 20 years. As local residents, we were very impressed and appreciated the services and amenities provided at the hotel such as the Pacific Dream on site photography (highlight of our trip), jacuzzi, and the horseback riding (highlight of our trip). Front Desk Services were very in touch and a big help for us as they sent houseman, room service, and the maintenance to our room when requested. Our only comment is that our walk-in shower did not have a door which can cause messes on the floor and the hose option which can be convenient, but that is the structure of the bathroom. We overall had a very good stay and I wish to do use all amenities offered if I have the opportunity to visit again.
