Trip of a Lifetime

From the time we stepped foot onto the property and from the time we left, it was the best trip we have ever had. Friendly service and excellent food. The room was fantastic. Overall, the best.

This Four Seasons resort has it all. Beautifully positioned on beach. Great restaurant views and food! Health club and classes are top notch plus a really good golf course. 10/10 overall. Close to airport We really loved and will be back.

A generic hotel with an attempt at a nice varnish.

Do not book this hotel if you’re looking for exceptional service and accommodations. If you’re reading this review, you know that this hotel is exorbitantly priced. Many people, like me, expect exceptional cost to come with exceptional service and accommodations. Nothing was exceptional about the Four Seasons Hualalai. The room was nice, but turn down was inconsistent (we did not get it at all one day of our stay) and there were bugs in the room. Additionally, you get no say in what room you are assigned once you arrive at the resort. We selected a beachfront room and were assigned a room with no outdoor shower, which is a feature heavily advertised on the website. Our room was also at the edge of the resort (which is spread across nearly a mile) and had to walk a long way to get to any resort amenities. The beach is also filled with volcanic rock. While it looks interesting, the rock made the beach nearly unusable. The restaurants have good food, but they are equally as expensive as everything else on the property. My wife and I spent between $200 and $300 on all of our meals for just the two of us, and we mostly ate at the “casual” restaurant, Beach Tree. The resort is far away from anything else on the island, so it is not convenient to go off property for meals or entertainment. The pools were nice with attentive waitstaff, but the kings pond (the one with the fish) is not worth going in. Unless you get there very early in the day, the water is too murky to see anything. Finally, do not expect anything from the hotel if you’re celebrating an event. We went for an anniversary trip, and the hotel gave us a $15 dollar of Prosecco to celebrate. That was nice, but a cheap bottle of champagne does not come close to justifying the cost of the resort. We told the resort restaurants multiple times that it was our anniversary, and they didn’t do anything to recognize that. To sum it up, in my opinion, you should stay at a different hotel that is more conveniently located on the Kona coast. There are many other options with similar amenities that are better located and not nearly as expensive. You will get much better bang for your buck somewhere else.

Best in Class

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We came here for a 3-night honeymoon stay at the recommendation of 2 friends: 1 local Hawaiian and another frequent guest. We were not disappointed. The Four Seasons has a brand reputation of service and class that is absolutely upheld at this location. The resort provides excellent amenities and resources at your disposal throughout your stay. We greatly appreciated all the attention and service that the Four Seasons is known for. The buffet breakfast is incredible and was the highlight of every morning.
