Reviews for Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa

Thank you Bryant

Always great to return. The location on the edge of the escarpment is the best in the Blue Mountains. The facilities, room, food and staff are excellent, and the great spa team. And special thanks to Bryant, always giving outstanding service.

Never trust this hotel

Terrible hotel. Arrived at check in time of 3pm after a 3 hour drive in heavy Anzac Day holiday traffic holding a confirmed reservation and which had been paid for in full. Was told they had given the room to someone else. Hotel blamed Expedia and said they had told Expedia at the time of my booking they could no longer provide the room but refused to provide any evidence (I am still chasing). The only message I received from Expedia was that the room was confirmed, a confirmation number and advice that “there is no need to call the hotel, the room is confirmed”. Disgraceful and no attempt by hotel to make good the error with any alternative offer or to make it up.

Very disappointing.

Check in time is 3pm and rooms are still not available at that time. Left the room at 8am, returned at 3.30 and housekeeping still had not made up the room. Then they left dirty cups and bags of rubbish in the room. Paid 5 months in advance, a special early bird rate, only to find it $200 cheaper a month prior to my check in date. Overall, a special occasion which was quite disappointing due to the lack of attention to detail. Not worth the money. Deluxe room with a view of the car park. This hotel has 82 rooms and car parking for approx. 20 cars.

Really wanted to give this wonderful hotel a 5 star, but two major issues - staff and ducks!

Really wanted to give this wonderful hotel a 5 star, but two major issues - staff and ducks! Some of the staff need to have a refresher course in customer service - there were two staff in the bar/lounge area - the first didn't seem to want us there and did his best to ignore us while waiting to be seated and then when we tried to order a drink (which was obviously beneath him), then the second person who brought the drinks could not have been any nicer, talking to us about our trip, making sure we enjoyed our drinks, suggesting things to see..... The ducks are a major issue for the hotel - they enjoy the pool and its surrounding area - OK, the puts me off the pool, but then to watch the grounds team hose the duck's doings into the pool..... Why did I want to give the hotel 5 stars - It is a fabulous hotel, the rooms are huge and well presented and the location is perfect

Unique Property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

What an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. The rooms are lovely and spacious. A little olde-worldy but that was exactly what we wanted. Not at all tired. Nice outlook. We had interconnecting rooms. Breakfast is a little basic but very nice quality. Strangely, they don't tell you that you can order eggs when they ask what coffee or tea you would like. Rather weird. In fact, the food side was not up to the standard of the rest. We ate in the lounge twice and had two pretty big misses. Once they tried to charge for a bottle instead of a glass of wine and the next time an ordered plated of chips failed to appear. Sad really as the food was very good. I wouldn't let that put you off if you intend to take a look though. It's an outstanding property and really lovely with lots of unique features.
