We were not guests at the resort; we only used the beach facilities. We did enjoy the experience. There was 7 of us. We spanned three generations - 75 year-old's to 9 year-old's. What we really enjoyed relative to other beach options up and down the coast was the beach facilities. Normally your beach options include an umbrella and two beach chairs. Bendida beach offered more convenience. We rented a cabana (open tent) on the beach for the day. The cabana has a large table, chairs and receives all day waiter service from the beach restaurant. In addition we had unlimited access to beach mattresses and lounge chairs. If people wanted to stay away from the sun all day - they could just sit in the cabana; if someone wanted to be outside in the sun they could. The constant presence of a server was very convenient for us as our kids could just order snacks and drinks without an adult needing to organize anything. Aware that the price of this convenience may be steep for locals; but it is very convenient for foreign guests to the Bulgarian beach. We spent two days at Bendida and I recommend the experience.

My husband and I were traveling in Varna and were recommended the beach at Thracian Cliffs. We were told, however to make reservations as everything gets very full. At first we wrote an email to request one but to this day noone has responded to our inquiry. We then got the contact number from the main website and kept calling for 30min straight before getting anyone on the phone - it was the reception and they transferred us to one of the beaches for reservation. The call got dropped so we called through reception again to get transferred. A very rude person picked up and told us that we are calling too late (a day earlier) and everything is already taken. They were also "unable" to transfer us to the other beach to check for availability there. So we had to go through the resection again at which point the person told us that they can't transfer us anymore and we need to get the direct number which they couldn't even wait for us to wrote down. Luckily after the second try we got the number correctly and managed to get a hold of the second beach. The person there sounded like a spoiled teenager and when we asked for a reservation of a tent he told us "Oh, its complicated". We asked if that means difficult to reserve or if there is just no availability and the response was "Full". We then asked for an umbrella and again the bright answer was "Oooh even more complicated". At that point we were just over this resort and decided to simplify pur life and stay in Varna instead. This is simply unacceptable from such an expensive and supposedly exclusive resort.

Went to bedida beach after golf. Super lunch at reasonable prices. Can't understand why people think it's expensive. Free Transfers available from hotel to beach. Great choice of food and drink and great service.

Firstly the good parts - the golf course is fantastic; very difficult, but with superb views - you will lose balls, so make sure you bring plenty. Unfortunately the resort does not live up to the same billing. The breakfast was great, and the rooms spacious, but shodily finished ( beware the electriicty sockets falling out ) However, the restaurants were expensive, particularly the wine. The on site shop was closed most of the time, and so was the bar, in the evening. Better to eat our, but you need to organise transport, and drink is still expensive in most of the tourist hotels.

Thracian Cliffs sits on an extraordinary location, but the service leaves lots to be desired. I can't speak of the golf course as I do not play the sport, but having visited the beach facilities for e second time now I can say that it has gone downhill since my last visit. The waiting time for a golf kart to take us to the beach was appallingly long on both of my visits. The beach restaurant and bar seem to have had a facelift since I last visited, which was a nice surprise. However, most of the beach staff seemed to be quite inexperience and the general dynamic of the waiting staff in the restaurant pointed to a poor management structure. The prices are the highest you will find anywhere on the Bulgarian seaside and at the same time the service and food quality leave lots to be desired. Eventhough the lunch was a bit of a letdown do to the service and high price tags we still enjoyed the private nature of the beach club. I also really like the new beach mats that replaced conventional sunbeds as these are much more comfortable in comparison.
