Elegant, understated beauty

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband and I chose this boutique inn to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival in the Ocean Suite, we were greeted with Prosecco and sweeping views of the ocean from the private balcony and large picture window. Bedding was very comfortable and we appreciated the large comfy bathrobes. There's plenty of room to sit outdoors on the Adirondack chairs, on the porch, or by the fireplace in the nicely furnished living room. Even the soothing music added to the elegant ambience of the whole inn. We ate breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant named Ocean and every morsel was outstanding. The staff was very hospitable and made us feel special. Thank you for a memorable weekend celebration!

Romantic Getaway

I went here with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful time. We went for a romantic getaway for valentine’s weekend. We had an oceanview room and ate at the hotel restaurant. Wonderful and very romantic! We loved exploring Kennebunkport! Such a cute town!

Wonderful in all ways

Although we were unable to visit the Inn at our intended dates due to family medical emergencies, our experience with staff and management at Cape Arundel Inn was absolutely wonderful. We unfortunately had to cancel our plans a few times due to unforeseen circumstances and not only was the Inn's management team understanding, they allowed for extreme flexibility. This kind of customer service has made us excited to visit the Inn when we are able to and we would recommend this Inn with NO reservations based on their unmatched customer service. There is not a doubt in my mind that our stay will be wonderful. Thank you Cape Arundel Inn for your kindness. We look forward to our stay with you, very soon

Gone Way Downhill

We have stayed at the inn many, many times and had booked a visit for early December. My daughter came down with pneumonia and I called to re-book and was told by a very snooty manager that they will all allow us to reschedule but “this will never happen again”. She then pressured me to make the arrangements there and then and was annoyed that I couldn’t commit to a date. I then spoke with another manager who also made it clear that they would make a one time exception and let us rebook but if we needed to cancel again there would be no refund. We arrived on a Friday with the knowledge that there was a nor’easter on the way Sunday but we knew we couldn’t reschedule and decided to play it by ear. We stayed in room 2 and upon opening the door to the room an extremely heavy aroma of air freshener hit us. We opened all the windows ( was freezing outside) and tried to air out the room. I began to get runny eyes and congestion from the smell. The room is also in desperate need of updating… the windows are rotting and everything looked old and worn. There was a lovely girl at the front desk who did move us to another room and that was appreciated. We had dinner at Ocean and it was truly terrible..my husband ordered lamb and specifically asked for it medium.. it came out rare and very fatty. Everything was over salted and had very little flavor and was quite expensive for a sub par meal. Then we decided with the forecast (12 inches of snow) which would start Saturday night and go all day Sunday that we would not be comfortable driving home that we would cut our stay short and leave Saturday morning. Of course there was no refund offered and I knew from my conversations with the managers there would be no offer of one. We will never return to the Cape Arundel and we have been coming here for the past ten years..you think that would count for something and they would have offered us a credit for another stay. The inn used to be lovely and well maintained..the main building is in poor condition and general maintenance does not exist. Again, with the treatment from management, the awful dinner and poor room conditions we will never be back

This is the 5th or 6th visit and we love Cape Arundel Inn even more. The quality and ambience is consistent and cleanliness is impeccable. Milena greeted us on our arrival and made sure we were comfortable for our entire stay. She is a gem! Casey and her crew kept our accommodations perfect. We highly recommend this beautiful inn for a pleasant stay! Thank you !
