Just checked into the property. Lovely grounds and facilities as always. Complete, shocking miss on wine selection and attitude from the front desk. Last time we stayed here, we enjoyed the grounds and a wonderful wine tasting room with a very friendly and knowledgeable host who greeted folks and poured great wines from Sonoma County (and beyond). This stay, we were limited to a "sponsored" tasting from a well intentioned but mediocre vineyard located a few blocks down the street. When we asked about other options at the front desk we were told, "there are bars in the area you can go to if you want wine." Period. What?!...this from from the staff at the Kenwood Inn? One of the great pleasures of Sonoma County are the knowledgeable ambassadors of the the vineyards and gracious hosts found in nearly all the hotels, spas, and restaurants. The Kenwood Inn WAS one of the finest examples in my experience. I was literally shocked and deeply disappointed by the sad representation and poor hospitality on display this afternoon.

If you're looking for a quiet romantic Inn look no further. From the time you arrive you're swept away with sparkling wine and a tour of the property. Our room was in the back. Every entrance is private. We were in room 10. Perfect!!! Fireplace in room with king sized bed and balcony overlooking pool and gardens. The landscape is top notch. The signature breakfast was everything you'd want to sample in the morning. The wine and cheese hour was also lovely. There is even time for a nightcap of port or sherry by a fireplace. We didn't try the spa but I'm sure it was wonderful as well. This place is perfect for couples. We never missed not having a tv in our room. When we were first escorted to our room a CD was playing and all the songs were some of my favorites. The bathroom was gorgeous...again think Italian marble and toiletries smelled heavenly. There are plush bathrobes and slippers for your use. The staff are all friendly and the guests were fun at wine reception. And OMG the bed and pillows were simply the best! I didn't want to leave the bed in the morning. Our bed faced a beautiful fireplace which even in August you get to use in the early morning and late evening. To the left of the bed was the balcony with bistro table and chairs. The one thing that they don't have but need is a small chest of drawers to store your underwear, shorts and tee shirts. The armoire is gorgeous but drawers are needed. Also, I wish they still had the restaurant open to serve guests for dinner. It changed hands and no dinner is served on this gorgeous property. It's a magical place and I'd imagine having dinner and wine here would be the icing on the cake.

The place is beautiful and the location is great for wine tasting. My room was lovely and comfortable, but it was also facing the road and very noisy. I woke up several times to loud trucks and motorcycles. They had a fountain coming out of the wall and I heard running water all night. To top it off, I had no hot water in the morning and had to take a freezing cold shower. When I told them at the front desk, they said "I didn't set the handles right" There were two handles, hot and cold and I travel for a living! I know how to work a shower. Anyway they took 15% off my $400 per night rate. Any major chain would have done a lot more, for no sleep and a cold shower. To be fair other members in my group had a better experience, but nun felt it was worth the price.

I chose this property after seeing it as a new addition to the Four Sisters properties which we have stayed before. This is a gorgeous Mediterranean style property with stone walkways and separate garden apartments. There is a lovely pool offering both shaded and sun areas surrounded by sitting areas and a couple of small fire pit areas. Our garden apartment was across from the pool and a great location proximate to enjoying a delicious breakfast of homemade granola, yogurts, pastries, fruit and quiche, as well as an afternoon wine tasting offering two wines, fruit and cheese. The only change I would make would be a request for either an upstairs apartment or an apartment with no one above as we could hear the folks above us walking around. Fortunately, they were on our same schedule so it wasn't an issue. It is important to note that this property operates like a B & B so there is no lunch or dinner service. Apparently, the former property operated as a bar and restaurant. This was not an issue for us as we enjoy visiting the local restaurants. We are looking forward to another trip to the west coast and have already made the decision to stay here again since our first stay was so short.

Beautiful accommodations but lacking in ammenities. The cookies were complimentary, the wine and cheese in the afternoon was mediocre and the breakfast was terrible, cold food and broken toaster. All in all not a great experience.
