Dated property infested with insects!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed on New Year’s Eve (Dec 31-Jan 1) at this property as part of our Kerala tour. Our tour consisted of only 5 star properties and we’re still scratching our heads as to how this property is considered 5 star. The property is extremely dated. The ceiling has water damage stains, the wood in the rooms is rotten and shows termite damage, furniture is old and stale. Our rooms ceiling fan control was broken and I request a knob for it no less than 3 times. It never came. The AC wasn’t working the engineering department had to come and clean the drain line while we were in the room. Worst of all this place is full of mosquitos and large ants. Our bathroom was infested with ants. Arun, the supervisor, was informed multiple times about this. We ended up leaving and going to the Taj down the street for lunch. Our stay was extremely uncomfortable. Would not recommend this place for a comfortable nights stay. Beware!

Unless one intends to cause discomfort to guests, I would like to point out a significant issue with the rooms: in particular room 304, where the air-conditioning outlet is positioned directly above the bed, as is the cooling fan. This layout should be reconsidered, as it negatively affects comfort and sleep quality. Aside from this, compliments to the architect who designed a charming resort well integrated around the lake. The cuisine is good, and the breakfast is also appreciable. A clearly positive note goes to the wellness center, which accompanied, pampered, and relaxed us throughout our stay, representing one of the property’s strong points. Another negative aspect concerns the inability to air out the room: for three days we were forced to keep it strictly closed to avoid the numerous mosquitoes present in the resort. Installing at least one mosquito screen on a window would allow guests to sleep with the cool night air, rather than enduring the heat. With a small investment, the overall guest experience could become truly pleasant and fully worthy of the beauty of the property.

Excellent service, great choice of food and delicious cuisine in a beautiful setting. The resort is on the lakeside. I would recommend and come again.
