Based on the cost of the property and my experience at other Hyatt Resorts, I was SURPRISED and DISAPPOINTED to discover that the property was very "public". That is, there is not controlled or monitored access to the property, limiting only hotel guests access. The small pool area was primarily occupied by drunk, non-hotel guests utilizing most of the pool lounge chairs while creating a non-Hyatt Resort atmosphere and experience for paying hotel guests. I observed the non-hotel guests being loud, rude and disrespectful to hotel guests and hotel staff. Because common area access to bathrooms at the property were limited, I also observed multiple non-hotel guests urinating in the bushes directly adjacent to the pool area. These non-hotel guests were most likely staying at less expensive properties with little to no amenities and so they were taking advantage of the amenities at the Hyatt property at the expense of actual, paying Hyatt guests. It would appear that Hyatt has made the decision to put revenue above guest experience by opening up their pool and pool bar area to non-hotel guests in order to generate more income. Additionally, there was no controlled access to the gym. I workout every day and observed non-hotel guests entering the property and using the gym each day. I had to wait to use some cardio equipment due to these non- hotel guests being present. Again, taking away from paying Hyatt guests experience. I do not recommend this property.

While the location of this hotel is beautiful, right on the water & within a 20 minute walk of everything, my primary reason for being there was business. While I'm sure the hotel will say they aren't, I can almost guarantee they were blocking my cell/internet service so i would have to purchase theirs. Surprisingly, I would walk off the property and viola I had 5G service on my phone. While on the property I had little or no service - I tried multiple places... my room, by the pool, hallway without success. My phone showed I had 5G service but I had nothing. I couldn't even send or receive a text. Same with my computer. My computers service notified me of highly suspicious activity on the Hyatts free service and/or hackers activity. I would have been happy to pay for a wifi service but not when they are intentionally cutting your private service in which I pay for. What good is a hotel on a business trip if you can't work remotely to create reports or be able to be reached while staying there and not in a business meeting.

The hotel is well situated a few blocks away from Duval Street that avoids the traffic and noise but easy access to the shops, restaurants, bars, and other activities. The staff were friendly. Rooms were very nicely laid out with good size. The bathroom was lovely with a tub/shower

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric for 5 nights. We were given an upgraded room with a partial ocean view at check in. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and were cleaned everyday while we were there. The front desk staff and the staff at the pool and Blue Mojito Bar and Restaurant were very nice. The food was vey good. We were given a complementary drink every afternoon when we were at the pool which was a nice touch. We enjoyed everything about our stay. No complaints!

Why would anyone pay these rates to watch contractors jack hammer, drill, and blow, for 3 1/2 days around the pool. We use to come and have drinks and entertainment around this pool and really enjoy and relax. Management told us it was a 30 minute job. That I would understand. Not being lied to and it taking 3 1/2 days !! Not to mention the Black Mold in our bathroom. Hyatt has lost their way with this facility. Day one started with no internet and they did not know until i reached out to management. Then the construction was our poolside entertainment. Service was sparce... Management was one excuse after another. There are too many options in Key West. Why waste a good time at Hyatt's gain. Spend your hard fought free time and money with a facility that is properly managed and that actually cares!
