The Europe Hotel & Resort

We were looking forward to visiting the Europe hotel in its idyllic location with the backdrop of Lough Léin and the mountains. The walks and pathways through the grounds of the hotel are lovely. However, we were totally underwhelmed with our stay. There is no proper welcome at reception on arrival and nobody asked if we had enjoyed our stay at departure. The food in the brasserie was passable but not really good value. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and efficient. The breakfast in the large dining room with panoramic views from the large windows was excellent. The bedroom had an amazing view and the housekeeping staff do a good job. The bed however, was uncomfortable, the mattress was too hard which is not conducive to a restful sleep. The hotel need to review their policy and procedures of accepting gift cards that are presented on arrival. These gift cards are fully paid for in advance and should be treated as cash and noted on the reservation and at the time of check in. The hotel reception staff failed to do that but it is obviously due to lack of training by management or the policy of the hotel. Overall, a disappointing stay at the Europe and we are still surprised by that. The location and view from the hotel are wonderful but the hotel is mediocre for a 5 star luxury resort. The hotel is possibly geared towards and more suitable for large tour groups from the US and business conferences during the week. We certainly won’t be returning in the future.

We recently stayed at The Europe Hotel in Kerry with a large group of my family to celebrate my nephew’s birthday, and we had such a lovely stay. The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking Lough Leane, and it really is a fantastic setting for a family getaway like ours. There is plenty to do, but at the same time the whole hotel has a very relaxed feel. As an iPrefer Titanium Elite member, the hotel had left a lovely gift in recognition of my status, which was a really nice personal touch. They also helped us arrange a bespoke birthday cake for my nephew, which was presented beautifully. We were genuinely very impressed with the effort that went into making his birthday special. The spa is another major highlight. It is Forbes-rated and, in my opinion, one of the best hotel spas in Ireland. We spent some time there during our stay and it is absolutely worth making the trip for, particularly given how reasonably priced the treatments are compared with many other luxury hotel spas. We also ate in both the Brasserie and the Italian restaurant. Although we weren’t able to reserve tables in advance, the hotel always managed to accommodate us and have a table waiting, which was particularly appreciated given the size of our group. The food in both was very good. Overall, I would describe The Europe as casual luxury in a very Irish sense — comfortable, relaxed and welcoming without ever feeling stuffy or overly formal. It is the kind of hotel where you can properly switch off and enjoy yourself. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in Ireland looking for a luxury spa escape, a family getaway, or to anyone visiting Kerry and exploring the Ring of Kerry. Book it — you won’t be disappointed!

We’ve just returned home after a fantastic stay at the Europe Hotel, and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The hotel itself was excellent, with beautiful facilities and the outdoor Vitality Pool being a particular highlight. Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed, and a special thank you to the team for the upgrade — it was very much appreciated. The views of the mountains and lake from our balcony were absolutely breathtaking and made our stay even more special. Breakfast and dinner in the Panorama Restaurant were outstanding, with fantastic food and excellent service. We also enjoyed a visit to Riva, which was a great spot for pizza and well worth a visit. Overall, we had a wonderful stay from start to finish and can’t wait to return again in the near future. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We recently stayed at the Europe and this hotel is truly amazing! We were shown to our exquisite suite and our too short stay went by too quickly… From the lovely welcome at the front desk where they offered warm wash cloths to freshen up from our journey to the unbelievable attention to detail throughout our stay, this hotel surpasses all expectations! This hotel truly made our first visit to Ireland one we will never forget!

We went to The Europe to celebrate my birthday and honestly, this place is heaven on earth. ❤️ We’re local to the area, so we often pop in for lunch or dinner, but staying here was extra special. From the moment we checked in, the staff were so warm and friendly, helping with our bags, having a chat and making sure we were all okay. We had such a lovely surprise waiting for us in our room, which really added to an already amazing stay. We had dinner in Riva, which was beautiful in its simplicity — pasta, pizza, wine and beer, and we were sorted! 😂 The staff were once again 10/10. The next morning we had breakfast and the view is honestly something to be treasured. Absolutely amazing, and that’s before you even get to the delicious breakfast, pastries, tea and coffee. ❤️ Before heading to the pool, we were chatting with Maria in the spa. She is an absolute gem — so knowledgeable and professional, but with such warmth, wit and genuine kindness. She is a real credit to the hotel and her care and attention added so much to our stay. Everything from the moment we walked through the doors was hard to explain. You really have to experience it yourself. The level of detail is perfection — the staff, service and efficiency are all second to none. And to top it all off, the breakfast staff the next morning had wished me a happy birthday, even though I hadn’t mentioned it to them! They had simply seen it in the notes on my booking. Such a lovely little touch and such a special way to start my birthday. The Europe made it a birthday I’ll remember for a very long time. We’re so lucky to have this place on our doorstep. ❤️
