From the views to the staff this hotel is 5 star! Breathtaking setting at dinner, lakeside gardens, magnificent vistas and top notch service in quiet, upscale lushly appointed rooms with private balconies! If you are tired of castle hotels with crumbly nooks and crannies, stay here for a taste of how Kings and Queens once lived!

while on a 5 day golfing trip to Kerry with a main party of 5 (more came for individual nights) we decided to base ourselves in the Europe Hotel. This hotel us located by a beautiful lake and Kerry mountains in the background. Hotel its excellent. It is located a few kilometres outside of Kenmare town, This can be a disadvantage, however the view of the lake and mountains in the background means that it is worth while being out from the town. anyway - you can be there in 10 minutes, Staff in this 5 star hotel are extremely friendly and helpful, and were willing to provide information and answer the many questions from our International guests. From the front desk, to the bar, lounge and restaurant to the staff who cleaned the rooms and also the staff who worked in the leisure facilities - all were so helpful, service was excellent. Leisure facilities are really good, the pool is good and I was surprised that people were lounging beside the indoors pool in their swim ware as if sunbathing! Beside the pool there is a smaller pool with power jets and if you pull a pulley beside the glass windows a small set of sliding doors open and you can go outside into the other half of the hot tub, which is outdoors. It is really cool - being out in the hot tub in the rain!. my only issue is there were lots of couples lounging in the water and I was without my wife! Service was excellent, On 2 mornings we were leaving well before the restaurant opening times - this was not a problem - a continental breakfast was waiting for us. On the day we went golfing which was expected to rain - the front desk manager provided us with the loan of umbrellas without asking. It was this simple attention to detail that was prevalent throughout our visit. Food and service in the restaurant for breakfast was very good This is expected from 5 star hotels, however, the cooking and service staff were very friendly, had a good banter with us as customers and this was really pleasant and made our international guests feel at home and the were really impressed with the Kerry and Irish hospitality. Oerall - a great few days, I hope to bring my wife to the hotel for a visit some time and together we too will try out that outdoor hot tub!

Views and facilities are not comparable in the region. Fantastic breakfast, comfortable rooms, tranquil setting. Service is attentive but not intrusive. We are returning guests and notice the standards remain the highest. Looking forward to our next stay.

My husband and I visited from New York and spent one night at the Europe along with my sister and her husband. Arrival & check in went smoothly. Got to our room, very clean and spacious! Went out onto the balcony & was met with a not so amazing view. To our right was a dirty white wall and below us a big hole in the ground. We had a partial view of the lakes even though we paid more for a lake view room! Went to the bar for a few drinks which was really nice & very reasonable! Came back to the room a short time later to get ready for dinner & notice there was no full length mirror in the room! Then I went to plug in my charger and the plug was not working! The TV then decided not to work also. I had to phone reception and get someone to come & fix these which they did in fairness! Went to the panorama restaurant for dinner, we booked it for 9.15pm. Everything came out so fast, we didn't have time to enjoy each others company & chat but I have to say the Food was delicious! During our main course the staff began moving furniture & preparing tables for breakfast around us, and not quietly! We felt very uncomfortable and rushed! We ate our food fast & left! The following morning we used the amazing facilities! Pools were out of this world! Came back to the room after to shower & dry my hair before check out & half was through drying my hair the hair dryer stopped working! I had to leave the hotel room & go to my sisters room to use hers! I know these are only small complaints but it just made our stay that little less enjoyable. Overall this hotel is beautiful but maybe they need to up their game a little regarding the smaller things!

I would stay there again. Its a great place to be when the weather is too bad to go out. The view over the lake is spell bounding. Anybody who walks into this hotel would want to stay there. Lovely staff. A kingdom in the heart of Kerry. Donal
