Reviews for The Europe Hotel & Resort
6 girls stayed here for a relaxing getaway. The hotel is just fantastic, the views are stunning. We spent a lot of time in the pool and thermal suit. The outdoor heated pool is amazing overlooking the lake and on one of the day a young deer just walked past it was beautiful. The food in both restaurants was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel!

A piece of heaven in Co Kerry We had a lakeview room it is worth it to pay for this upgrade as the view is spectacular. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Its a very relaxing break. The outdoor pool is lovely.
Visited here with our family on the weekend of the 26th. The hotel itself is excellent, great pool and spa and the hotel in general is very nice. The big let down is the food its was just terrible especially seen as the place is 5star rated. We ate 5 times in total from the restaurant to the bistro and even the sandwiches were terrible! Two Prawn dishes were sent back as they were inedible and tasted off we still got charged for them until we asked for them to be removed. The lamb I ordered was so Dry I had to order more Gravy just to try get it down! Six of us ate with 6 drinks and it was £240 for terrible food! The price would have been fine if the food was decent. Great hotel but they really need to get a proper head chef quick! Once maybe but every meal being bad is not acceptable in a 5 star hotel.
Highly recommend staying here! You walk in the door and the view is spectacular! The spa is the best massage/spa I ever had. Really worth the price. Not really walkable to tell city center but easy cab ride. Great service and atmosphere makes it all worthwhile.

Just back from our second trip to the Europe which is undoubtedly one of the finest hotels in Ireland since its renovation by its German owners about 5 years ago - everwhere the finest German materials and furnishings have been used to set off the spectacular scenery but OMG what an awful shame about the staff which were a mix of well meaning but utterly clueless catering school students (you'd wonder what they're being taught in the state run catering schools) and local Kerry folk who clearly have no experience of 5 star hotels - dirty uniforms, BO, sweat pouring off the brow of the restaurant waiters, meals thrown down on the table in front of you, coffee spilt over ones trousers without comment and at one point we witnessed a stand up argument between one of the catering school students and a guest who was reduced to tears mind you during our 6 day visit or indeed on our previous visit we never once saw the Manager (after the Europe we moved on the Dromoland where the manager was everywhere clearing tables serving meals and at one point hoovering the lobby) - the food during our stay particularly in the Bistro restaurant was only fair to average dripping in grease and the fish option on the menu was frozen every night - not surprisingly given the lack of leadership the signs of wear and tear and general lack of maintenance and cleanliness the hotel is beginning to show signs of wear and tear everywhere
