The Europe is a great hotel and, in my experience, quite possibly one of the finest hotels and resorts in the world. We stayed there for 8 glorious days and 7 nights at the start of a month-long swing through Ireland. It was a highlight of the trip. We had a large room with a small balcony overlooking beautiful Lough Leane. The room was comfortable and well-appointed with lots of storage and a wonderful bathroom. The service was excellent and prompt. The turndown service each evening was a luxury. Several things really set the Europe apart, however. One is the world-class spa facility. Even if you never book a treatment, you still have full daily use of an incredible array of indoor / outdoor pools, a dry sauna, a wet steam room, a saline soaking pool, lots of comfortable lounge chairs, a full and well-stocked workout room, a separate room with spin equipment and live spinning broadcasts throughout the day, and large changing rooms with walk-in showers. On the same level is a fabulous cafe that serves until 5 pm--- you can dine in your bathrobes! And many people do. The second thing that sets it apart is the breakfast. The breakfast room is huge, the buffet and cooked items are extensive, and the staff is excellent. You could spend most of the morning there! The hotel is located on the edge of the vast Killarney National Park. Less than 100 metres from the front entrance is a 6 km running trail that connects to a much larger trail system in the park. We had a great run every morning, highlighted by several close encounters with the wild red deer that roam the adjacent Killarney Golf Club. The Europe is a great jumping-off point for the Dingle peninsula and the Ring of Kerry, the Gap of Dunloe (don't miss it!) and points south. Even Cork and the east coast are only about 90 minutes away by car. We'll definitely make the Europe a part of every future stay in Ireland.

The Europe has definitely been the top of my list for a long time and I was beyond excited to be down there for a relaxing weekend - my ideal weekend involved relaxing in the spa, eating beautiful food and enjoying a few drinks and this is exactly what we did in the Europe. To be honest as much as I love Killarney and how beautiful the town is I didn't want to leave the hotel as there was so much to do there and we had some of the nicest food there. On arrival we were greeted and told we had been upgraded which was such a great and pleasant surprise - we were not prepared to be upgraded to the outstanding suite we were in, the views of the lake and even the hotel itself were spectacular. To be honest we are now completely ruined and will struggle to stay in any other room/hotel for fear it won't live up to our experience in the Europe. We have previously stayed in 5-star hotels throughout Ireland, some in Europe and the most beautiful picturesque ones in Thailand and we both agreed that the Europe topped the list. All staff were friendly, approachable and willing to do anything you asked and the food in the Panorama restaurant was divine. While the Europe is expensive I believe you cannot put a price on the high quality and service we received while staying there, I already want to book another stay.

One the best hotels in Ireland. This location provides the ideal base to explore cork and Kerry as well as indulge in the wonderful facilities. The active level is a real treat with a salt water pool and very large steam room sauna and Jacuzzi.

Fabulous Resort. Beautiful views, great food, great service, excellent rooms and the best spa facilities I have ever seen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will be back to stay the next time we are in Ireland.
