Reviews for The Europe Hotel & Resort

Lovely time but a little pricey

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

A lovely stay at the Europe but a bit overpriced. Our stay was enjoyable but a few things surprised us. There was a lot of children and babies there during our one night stay. The spa area is lovely and luxurious but is limited, with only one outdoor infinity pool overlooking the lake. The service was good but did not feel that it was 5 star unfortunately, e.g we arrived at the hotel early to use the thermal suite (which is allowed). Your robes are found in the wardrobes in your room but our room wasnt ready yet, we asked at the spa if we could we have robes for the thermal suite but were sent back up to reception where we were told there were no spare robes available. When our room was ready for check in there was only one set of robes in the wardrobe so had to ring down to reception for another when the staff knew we had asked for them previously. We had paid a little extra for a "Golfside suite" but the view was mainly of the trees that lie between the hotel and the golf course, didn't really feel the view warranted an extra cost. The food in the Riva Mediterranean restaurant was very good (we ate there twice as the Brasserie (bar restaurant) where we planned to eat doesnt take reservations and had a waiting time of 1.5 hours when we arrived for dinner at 7.30). Staff were very pleasant. The bar had live music at night and we enjoyed great cocktails at the bar. Breakfast was delicious and is served in a huge room with fantastic views of the lake. Overall we had a lovely time at the Europe but didn't feel it was quite worth the money we paid, luckily we had a voucher to put towards the cost of our stay.

Dreamy and romantic stay!

My partner treated me to a one night stay here as we both have never been and always wondered about it. I must say that both of us were blown away with the level of service and the amazing food, the beautifully manicured gardens and the gorgeous views of the Kerry mountains and last but not least, the spa was just unbelievable! Will not be our last time hopefully but really gorgeous hotel and you really feel welcomed and relaxed after your stay!

Fantastic

Retuned for our third time for another 4-night stay, fabulous welcome at the car from David and check in was prepared and executed by him also. Spa is beautiful and relaxing and spacious and would high recommend the Riva restaurant at the spa for a light lunch in your spa robes, very easy and relaxing. Katia at Riva is an exceptional host and she made us feel so welcome! Light bites in the lounge close to the bar is also a great option when not using the spa. Jana at breakfast was so accommodating for the children and it is one of the best breakfast experiences we have ever had with great service. Bartek in the brasserie is a fab host and Stephen is such a funny guy and they both made such a great experience at dinner in the evenings. Our daughter loves horses and it was such a good experience in the stables to groom and ride the horses and the girls there are so welcoming and accommodating despite the awful weather. Room was as usual, so comfortable and peaceful with amazing views and everything one could wish for. We will return again soon. Garth & Jenny

Wonderful experience

Two of us spent two night here. This is a super hotel. Check in was professional, the room really comfortable and a great sleep both nights. Every person working here with us was most professional and we felt it was almost individual attention. The pool and entire leisure facilities are amazing. The food was really good. Don’t know how it can improve

Lovely stay overall

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Overall it was a lovely experience. The grounds and view are beautiful. The food mostly perfect. Lots of areas to relax in. The pool and spa area is gorgeous. The room was comfortable. The bar staff were very friendly. Some elements however definitely diminished the experience. The check in at reception was less than welcoming. The receptionist was rude and abrupt, didn't smile once, put the welcome cloths out of reach and didn’t refer to them. Felt very uncomfortable. I asked about needing to book for dinner and she just said that it was walk in only, no need to book. Not mentioning that the Panaroma restaraunt was closed. It does mention this on the website dining section, that it does not open Sundays, but did not come across this information when booking. Later that evening around 7pm the Brasserie had an hour and a half waiting list and the Riva had a half hour waitlist. - just a bit odd not to mention this potential wait or have some kind of booking system. Rooms are quiet basic for a five star but the view is exceptional.
