Reviews for Reunion Resort, a Salamander Golf and Spa Resort
I live in Orlando. I've lived here my entire life. We take advantage of the many great local hotel deals for Florida residents for weekend getaways. There is definitely a reason why locals don't hear about or think about this resort for staycations. There is absolutely nothing great to say about this resort outside of the fact that it is pretty. First - let me tell you about the room... We were promised a room by 1 p.m. After hours of calling, sitting down with guest services and finally demanding that the manager come out and speak with us, we were given a villa at 6 p.m. This is 2 hours after check-in. Of course, we didn't get the villa we requested and were promised, but one that overlooked I-4. When we arrived to our villa (8 in our party), there were only 6 bath towels in the unit. We decided to forego calling housekeeping since we knew it would be 10 p.m. before they responded. Now on to the service.... we arrived at the pool at 11 a.m. We waited one hour for someone to serve us pool side. We repeatedly pushed the button on our umbrella and finally gave up and went to the bar to order food and drinks. When someone finally agreed to serve us, they rarely came to our area to check on us. We finally gave up and just went to the bar. That evening we went to dinner at Forte. The place was practically empty, yet it took two hours for dinner. We had four little girls, age 7 in our party who were exhausted. We repeatedly had to ask for drink refills, clean silverware, etc. We had the same experience at breakfast the next day. The manager did provide us with a $100 resort credit, however in my opinion, he should have comped our room. What a HUGE disappointment, especially since this was a mother/daughter birthday getaway for me.

We had a great 6 night stay at the Reunion Resort. The villas were very spacious with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, patio, and washer/dryer. It was very quiet, and we didn't hear one peep from our neighbors from the left or below us. It's only 20 minutes away from any of the Disney World parks, and there were many close-by restaurants to choose from on HWY 192 West. I would love to give this place a 5 rating, but we did have some minor issues: * We requested bottled water to be delivered to our villa, but no one showed up at all * Stay away from the ice machine on the fridge, as there were bugs in the ice cubes. Yucky!! * Shower door in the master bathroom was stuck, so you literally have to pull with all your might to open it * The other bathtubs didn't have a slip resistant surface, so prepare to slip and slide while taking a shower * The TV remote in one of the bedrooms wasn't working, so you could only change the channels by pressing the numbers manually on the remote * Our Villas North location didn't have a neighborhood pool, even though it shows a picture of it on the map they gave us * Neighbors left trash outside their villas, and it was still there the next day. * The water park was fairly small, and the 3 feet deep pools were mainly for kids. Wished there was an adults only pool to relax in. Even though these were small complaints, we'd still choose to come back to this resort for its quiet location close to the Disney parks.

The grounds are impeccable and the staff are always extremely helpful. The restaurants are amazing and the roof top bar and pool have an amazing view to the Disney resorts. Highly recommend the resort.

Keeping it short ....... We are Reunion repeat customers because my son has celiac - we prefer places with kitchens so we can cook his food - At Reunion you are paying for the rooms which are clean, roomy and excellent. There is a great pool with a lazy river for adults and a kids water park - both clean and nicely done. Poolside service was adequate and the food was above average. Everything a short drive - 2 Publix supermarkets , CVS , Walgreens, Dunkin Donuts and about 20 mins to Disney or Sea World. Only 2 cons - not enough activities for kids... No basketball courts, bocce, shuffleboard or adequate arcade. Plenty of tennis and golf but its Orlando. Lots of families will be there - there isn't enough to keep kids occupied if u want to do a day at the resort. Flipside is - its orlando lol. So possibly their mindset is who the heck is going to be playing games at the resort? But i know we like to do 5 days where one of the days is spent on property to break it up... would be nice if there was more to do for kids. We ate at Eleven as we do each year we attend - wife and i got the porterhouse. It was at best an average steak - very fatty and over seasoned. Everything else we ordered was great and service was very good. In all, another great Reunion trip - just keep in mind you are paying for the rooms and the hotel is lacking in kids activities otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

We spent weekend here for meeting. Beautiful facility very large but rooms were mediocre and service in restaurants were hit or miss. Been sitting at table now 15 minutes at pool restaurant and no one has addressed us. First night fresh catch was mahi. But don't think it was fresh or mahi. Wife couldn't eat it. Sorry to complain but not quality we expected. Good Luck
