Horrible Experience - If you want a hot shower or a good night's rest this is NOT your place.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We recently stayed at the Reunion Resort &Golf Club through Wyndham. When we first got there, we were greeted by very friendly people. We get to our room and I am initially impressed. The size of the room is good and it was VERY clean. That is where it ends. A hotel has a few things they need to do, provide you with a clean room where you can get a good night's sleep and a hot shower. This place did neither. The first night we were there, in the master bedroom, the fire alarm kept chirping. We were doing everything we could to make it stop, including trying to reset it, as we just wanted to go to bed. I called the front desk asking if we could take out the batteries. They tell us we can and try that, yet it keeps chirping. Eventually we have to remove the entire unit to make it stop. Then the lights and fans in the front two bedrooms continuously went on and off throughout the night, which led to a horrible night's sleep. The next morning everyone wakes up exhausted because of the fire alarm and the lights going on and off. When we get back from a long day at Disney Springs, my son called the front desk to have someone come fix the light problem because he said he couldn’t have another night of no sleep. A gentleman came over to fix the problem. He said the lights were fixed, but the fans were not because they had to send over someone to program them the next day. Everyone goes to sleep and again, all through the night, the lights are going on and off. The is extremely frustrating because we had to be up early the next morning for the Lightning Lane passes that we had purchased for a long day at Disney. The next day someone supposedly came to program the fan, so I am once again thinking this problem is solved. We go to Disney for the day and get back. Everyone goes to bed and another night of lights going on and off. Again, everyone wakes up exhausted, so I call the front desk again to explain about the light issues. They say they will once again send someone over to fix the problem. We get back from another long day at Disney and again the lights are on and off all night. The next morning, we wake up. I am in the restroom and I hear this strange noise. I come out and realize there is water pouring from the ceiling. I quickly run out to call the front desk and explain the situation to them. I am expecting someone to get there quickly. Nope. The water continues to pour through the ceiling and starts to spread even further through the bathroom ceiling. I run to one of the front bedroom to get ready and get into the shower, which is FREEZING COLD! Now, the kids had said to me that they didn’t have hot showers, but I am thinking they are warm, just not hot like our house. I take the quickest and coldest shower of my life and now feel horrible that they have all been taking cold showers for the last four nights. Eventually someone gets to the room and it is determined that we cannot stay in this room. They master bath was flooded, along with the master bedroom, which actually had standing water in the corner. The water was leaking through to the other bathroom floor in one of the front bedrooms. They ask if we want to move when we get back or then. We had already started packing and the last thing I would want to do after a long day at Disney is come back and move rooms. So, they get us a room in the next building over. It was an ADA room, but at this point, I don’t care. I am thinking we are going to get a good night’s sleep because the hot water and light problem would be solved. They did offer to send someone over to help us move, but we were in a hurry to get to the park because again, we had paid for Lightning Lane passes and we didn’t want to miss our time. We get back from the park, which was a special day because my son proposed to his girlfriend. (She did say, “Yes!”) They go to get a shower and you guessed it, COLD! They take quick ones and head to bed. Again, both rooms, lights off and on all night. By this time, my daughter is hating this place even more. While no one was getting sleep, my son is getting sick because he is just so exhausted and his immune system is just done at this point. The next morning, I call the front desk. I am furious at this point. I go to use the phone in the room, only to find out that it doesn’t work. Now remember, this is an ADA room. What if there was an emergency in that room? I try calling the front desk from my cell phone only to get voice mails, which were full. I eventually called the Wyndham 800 number to explain the situation and have them pass me through. Two rooms, same issues. I get the nicest girl who says she will have the manager call me. He calls me. Now, this is where it gets even worse. I explain to him all of the issues we have been having. He explains to me that the flood was not their fault, which I wasn’t even blaming them for. He completely ignores the cold showers and lights keeping everyone up all night. When I tell him that I think he is minimizing the issues, he proceeds to tell me that he thinks I am incorrect. Now, I am already exhausted. That is the last thing he should be saying to me. He tells me he will get someone over to fix the water temperature and the lights, which he eventually said he knew they were having issues with in a “few” of the rooms. At this point I am so frustrated with the response from the manager, I just want to get off the phone because I was at Disney and was just done with the way the situation was being handled. He did offer us a gift card for “the inconvenience,” however, we never received that. We get back from Disney that night and there is a note saying they had fixed the water temperature and the light problem. By this point, my son is really sick. We had one day left at the park. My son’s fiancé, my daughter and her fiancé are all just exhausted. My son, especially needed a good night’s sleep to get better for our last day at the park. The showers were a bit warmer, still not hot, but not cold either. All night, the lights go on and off. The next morning, everyone is again, exhausted and my son is so sick, he just stays there and sleeps all day. You can guess what happened with the lights that night. At this point, everyone was just so tired and wanted to get home because they wanted a good night’s sleep. We drove from Orlando to Texas, all exhausted and in a car with someone who was sick. Everyone had to go to work the day after we got back. My son missed the last day of this vacation with us. He missed two days of work from being sick. My husband eventually caught it, so two trips to the doctor’s office. This was our vacation. This was a special one for our son and his now fiancé, which he didn’t get to enjoy with her. This was their Christmas present from us. We just wanted to enjoy being together. Unfortunately, because of the issues, it made it very difficult to enjoy it. Vacations, especially at a place like Disney is already exhausting. Having a place to get a hot shower at the end of a long day and a room to get a goodnight’s sleep is not too much to ask. The only person who actually seemed to care was the girl I was transferred to who said she would have the manager call me. SHE is the one who should be in the management position. They better do what they need to do to keep her with the company because they need more people like her. The manager should have called back the next morning to make sure everything was resolved, but that didn’t happen. Just a continuation of the way the call was handled. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this place for anyone.

Reunion is the Place to Be in Orlando

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Reunion can accommodate a large family group as we just had a group of 5. We'd stayed in a 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. 2 king sized beds and 2 full/queen sized bed in one room. The living room have a large L-shape sofa that can accommodate 2 people. The dining table can seat 6 people. The place is large enough to handle 8 people.. Reunion is a gated community that has a Waterpark, golf course, fitness centers, mini golf area, bicycle rentals, etc It is close to all the major attractions and I-4. The on site washer and dryer is a plus.

Overall good especially golf but waterpark food and beverage needs a lot of work.

Hidden miniature golf charge (not transparent on website or app). Waterpark fantastic except for the lousy food and cocktail shack with sub par food I wouldn’t give to my dog. Also could do a lot better by expanding or adding additional food and drink areas around the pool area for the amount of guests there. Long lines and management needs to learn how to prepare for crowds and not run out of food during peak Florida holiday weeks. Ordered a $6 grilled cheese and it came out as thin bread warmed with maybe a 1/2 slice only of cheese in it. My brother got a cheeseburger he said was just as lousy. Do better management.

Mostly a pleasant experience

The villa we rented was very big and had everything we needed, and the golf was phenomenal. My only complaint is right now we are sitting in line at the water park trying to get food and drinks, and the line is a mile long and we’ve been waiting now for 15 minutes and haven’t even moved. The first time around we waited almost 45 minutes just for drinks as it was supposed to open at 11:00, but didn’t open until noon due to lack of food. They need to get their act together and maybe open another bar or two.
