I have travelled to many hotels in many countries but I can say that the Pezula gave the best overall service I have ever experienced at a hotel! The staff are extremely attentive, accommodating, friendly and super willing to help. Plus the resort is beautiful and the food is wonderful. Definitely a must-visit if you are planning a trip to South Africa!!

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is located on a hilltop on the outskirts of Knysna. You certainly need a vehicle if you are staying here. The views are great. Valet parking was complimentary. As Hhonors gold members we were luckily enough to be upgraded to a Grand suite. The room, all we could say was wow. Seriously, I think it was the nicest suite we’ve ever stayed in! Huge bedroom with a balcony, a walk in closet, a big bathroom with a bath, walk in shower, twin sinks etc. A spacious lounge area with a further balcony, a dining area with a table set for 6, a small but well equipped kitchen plus a half bathroom in the entrance hall. Great views over the golf course and the ocean in the distance. Spectacular. The staff we came across were all very friendly and professional, from the front desk to the valet and the wait staff. However whilst all the staff here are excellent, they are rather let down by the kitchen. At breakfast we found they often ran out of several of the hot food offerings. In fact on neither of the 2 mornings we had breakfast could we actually put on our plate what we wanted, basic things like scrambled eggs of bacon were gone and not just for a minute or two. For a hotel of this standing it really wasn't good enough. We also eat dinner in the hotel both evenings, the first night dinner was a little slow in arriving but we were given a few tasters whilst we waited so it wasn't perhaps so noticeable. However the second evening it was a ridiculously long wait to get food. Other diners simply got up and left without eating and whilst complaining, as it had taken so long and as we looked around it seemed everyone was complaining. Poor Alwyn, who was really friendly and efficient himself, just seems to run around apologizing to everyone for things that aren't his fault. We really felt sorry for him. From the outside it's pretty clear that it is in the kitchen where the problem is, someone is clearly not up to the job? At the end of the day, the restaurant here isn't even that large so should be easily managed. It was a shame to see the poor staff getting so much grief for something out of their control. Another member of staff we must mention, Amanda was also really good and friendly, along with another lady whose name sadly escapes me. Aside from the slow service, both the drinks and the food are very reasonably priced and the food is good when you do eventually get it. The restaurant and the pool area both enjoy gorgeous views down to Knysna and the pool area has lots of loungers available, however the pool has a black water(?) look to it which was a little odd and not so inviting. It must be down to darker tiles I presume. Despite the issues with the restaurant we really enjoyed our stay here & look forward to returning. I am certainly happy to recommend it as a luxury stay on the Garden Route.

We were driving the Garden Route and booked to stay here for 2 nights, but it just wasn’t enough. We wish we could have stayed at this hotel for so much longer, it was absolutely beautiful. From the lobby, to our suite, to the breakfast area, everything about this hotel said luxury and comfort at it’s finest. Our suite had the most beautiful view, as did the breakfast area and it was a dream to wake up every morning and see Knysna in all it’s glory. Going down for breakfast every morning was one of our favourite parts! To top it off, the staff were just the best, especially Alistair (the lovely concierge) who answered our endless questions, gave us the best recommendations, always ensured we had fresh water bottles in our car and was just always smiling! He really ensured every detail of our stay was perfect. It was incredible to stay at this wonderful hotel and we hope to come back some day for a longer duration!

By far the best experience I’ve had on one of my BMW Media Launch Trips. Everything about the place is amazing, the staff, the cleanliness (I mean didn’t even find a spec of Dust in my room, besides the Dust I brought in 🤣) The quality of the food is excellent. Staff are friendly and always have a smile on their faces. I’m actually thinking of coming down here with my girlfriend the way this place is so outstanding. Props to Conrad Pezula!
