Pimalai Resort & Spa is located on the southern tip of Koh Lanta, far from the north’s commercial buzz. Here the buzz comes from cicadas inhabiting dense tropical vegetation, where contemporary Thai-style rooms and villas nestle into the hillside. Rich orange, pink and lime green Thai fabrics complement dark teakwood flooring and rattan curtains, and throughout the property, pagodas and infinity pools conjure tranquility. At the base of the hills, a wide swath of white-sand beach leads to the Andaman Sea.

This was the last stop on our island tour & it was our joint favourite (along with Rayavadee in Krabi) You arrived via a 45 minute private speedboat onto a floating pier which was quite fun! The deluxe rooms were lovely as were the terraces with a dappled sea view, everything you could need. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you had mobility issues as there were a lot of steep staircases, however they had a very efficient buggy service which went all around the resort & would even give you a lift into the village for 150 baht each way from the lobby. The upper infinity pool was simply gorgeous with views over the whole coast, happy hour at the Heritage bar located high above was 5.30pm to 6.30pm, just in time to enjoy the sunset which was stunning, we saw the naughty monkeys around this bar too! The breakfasts were really good & the service in all the restaurants was impeccable. There was even a buzzer on your beach lounger to call for service, drinks & lunch, complementary iced water & fruit sticks were also brought around frequently. The beach itself was gorgeous with pale, soft sands & warm, calm waters. I must mention the landscaping & beauty of the whole resort, it was like a tropical paradise, the gardeners never stopped working. The Pimalai app was really useful & they responded to the live chat very quickly, I used it to request buggy rides & to book restaurants. The only thing that I believe needed addressing was the lower infinity pool, the step into the pool was very deep & I watched many people struggling to get in & out. Also, the pool itself needs a refurb particularly in the jacuzzi & children’s section as there were uplifted tiles & a lot of unbecoming grime. I would also advise the hotel to do a new map of the resort with all the shortcut staircases on it as we were walking around in circles without a clue! Don’t let these small things put you off though as I would return in a heartbeat, it was heaven.

We spent a few nights at Pimalai Resort at the end of our three-week trip around Thailand, and it was the perfect way to finish an already incredible holiday. From the moment we arrived, everything was outstanding. The setting is absolutely stunning, and the attention to detail throughout the resort really sets it apart. We stayed in a pool villa, which was luxurious with breathtaking views—waking up to that scenery each morning was unforgettable. The only minor downside was the occasional visit from some rather cheeky monkeys, but it honestly added to the unique experience! We made a point of dining at all of the restaurants during our stay, and every single one was excellent. A special highlight was the beach BBQ—delicious food in a beautiful, relaxed setting right by the sea. Evenings at the Heritage Bar were another standout moment. The sunsets there are truly unforgettable and made for the perfect way to unwind after a day in paradise. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, personable, and always ready with a genuine smile. Their level of service made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay. Without a doubt, this is one of the best places we have ever stayed.

Fabulous hotel that fully deserves its awards and high ratings We stayed in a beach pavilion suite, which was perfect for our family, beautifully appointed with direct beach access and a pristine beach. Transfers from Krabi seemed effortless and well organised. Buggy service and room service was prompt. Food and drinks are executed to a high standard throughout, we particularly enjoyed the flexibility to order in-room from all menus. We liked that the Thai food was not unduly watered down for tourist palettes. Good fitness centre, and the tennis, pickleball sporting facilities were a highlight that we enjoyed everyday. We also enjoyed the infinity pool and free exercise classes. The sundowner happy hours were also a daily highlight and we loved the overall relaxed, elegant, uncrowded vibe of the hotel. Everything felt luxurious without being over the top. We appreciated the creativity and attention to detail in small things like the breakfast newspaper-menu, the pillow mist keepsake, the goodbye messages. It is clear that the hotel is run with considerable thought and care Thank you to the hotel management and staff. We would love to return

Me and my boyfriend went to Thailand last year for a travelling in luxury type holiday. We booked this hotel through Trailfinders Travel agents & it was the most amazing place I have ever visited, likewise for my boyfriend who is well travelled also. There are a handful of restaurants around the hotel, with a spa and bar located just a 3-5 minute walk away from the hotel. The entire experience was just the perfect way to end our holiday in Thailand. We had a beach room which was unreal, the outdoor shower, the beach, the food, we had a BBQ on our front courtyard overlooking the beach which was very big, yummy and excellent service. I’m so pleased that we got to experience Pimalai and we will most definitely return. I would even go for a honeymoon/wedding! I would highly recommend to couples, there was also some families around who have been travelling around, a solo trip or anyone looking for a peaceful holiday with good food, good views and great service!

Our second visit to the Pimalai, this place does not disappoint. Everything is super special, staff are brilliant and very friendly. Our room was spectacular and very spacious. Breakfast had so many choices and to cap it all the complimentary transfer is a great touch. Can’t wait to return again.

The Pimalai Resort and Spa, in Ko Lanta was a fabulous place to relax. Our One bedroom pool villa was exquisite. It overlooked the Adaman sea and was breathtaking. The accommodations are very spacious and can sleep two couples rather comfortably if anyone is looking to cut costs. The Thai staff was very friendly and helpful. The cuisine was up market and delicious! Great spa, beach, pools, water sports, land sports, and restaurants.
