Pimalai Resort & Spa in Ko Lanta, Thailand

Pimalai Resort & Spa is located on the southern tip of Koh Lanta, far from the north’s commercial buzz. Here the buzz comes from cicadas inhabiting dense tropical vegetation, where contemporary Thai-style rooms and villas nestle into the hillside. Rich orange, pink and lime green Thai fabrics complement dark teakwood flooring and rattan curtains, and throughout the property, pagodas and infinity pools conjure tranquility. At the base of the hills, a wide swath of white-sand beach leads to the Andaman Sea.

Lounge on a daybed on the shores of an azure bay and work up an appetite for lunch, a chicken salad sandwich with an Asian twist of pakchoy, lime and sweet chili dressing. Board a boat bound for Koh Lanta National Marine Park, whose rocky cliffs are home to mammoth monitor lizards and curious macaques. Hike in undisturbed wilderness. Return to the resort for a sundowner perched high above Ba Kantiang Bay.

From personalised pick up service to every detail thought through on the grounds of the beautiful Pimalai resort. Secluded beach provides you with the privacy, friendly staff makes sure you’re taken care of while enjoying this gem of Ko Lanta. Selection of food is vast and may please every member of the family, even the baby menu is available in the restaurants. Infinity pools are clean and the bar serves variety of drinks. It’s a family friendly hotel and kids are very welcome here. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Spa is very rejuvenating, staff is incredibly helpful and professional. Nature here is spectacular and very well looked after. The views are breathtaking. Looking forward to coming back to Pimalai.

Pimalai is one of the best resorts. Staff become great friends because they are highly attentive and friendly. At their NYE gala I was about to reach out for one of their hors d'oeuvres when a waitress came and told me I couldn't eat it because I am allergic to wheat. It was absolutely phenomenal that she even remembered and cared to say something. Food is great, pool service is great, staff are wonderful. Special shoutout to Pan, Mahsa, Namphung and Mohyu (I hope I got that right! Basically everyone at the lower pool, Rak Talai, and Spice & RIce.) Hotel has free wakeboards and canoes which is really nice. Private beach, which is also lovely. It's very easy to book excursions from the hotel. There are quite a few convenience stores a short walk from the resort and also other cafes very close by on each end of the beach so it is not totally isolated (which is nice!). There's just enough things to do here while still feeling like secluded.

The Pimalai Resort has much to offer in the form of beautifully appointed, spacious accommodations as well as excellent restaurants, a beautiful location on the beach and plenty of options on things to do. We particularly liked the breakfast buffet and the beach-front restaurant. The swimming pools were amazing. The Banyon Tree Cafe near the upper pool was fantastic. The property is immaculately maintained. The activies staff is friendly and helpful in arranging activities. All staff at the resort are friendly and accommodating to your needs. The spa was nicely arranged to provide for an experience that was relaxing and private. Services from spa staff were excellent. We spent 4 nights here and felt like we could have stayed for weeks. The service and amenities at this resort were excellent in every regard.

This is the definition of pampered luxury resort! An amazing location by the sea, with villas scattered on the slopes of the forested hill that makes this resort. There was so much intimacy, while in the same time we found there all we needed: a top notch spa, infinity swimming pool, excellent beach with lots of nautic sports options and beach bar, three restaurants, many activities and trips organized by the events manager, etc. On the top of everything the OUTSTANDING service provided by all staff. Therefore, everything was faultless! I totally recommend this place, and shouldn't it be so far from Europe, I would definitely come back again and again ...

Pimalai is much more than a beautiful resort on a beautiful island as it offers a unique combination of extraordinary core attributes. First the incredible preserved nature, the large rainforest with the units spread across the hill facing the sea, the beautiful and secluded beach always clean ,the breathtaking views of the surrounding bays, the interior design of the room, the variety and top quality of food across the 5 restaurants, the amazing feeling of space and privacy everywhere in the domain that is something so rare in other resorts, the quality of the sea excursions to untouched islands, the absolutely exquisite spa but above all the quality of the people taking care of you with this unique way of welcoming you with warmth and a sense of making your stay something extraordinary. We came back to Pimalai after 2 years as we stayed last year in the Seychelles in the island of Felicite. What a delight to be back to Pimalia with a welcoming drawing on our bed made of flowers, white wine in an ice box waiting for us and the staff welcoming us back. It is impressive to see how consistent is this sense of caring for the guests across ALL employees and this must be the result of extensive training and development across all levels of staff to get to this friendly, efficient and respectful customer service. This place has a story worth reading with its general manager creating and running it for 17 years with a clear vision of what he wants Pimalai to stand for while incorporating preservation of the environment through sustainibility solutions . Congratulations to him and his team for their constant pursuit of perfection making our stay at Pimalai the highlight of our one month trip through Thailand. Gabriele and Olivier Tena
