A fabulous stay at the Lawana

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 17 hours ago

We were originally due to stay at the Anantars Bophut but were transferred to the Lawana and absolutely loved every minute of our stay there. We had a pool access room which was just amazing as the pool was a decent size for doing lengths or just chilling in. We were dubious about its location when booking but it is really convenient for all areas and not too pricy either (a short cab ride from Chaweng, Choeng Mon or Fisherman's Village/Bophut). We found the service at the Lawana to be impeccable and could not find fault with any of the staff as they were always polite and courteous to us wherever and whenever we needed them and it was lovely to be treated with such courtesy. We also loved the buggies that you could pick up and take you to any part of the hotel (a much needed relief during the v hot days we had there). We had the breakfasts at the hotel which were varied and you could order whatever type of eggs you required so they came to you hot rather than sitting on a hot plate. The pool was superb and it was just fabulous to sit there and view the sea from the sunbeds. The beach and see were also amazing - you could wade out a fair distance and the water would only come up to your knees and it was so calm that you didn't need to worry about the waves. Finally, we ate at the Tree Tops Restaurant and what a treat that was - lovely food, lovely service and a lovely evening. We would highly recommend staying at the Anantara Lawana to anyone.

Great Location ,close enough to Chaweng and 10 minutes to Fisherman’s Village. Great facility with excellent rooms, wonderful food and beverage choices, and if that’s not enough you’re only 2 minutes from the great nightlife and clubs of Chaweng.

Great Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Plunge pool was huge and the room was very private. Very easy to get to Chaweng from outside the hotel by songthaew. Breakfast had a lot of variety and was a great start to the day. Service around the resort was great and we felt very welcomed at every point.

There are significantly better hotels for the price range

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Was very disappointed with the hotel, had expected significantly more. Wouldn't book it again and wouldn't recommend anyone. Swimming in the sea was never possible due to the low tide. You should only go in with bathing shoes on the beach section, as there are many sea urchins. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right here!

Dont expect 5 star service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Very difficult to call this a 5 star service. More appropriate as a 4 star hotel with nice rooms. If you have kids please do not come here. The kids club is the unfriendliest, disengaged group of childminders i have ever met. Being on their phone, not greeting a child when they enter or even attempting to welcome them or engage with them is extremely poor. My son was looking forward to the kids club for a while.
