Located south of Bangkok in the "Land of Smiles," the picturesque island of Koh Samui is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches, temperate rainforests, and stunning shorelines. With the addition of Banyan Tree Samui, Koh Samui is now home to the "Best New Beach Resort Hotel" as named by the elite Condé Nast Traveller Hot List 2011. The resort's breathtaking exterior rises above the shimmering Gulf of Thailand amidst cascading treetop terraces on an isolated hill cove. Banyan Tree Samui boasts an all villa-resort; each generously proportioned living space impressively combines aspects of traditional Thai-style architecture with modern planning and design, such as the steep, raised rooftops, striking floor-to-ceiling windows, and its own elevated, private pool. The beautiful, expansive grounds are surrounded by the lush, aromatic foliage of the region, making it the picture perfect backdrop for every celebration of life: birthdays, weddings, romantic getaways, and everything in between.

Just returned home from our lovely stay at Banyan Tree Samui. We had a family villa with sea view and we really enjoyed it. It was clean, well mainteined, the pool was superb and the view was amazing. Location of the villa was nice and quiet, a bit walking to the activities, but there is good buggy servise, and you always get the buggy quite quickly. The walk to the beach is also nice and not too long. This was our first stay in Samui, so we did a lot of excursions to local villages, shops, night markets. It was easy to ask for a taxi from hotel and they negotiated the price in advance. The taxis we used were clean and safe. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay! The amazing view to the bay, really good selection of fresh fruits and cold and hot varieties and friendly staff. Maybe the best hotel breakfast experience ever for us! Two of our family are vegetarians and there were always a lot to choose from. We ate lunch quite often in the beachside restaurant. There the view is also really good and even though you are at the hotel beach the atmosphere is still quiet and relaxing. There is a good variety of foods and they are well prepared. Good selection also for vegetarians. One night we had Korean BBQ night, that time there were not so much to eat for vegetarians, but the show was memorable. One night we tried the Saffron. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere but the service was a bit off. There were not so many other customers, yet we waited for a long time to all service and the waitressess were a bit unfriendly. Other than that the service was always really good, friendly and the staff really went the axtra mile. I would in particular like to thank our vill host Mint. She was super friendly and helped us with the bookings and suggested us things to do. Se also made reservations to our trips outside the hotel and also suggested restaurants nearby. She made our stay a really special one! All in all I would really recommend this hotel if you are looking for a resort where everything goes smooth and you just want to relax and enjoy the holiday. I don't go back to hotels because there is some much to explore in the world, but with this hotel I'm thinking maybe going back some day.

Escaping the bitter February chill of the city for the warmth of Koh Samui was the best decision we could have made, and the Banyan Tree absolutely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the stunning views over the cascading terraces and the Gulf of Thailand set the tone for an incredible stay. Traveling with two young children can sometimes make luxury travel a bit complicated to navigate, but the villa setup provided the perfect balance of absolute elegance and family-friendly privacy. The kids had plenty of space to enjoy themselves, and having our own private pool was an absolute game-changer for relaxing together as a family. The culinary experience was another massive highlight. We deeply appreciate fine dining, and the resort’s offerings—particularly the vibrant, authentic Asian cuisine—were spectacular. Every meal felt meticulously prepared, and the staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring both the adults and the kids were well taken care of. Between the immaculate grounds, the attentive yet unobtrusive service, and the sheer tranquility of the private bay, it was a flawless experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a world-class retreat that genuinely caters to families without compromising an inch on luxury.

We returned to BT & enjoyed another fantastic stay. Wonderful location, first class facilities & extremely spacious villa. Food was excellent throughout our stay with lovely meals at both Sands & Saffron. Again though, what made our stay extra special was the staff who were so friendly & couldn't do enough for you. So some big thank yous to : Dada - our villa host for organising all our activities & making sure that everything ran smoothly. Rainer & his team for delivering superb breakfasts each day. Gigg & his team at Sands (Nueng, Poon, Ing, Bua, Aek, Prang, Jack, Nene & Garfield) who looked after us so well. The amazing recreation team of Rang, Jate, Tong, Nook, Fahat, Lang & Poon who couldn't do enough for us. As well as looking after us at the beach, they also provided many activities including kayaking, running & Thai kick boxing lessons - the latter were first class & a lot of fun ! Overall a really relaxing & enjoyable stay at BT; we plan to return again at some point in the future.

We stayed for 2 weeks at Banyan Tree Samui and it was just great. Rooms have a stunning view and are perfectly clean. All the staff members are so kind, they always have a smile and some kind words for every single guest. The Spa is a MUST! Traditional Thai massage from Massy was magic, as the massages from Pleng and Ja! Both restaurants are hilarious. Not many vegan options on the menu but on request lots of meals can be served vegan. Our personal guest host Abby was very kind and supportive. We can recommend the hotel to everyone as a truly memorable experience in Samui.💙🇹🇭

Amazing resort complex, trees, sea, birds – perfect nature just as it should be for a vacation. All the hotel facilities are great, the room is huge, spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The service of the staff is simply perfect, exemplary hospitality from the moment of arrival to departure: A personal hostess, all the team on the beach, in the hotel restaurants, in the spa, the buggy drivers, perfect maid service twice a day and small gifts every day from the moment of reception at the hotel. A pampering vacation and high-level service. This is not "just another hotel". This is a perfect choice for those who want a real vacation.
