Located south of Bangkok in the "Land of Smiles," the picturesque island of Koh Samui is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches, temperate rainforests, and stunning shorelines. With the addition of Banyan Tree Samui, Koh Samui is now home to the "Best New Beach Resort Hotel" as named by the elite Condé Nast Traveller Hot List 2011. The resort's breathtaking exterior rises above the shimmering Gulf of Thailand amidst cascading treetop terraces on an isolated hill cove. Banyan Tree Samui boasts an all villa-resort; each generously proportioned living space impressively combines aspects of traditional Thai-style architecture with modern planning and design, such as the steep, raised rooftops, striking floor-to-ceiling windows, and its own elevated, private pool. The beautiful, expansive grounds are surrounded by the lush, aromatic foliage of the region, making it the picture perfect backdrop for every celebration of life: birthdays, weddings, romantic getaways, and everything in between.

It is my first time to travel to Samui. The view and food there was wonderful. And the spa in Banyan tree Samui is really great. It helps release all my stress out.

The layout of the villas was exceptional with most being invisible from each other and from the narrow twisting roadways which are traversed by all on little golf type buggies. Walking is discouraged and waiting times were generally 3-5 minutes ( a max of 8-10 would be most unusual) A truly spectacular wilderness of greenery and enormous boulders surrounded all buggy roads. The food and attention to service was without reproach and the villas were spacious , refined and very private

Amazing romantic getaway in a villa. We had a view of the water, felt really secluded and the room was spacious and well kept. We ended up spending the entire vacation on property- except for when we rented a private boat through the hotel, which was incredible and absolutely worth the expense. If you can afford it I would highly recommend it as the other tour boats were very busy and we had the freedom to go where we wanted. Breakfast buffet was busy but the staff handle it well; lovely view and great selection.

The spa experience was wonderful, the massage therapist JALLEE was extremely professional, gentle touch with strong pressure. The room was very clean and tidy, overall a very relaxing experience.
