Banyan Tree Samui

Our stay at Banyan Tree Samui was absolutely exceptional and easily one of the best luxury resort experiences we have had. From the very first moment at check-in, the hotel made an incredible impression. Everything felt seamless, calm, and perfectly organized. Our villa host was outstanding — extremely communicative, proactive, and always available, assisting us with absolutely everything we needed throughout our stay. The villa itself was stunning, with breathtaking views that never got old. Waking up to that scenery every morning was unforgettable. The amenities across the resort were excellent, and the overall level of service was truly top-notch — attentive, warm, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. Breakfasts were fantastic, with great quality, variety, and beautiful views that made mornings even more special. In-villa dining was also excellent, both in terms of food quality and service, and felt like a true luxury experience. The spa services were equally impressive — relaxing, well-organized, and perfectly executed. We also really appreciated the activities organized by the resort. The Thai street food buffet and the BBQ with fire show were amazing highlights — great atmosphere, delicious food, and very well done. Beach service was another strong point: attentive, friendly, and always making sure guests were comfortable. Overall, Banyan Tree Samui delivers exactly what you expect from a world-class luxury resort — exceptional service, stunning surroundings, and a feeling of being genuinely cared for as a guest. The only minor disappointment during our stay was the Saffron restaurant. We have previously dined at Saffron at Banyan Tree Lang Co, where the experience truly felt like fine dining, with outstanding food and excellent service. Unfortunately, our experience at Saffron Samui did not live up to that standard. While the food was good and the staff polite, it did not feel like fine dining, especially for a restaurant that requires a dress code and positions itself at a Michelin-aspiring level. Despite the restaurant being almost empty (only two tables occupied), it was difficult to get the waiter’s attention, for example when asking for wine refills. Our table remained visibly dirty with sauce for most of the evening, and in the end we had to clean it ourselves. Compared to our experience in Lang Co, there is clearly room for improvement. Considering all of this, a bill of nearly USD 200 felt quite high for the overall experience. That said, this single issue does not take away from what was otherwise an outstanding stay. Banyan Tree Samui is a truly exceptional resort, and we would gladly return.

My hot stone massage with Pleng was absolutely lovely. She has a calm, caring touch and great technique. The treatment was relaxing from start to finish, and I left feeling completely rejuvenated.

We stayed 12 nights and could not find any fault at all. The service, staff and attention to detail is incredible. All staff were special but I’d like to specifically mention Abby who looked after our every need, nothing was too much effort. And Tong who is an amazing Thai Boxing coach who made every session very enjoyable, but a great workout at the same time.

We had a wonderful stay at Banyan Tree Koh Samui. The staff was absolutely outstanding – truly top class (A+), especially Anna and Rainer, who made our experience extra special with their kindness and professionalism. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and high quality, and the location is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. However, we would only rate the villa 3 stars, because the paint in the whirlpool keeps peeling off (this happened repeatedly, just like in 2025). After using it, we had black paint stains on our back and arms, which were very difficult and time-consuming to scrub off.

My family and I spent a few days at the Banyan Tree in Koh Samui and it was nothing short of excellent. Prior to arriving, given the length of time since opening; my key concerns were whether there would be evident wear and tear of the facilities and resort, however, the Banyan Tree facilities were top tier and it is impossible to tell how long the resort has been established as it is so well maintained. The villas are luxurious and large, with plenty of space to cater for families. Each villa has a dedicated host who is easy to reach via WhatsApp and helps to schedule meals, activities and is a point of contact for queries. Each and every colleague at the Banyan Tree greeted us kindly and enthusiastically which is an asset to the brand. The small downfall - but by no means did it takeaway from the trip - is that the buggy service can take between 5 - 15 minutes and as the resort is located in the cliffside, it is difficult to walk the routes. Further, the attention to detail from some of the kitchen staff was somewhat disappointing, as several orders were not delivered as requested. Overall, I would highly recommend Banyan Tree for its luxurious villas, stunning ocean and jungle views and brilliant hospitality.
