Banyan Tree Samui in Koh Samui, Thailand

Located south of Bangkok in the "Land of Smiles," the picturesque island of Koh Samui is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches, temperate rainforests, and stunning shorelines. With the addition of Banyan Tree Samui, Koh Samui is now home to the "Best New Beach Resort Hotel" as named by the elite Condé Nast Traveller Hot List 2011. The resort's breathtaking exterior rises above the shimmering Gulf of Thailand amidst cascading treetop terraces on an isolated hill cove. Banyan Tree Samui boasts an all villa-resort; each generously proportioned living space impressively combines aspects of traditional Thai-style architecture with modern planning and design, such as the steep, raised rooftops, striking floor-to-ceiling windows, and its own elevated, private pool. The beautiful, expansive grounds are surrounded by the lush, aromatic foliage of the region, making it the picture perfect backdrop for every celebration of life: birthdays, weddings, romantic getaways, and everything in between.

Supreme facilities and resort amenities take Banyan Tree Samui to the highest peaks of luxury and elegance, while offering an unparalleled experience every member of the family can enjoy. A daily Kid's Club offers age and size appropriate activities for children aged 4-12 years, including Thai dance classes, supervised outdoor activities, and arts & crafts. The entire resort is outfitted with wireless Internet, so whether you need to buckle down in a Boardroom or schedule dinner reservations, you are never too far from everything you need to get your work done in the safety and comfort of Banyan Tree Samui. Or, if you choose to unplug and leave work behind, take a relaxing turn in the yoga room. This hotel is laying at a very beautiful bay, surrounded by stones like at the Seychelles! The view to the sea is very impressing and the water of the sea is colourful, turquoise. There are many villas with pools of their own. The support of the guests is grand! The stuff is working like a great family and the guests are included to this family! The breakfast is delicious with very different types of tastes.

Just spent 4 days at the Banyan Tree and was pleasantly surprised as I had seen some bad reviews, The service was excellent and the staff spoke fairly good English, which is a plus in this part of the world. No hesitation in recommending a stay here, if you enjoy a tranquil setting and nice surroundings.

The resort, staff and service all exceeded our expectations for our Honeymoon. Every staff member went above and beyond to make our trip one that we will remember forever. Highlights included: - Private pick up and drop off service to the airport in a luxury van equipped with WiFi and ice water. - Dedicated 'Vila Host' that you can contact 24/7 from the mobile phone given to you by the resort for the duration of your stay - Daily turn down service of the room which was invisibly scheduled while you are out of the room. This included a local organic snack, incense and mood lighting/music - Buggy service throughout the resort available within minutes of making the request The resort, service and people make Banyan Tree a must for anyone looking to find luxury, fine dining and privacy should look no further. In particular thank you to our resort host Kik who made our stay that much more pleasurable.

My family and I stayed in Villa H03 for two nights. I had requested this villa as we stayed there previously and the hotel obliged. The service is excellent even by the standards of a country which is known for its good service. Location: 20 minutes from the airport, at the end of a peninsula at the south-eastern corner of Samui. Transport to the airport by hotel shuttle was very comfortable. The Banyan is secluded and surrounded by jungle and the sea. The location is beautiful. From the top of the mountain where H03 was one could see the clear blue water and what appeared to be corals. Facilities: there is a private beach with clean water. No flotsam. The spa is very good, though pricey as one would expect. The gym is well equipped. F&B: breakfast at the Edge had a good spread, Western and Thai. Stay away from the Chinese food, which was not really up to par. The sushi was also not the best. As this is the only breakfast venue it can get crowded. The Saturday barbeque buffet was generous and generally quite good. The Thai restaurant Saffron is also good. We have dined in the Saffron in Bintan, Phuket and the Seychelles. This one is probably the best. The portions are quite generous, even when marked for a single person. All in all, worth a visit. We would return and definitely would recommend this hotel.
