Banyan Tree Samui

Our first time visiting Thailand and particularly Koh Samui was not let down by the Banyan Tree. The Villa’s are amazing but what trumps it all is the fantastic staff. Particularly Mint our host, along with Golf, Anna, Pong and Poom. They make your stay special, nothing is a problem, and they are super friendly. During our time the main pool was closed but the private beach was great and we never felt it was over crowded. For the price of what we paid, we felt it was excellent. We had a lesser service for a higher price when visiting Maldives on a previous holiday. Yes, maybe a wider food option would be good but we felt Saffron was excellent, and it is highly recommended to get out and about in the evening to sample the excellent restaurants on Koh Samui, only a short and a very cheap taxi ride. Maybe more could be organised each night for those wishing to say on site although they do organise BBQs albeit once a week. Cleanliness was never an issue and the staff were constantly ensuring our room was clean.

Banyan Tree is a genuinely lovely resort. The location, accommodation, and staff are superb, and it's a wonderful place to unwind. That said, a handful of things kept it from being effortless, and I'll share them in the spirit of helping future guests and the resort itself. 1. Getting around. The trade-off for a secluded villa is that breakfast can be a 20-minute walk away. The resort solves this with a buggy service — call, and friendly staff arrive within about 15 minutes. It works well, but I don't love waiting, and I'd have preferred a bit more autonomy. Guest e-scooters, or even a bike, would let people come and go on their own schedule. 2. Orientation. I was never entirely sure what the resort actually offered. I don't recall a proper welcome briefing, and the on-screen facilities menu on the TV wasn't especially clear. A short orientation upon arrival or a simple printed guide would go a long way. 3. In-room dining. Ordering food to the villa is more of a production than it should be: switch on the TV, find the in-room menu, scan a QR code, download a PDF to your phone, then call to order. Either a single QR code on the desk that opens the menu directly, or a printed menu, would make this painless. 4. A way off the resort. After a full day inside, come evening you can start to feel a little cooped up and ready for a change of scene. We certainly did. Grab cars are readily available and cheap. None of this outweighs how relaxing and well-run the place is. But small improvements to getting around, getting oriented, ordering food, and getting out would take it from very good to exceptional.

We stayed at Banyan Tree Samui for five nights, and overall, it was an amazing experience. The highlight of the resort is its secluded, tranquil beach. The water is calm and serene, creating a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere while still offering a great variety of beach and water activities. Another major highlight was the evening entertainment—the cultural Thai dance performance and the fire show were both fantastic and made our evenings truly memorable. Throughout our stay, the entire team was ultra-courteous and attentive, ensuring we felt well looked after at every turn. A few constructive points where the experience could be further elevated: Dining options: Having only two restaurants on the property felt limited for a five-night stay, and the dining choices became somewhat repetitive after the first couple of days. Breakfast selection: The breakfast spread would benefit from incorporating a broader selection of cuisines to cater to different tastes over multi-day stays. Medical care: Having an in-house or regular visiting doctor on-call would provide valuable reassurance in the event of an emergency. Overall, it is a gorgeous property with exceptional staff and a wonderful setting. With a few enhancements to the dining variety and on-site medical accessibility, it would be close to perfect.

We had booked Ocean View Pool Villa for 8 nights which went way too fast because of how each and every staff cared for us. It was home away from home for you. Each hour cherished in the property to make memories. Special thanks to our villa host Nicha and 3 chefs (2 male & other female) for being the nicest a human can be. And for catering our special meals being a strict Vegetarian and that too Jain. Property & Villa: we were alloted the best villa possible view wise overlooking the pristine Crystal beach with there own small secluded private beach with wide range for water activities. Food: 10/10 & few extra if we are allowed with wide variety to choose from including all types of cuisines. THE SAFFRON ~ THE BEACH SIDE RESTAURANT & THE EDGE offered excellent food options and top notch service with excellent view of the property settled atop the small mountain. The amount of love, warmth and such humility along with the sense of helpfulness we received, right from the ground staff working round the clock to keep the property nestled in natures lap to each and every person we came across. Exceptional!! The place was perfect for any nature lover out there and for those who are searching for quite, peaceful and serene environment to immerse in their own self. We are thankful to each and every person who were there at our service 24×7. Our stay was pleasant and worth spending each minute. Cleanliness: 10/10 Value: worth spending for what other properties here have to offer. Noise level: each villa is so beautifully settled that you hardly hear any noise nearby. The Banyan Tree Samui was our home for 8 nigths and we will cherish our stay forever. It was so good that we are planning to visit the same in Krabi :)
