Stayed over New years, which was our second trip back to the Batman Tree in Koh Samui. This time the trip superseded our expectations of our last trip. We had two bad weather days out of 7 days however had plenty of things to do and relax at our beautiful resort. Highly recommend

Banyan Tree Samui welcomed us as guests for sunset cocktails in their beautiful bar overlooking the Rocky cliffs and resort . Divine setting - absolutely brilliant cocktails with REAL spirits - just superb. Would recommend to anyone really wanting to taste luxury combined with the real warmth of the friendly Thai service - lovely experience.

We came to the Banyan Tree for the evening for dinner at Saffron. You arrive via long road to reception. The hotel is quite large so have to take golf carts everywhere. We were driven to the restaurant via the cart. Looks like a beautiful hotel. The grounds are very green. The Restaurant sits atop a cliff looking over their beach. Quite beautiful.

We stayed in the Banyan tree over Christmas in a family villa and it was pure luxury. The Villa is beautiful, they have thought of everything you could possibly want to relax. We loved lying on the 'chairs' looking up at stars at night, as much as we enjoyed lying on them in the day. We also got to experience the spa and rainforest which took all our stress away. We loved the golf carts which took us around the resort. Some people complain that it can take 10 minutes for them to arrive, but they tell you how long, and they call you when they're outside so you can relax in your room or by the pool. The service at this hotel was the best I've ever experienced - cannot speak more highly of the staff. The food at the resort is good not great and is probably the weakest part of the experience. The resort is not cheap and you have to go with a mindset that you're going to pay more for things than you would normally pay if you want to enjoy it - if you do, you will have a wonderful time.

I stayed here with my family for 3 nights in December and what an experience. We always knew that Banyan Tree stands for luxury but what put them leaps and bounds ahead of the game is the service standards. I arrived early and my villa was ready. I was escorted by the villa manager Patrick ( what a wonderful guy he is ! ) and for the next 3 days we had one of the most memorable experiences. The weather was not great so we couldn't enjoy the beach as much, but then that is not hotel's fault. The only thing I will point is the taxi service which I feel was quite expensive and the hotel needs to look at alternate options too. Breakfast was good spread, more vegetarian options would have helped me, but I understand not a lot of people ask for vegetarian food. The chef made some Indian breads for us, which was a nice change. Overall great villa, fantastic service, outstanding staff and Patrick stands out as someone who knows what customer service means. Highly recommend.
