We stayed at the resort for our honeymoon and it was gorgeous the views were breathtaking, the breakfast had a nice variety of foods and the staff is AMAZING!! There are a few things that would have made me give them 5 stars instead of 4 -When we checked in i found hair on our bed covers and asked for them to be changed but the staff didn't understand and changed the sheets and pillow covers only. The bed covers were changed the next day so I didn't make a fuss. - The couch and rugs had stains on them which isnt expected at a high end 5 star hotel and no i did not bring it to the staffs attention because that is not my job, its managements. - The breakfast does not have a wide selection of halal/kosher meats - As other guests have mentioned, the AC is kind of loud and most noticeable at night Pros -The views are breathtaking, its like something you see in a magazine - The staff are extremely friendly and nice, always smiling and ready to help -Our villa host I believe her name was "Vie" was so nice and helpful and was a pleasure dealing with - Every night for the turn down service housekeeping would lay out the robes provides and light some essential oils and leave some treats next to our bed which was lovely - We ordered in room dining several times and the food was always delicious my favorite cuisine was the Thai dishes - Sam in the main lobby was really nice and helpful, we would come back just for her alone - We got a lovely passport cover as a gift on our departure which was a nice touch All in all we loved the resort and would definitely come back and i hope management takes my constructive criticism as a positive

A definite must for Honeymooners! The properties exquisite and dreamy. Your staff is very gracious but if you are expecting your personal concierge to be on it, they are not. Although very kind and gracious, they forget a lot, dinner reservations you have requested and mixing you up with other guests requests.Just a little frustrating but not a big deal. The villas are private and gives you a sense of tranquility.

It's probably a bit like enjoying a billionaire experience without having to buy your own island. It's accessible in all ways and everything is a cut above. Architecture, space planning, fittings, accessories. The staff all seem to have a PHD in delightful and competent Thai service. Food is great. And what a location - about the only improvement would be a 10 degree angle shift for the cove to reduce the effect of the prevailing on-shore breeze which can flip your menu page before you're ready.

We just came back from 10 days in the Banyan Tree, having stayed there with our 2 year old. In almost all aspects, this stay was perfect, and we had one of the best vacations ever. Since general praise is not always helpful, I will break it down. Firstly, all elements of airport pick up and check in went smoothly. The Villa was perfect, larger than we expected, with separate living-room, which was perfect for when the little one went to sleep. The whole outside area of the villa has a beautiful design, with a large pool, jacuzzi and 2 relaxation areas. It is possible to see, that a lot of thought went into the design of the layout and the interior design, and we appreciate that. We had a room without a view of the sea, but it was walking distance to the Spa, Gym, Pool and Kids Club, and a quick ride to the lobby and breakfast room. The service throughout was impeccable. The staff made us all feel incredibly welcomed, and without over-doing it, were very attentive and looked after our needs. In particular, we would like to praise our villa host Sai, all of the staff at the beach, the manager of the beach restaurant and Mimi from the beach restaurant. We were so positively surprised how child friendly everyone one was, and it made the whole trip easier and more enjoyable for us. We also appreciated, that not only the staff, but also the managers, made an effort to get to know us, and out preferences, and gave the stay a very personal touch. Regarding the food, the breakfast was excellent with a large selection and great service. For lunch, there is the Sands restaurant by the beach, where the food is generally good, but could use a bit of an update. For Dinner, there is the also the more elegant Safron, with Asian Food, as well as the Sands. We very much enjoyed the food at the Safron. In general, the food is somewhat pricey at the hotel, and our only real criticism, which we did discuss with the management, was that it always took a long time to get the food.  As for traveling with kids, we can not praise the hotel enough. Firstly, the hotel has recently built a brand new kids club, which is the best one we have ever seen in a hotel (see photos). Furthermore, there is a nice separate kids pool, a selection of kids toys at the beach, and as soon as we sat down for a meal, our little one got Mickey Mouse plates and cutlery. What more can you ask for!? The ladies at the kids club were also very nice. The only point I would raise in this regard, is that we enquired at the hotel about the possibility of a baby-sitter, and the price we were quoted was more expensive than what we pay at home, so perhaps they might want to look into that. The hotel and grounds are cleaned and looked after all the time. As for the other facilities, the beach is very nice and private, although its not the best for swimming. The Spa and treatment rooms are very nice, and the treatments were excellent, but we thought definitely over-priced. The gym is adequate.  In summary, having stayed at 3 other hotels in Samui in the past (see my reviews) I would say, that this was by far the best and I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Samui, especially with children.
