About the Hotel

The InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort sits perched on the western coast of Thailand’s third largest island, boasting views of the Gulf of Thailand and the five islands beyond. The resort’s spacious rooms and villas are designed with traditional Thai features like vaulted ceilings, ornate fretwork, and intricate, open-air sala pavilions inspired by Buddhist temples. Baah Thai Spa sits nestled on a cliff overlooking Taling Ngam Bay, surrounded by a lush forest of banyan & palm trees. The spa specializes in relaxation treatments, utilizing local tropical elements, like Thai oil, kaffir lime leaf, and Samui Island Coconut husks. At Amber Restaurant, which overlooks the Gulf of Thailand, Master Chef Tao infuses Thai classics with his own style, dishing up rich Kurobuta Pork Chops. On the beach, guests can dine by lantern and torchlight at Flames Restaurant, specializing in curries and grilled seafood. The area’s seclusion, relaxed atmosphere, and reputation for brilliant sunsets earned The InterContinental Samui the title of “Leading Honeymoon Resort” in Asia.

Donut, very good and polite at explaining details of the hotel and at doing check in in Spanish. All services until now are great.

Excellent Experience and Not Really that Isolated

Intercontinental Hotel at Koh Samui is just a Well managed hotel in a specta cular location. The hotel bar is just beautiful for watching the evening sunset. Whilst after 3 days the restaurant offer on site can feel a little repetitive, we found that getting to restaurants outside of the IC Hotel (even relying on Uber/Grab) was easy. The team at concierge made a couple of great suggestions for restaurants and bespoke outing experiences.

Beautiful!!

We spent 7 days as a family in this gorgeous resort and had the most beautiful time! The staff were all so so welcoming and helpful, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. Juke who carried our huge amount of luggage down the stairs to our villa and then up again when we left did so with a smile, amazing man! Arty, Jan and Marky in the club lounge especially found a place in my heart such gorgeous warm people as we’re all of the wait staff. Down at the pool bar each of the young men who looked after us again were so very lovely, Atom and Jon such great young guys !!! Our villa was serviced with the so much care, they even tackled our teenage daughters piles of clothes (folding them each day) lol It was a perfect way to relax, highly recommend ❤️ We will definitely be back!!

Very dated resort

Beside the view, everything feels like 1990 decor. Furnitures are at deluxe hotel quality such as Holiday Inn. There is no point that this hotel can meet a luxury tag for both service and interior. I think it does not worth for such redemption rate and high price. The service is also inconsistency, and during check out, we need to carry luggages ourself. Gym and recreation area looks like an old petrol station. Room size is oversized and has large balcony. I think after the hotel do some renovation, it could turn to a luxury resort. I will return in future when the hotel has full scale renovation.

Peaceful tropical escape

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

stayed at this hotel in Koh Samui for three nights, and it was exactly what you hope for on an island getaway: palm trees, ocean breeze, and staff who somehow manage to smile even at 6 a.m. during breakfast. The room was spacious and spotless, with a balcony overlooking the sea. The air conditioning worked perfectly — which, let’s be honest, is essential in Thailand. Breakfast was simple but fresh: tropical fruits, eggs made to order, and good coffee. The highlight for me was the pool area — calm, comfortable loungers, and a bar that served dangerously good cocktails. The beach sits right in front of the hotel, clean and not crowded, perfect for unwinding. The Guy Donut explain very well and was very helpful
