Melati Beach Resort & Spa in Koh Samui, Thailand
With nearly 80 suites and villas fashioned after a Thai village - and over half of them boasting private plunge pools - the stunning Melati Beach Resort & Spa provides an exceptional retreat. Overlooking the cerulean waters of Thailand's Thongson Bay, and with a blanket of platinum sand tracing its coastal contours, this secluded sanctuary allows guests to be swathed in luxury from behind the doors of their luxe suites. Occasional bursts of color enliven calming neutral tones, and garden swings and outdoor tubs provide delightfully unexpected touches. The seemingly airbrushed quality of unobstructed bay views works to blur the line between reality and an Utopian paradise.
The lofty lobby conceals a terraced swimming pool and the beach beyond, where guests congregate beneath cloudless skies. There are two excellent restaurants, with one perfecting traditional Thai dishes and Asian specialties as the other prepares global cuisine from within an exhibition kitchen. You may also mix and mingle at one of two pool bars, or check out the lobby lounge to explore its wine cellar. If you are looking for total relaxation, indulge in a soothing spa treatment in one of the private spa villas. An herbal steam or body wrap will certainly leave you feeling incredibly supple and rejuvenated. The resort also has a library and reading area, but if you do not fancy yourself the bookish type - at least while on vacation - then engage in the vibrant club scene just minutes away. At Melati Beach Resort & Spa you can truly have it all - an incredibly relaxing experience and an invigorating turn on the dance floor.

Reviews for Melati Beach Resort & Spa
My partner and I are on our last night in this very beautiful resort. I can't fault the rooms or facilities, however, am frustrated at trying to arrange a late check out. Want a 5pm checkout as have late overnight flight back to Australia. Requested at time of booking a late check out, asked at arrival and were told to ask again the day before check out. Asked again the following morning and again told to ask the day before. Asked the day before, and was told the hotel was fully booked. Checked online and at least 12 rooms were bookable. Questioned reception staff, offered to pay a late check out fee, and were told the manager not back until the following afternoon. Very frustrating as we'd like to go to sleep knowing what tomorrow entails. Thinking we may have to rent a cheap hotel for a few hours so we can prepare for the trip home. Pretty disappointing for an otherwise 5 star experience.

The rooms are set in a lush green environment that slopes down to the pool/beach area and are spacious and beautiful. The staff are very friendly but sometimes their understanding of English was not the best. Breakfast was a little disappointing but the rest of the meals we had at the hotel were fine. There is a little restaurant next door to the resort on the beach which has excellent food at a far more reasonable price. It also provides a taxi service, massages and laundry service that are far cheaper than the resort. The pool is a real highlight. It's large and always clean. Due to the heat it was hard to stay out of it! We really enjoyed our stay at Melati.
We had our first child-free holiday as a couple here for 18 years at the end of June, and could not have chosen better. After a manic overnighter in Bangkok the Melati Beach Resort & Spa was the perfect wind-down. Room was pleasant with outdoor bath, very comfortable bed and lovely touches like jasmine burner put on each evening and home made sweet treats. Beautiful beach view at breakfast, comfy loungers and plenty of them, and we luxuriated by the quiet adults-only sanctuary pool in the palatial lounge area when the barman brought our cocktails we ordered by phone! Plenty of beach/pool towels available which reduces baggage weight. The food was exceptional and so beautifully presented, both in the Thai restaurant and The View which had more European choices as well as local dishes. The spa treatments and massages were fabulous. We treated ourselves to a platinum card, which boosts the money you spend on it by 25% ( there are bronze, silver and gold also, depending on what you want to spend) which you can use for meals, drinks and spa treatments in the hotel (but not any poolside discounted ones - we just opted to pay full price on the odd occasion). This meant we could have treatments every day, and ended up feeling like all-inclusive. Loved the daily yoga, Tai Chi or Pilates, and although my hubby struggled a little with the flexibility (being a lifelong footballer) after some daily one-to-one yoga stretching with Sonia he's really loosened up. Together with the fabulous Thai massages we had, and the lovely full day we enjoyed in the spa, we returned to the UK feeling great. Out and about, the day boat trip on the Naga to the Marine Park was wonderful, luckily the weather was good enough to put the big sail up as we returned at sunset. Chaweng was ok at the top end of the bay - fabulous meal with views across the bay at Dr Frogs - but the main part is not great, packed, smelly, bars with Sky Sports, but you need to experience the ladyboys cabaret if you haven't already. The street market on Friday 5-11pm at the Fishermans Village, Bophut is great, lovely street food, good atmosphere. As has been said so often, it is the staff who really made our holiday. They were the loveliest, kindest people throughout the resort it is a shame to single out any, but we would like to say 'sawahtika' and 'sawahtikrup' to the lovely Sonia, Wat, Jackie, Juen and all the spa staff that helped sort out my painful hip and helped destress us stressy Brits! Amazing work and beautiful place.

We had our wedding at the Melati in June 2017 and just had the best time! The resort was amazing, lovely greenery, pool and beach were fantastic. Had a problem with our a/c on arrival and they upgraded us to an incredible villa. The staff were so friendly and were more then happy to help with any request. As for the wedding itself - Hannah and June were amazing! Anything we asked for was not too much trouble. She organised everything and we were able to just relax. From the garden resort to sunset drinks on the beach and then the buffet dinner/dancing and finally a dip in the ocean to finish the hot night, we just had the most amazing time!! The resort was 15 min from town which we were happy to be separated from - only a short drive to Bohput which was great. Great kids club, happy hours and delicious restaurant. The prices were comparable to UK so not cheap for thai prices, but we were actually pleasantly surprised with the bill at the end of the week. Just wanted to say a huge thanks to Hannah, Sonia, Nye, June and Bauw for their help and friendliness that really made our wedding and week amazing!

I stayed for 4 nights in a Grand Deluxe room, which I think it the entry room, and had a balcony with a bathtub on it! The room itself was huge, and bathroom as big as the bedroom. Very impressive. Service pool side was quick and attentive, and the food was excellent. Had a massage everyday, poolside, with Fon, she was better than my Physio at home! And I feel amazing now! It's a quiet resort, secluded, perfect for what I was after. Happy hour was twice a day, and the staff proactively asked you so you wouldn't miss out. If you want to disconnect, and relax by the beach in a quiet pretty surroundings, this is it.
