Great place to just kick back and chill out!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Great stay, friendly staff and beautiful beach. Room was spacious and had everything you need. A perfect place to chill. This resort is quite isolated from shops, local restaurants and that would be my only criticism. Generally you had to get a car to go anywhere which is a bit pricey and flagging down a taxi was not an option as there aren’t any hanging out the front. The only off site restaurant was the one next door accessed via the beach front. We had a couple of great meals there and they were well priced and the ladies who provide massages next to the beach front bar / restaurant were half the price of the resort and really good. Fortunately we were there to chill and made the most of our time there.

A great relaxing family holiday

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday at the Melati. 2 adults, 2 children (12 and 10). This hotel is great if you want a relaxing, chilled personable holiday. The staff are brilliant people who are welcoming and happy to have you stay at their resort. A special mention to Tony around the pool who made sure we were well looked after! Our children wanted to take Tony home with them, he made them feel so happy! Sunny and Sun were always happy to help with big smiles. Unfortunately, we had to visit a doctor with our poorly son during our stay. Daniel helped us arrange a taxi and advised what we should do and what hospital to attend. He really put us at ease and checked in after to make sure our son was getting better. The Melati resort is out of the way in its own quiet corner of the island. We knew this so had a pot of money put aside for taxis everyday. We used the Grab app and paid roughly 400bht each way to get to Fisherman’s Village or Chewang. This is a remote hotel, but when you get back from the hustle and bustle of the island you instantly feel relaxed. The food and cocktails are really good, but we also ate out to mix it up. Overall a great place to stay and would definitely return.

Really nice stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Our family of four, comprising two adults and two children aged 9 and 6, enjoyed a 9-night stay at the hotel in March. The experience was memorable for numerous reasons: Positives: - The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive.Breakfast was a highlight, offering a diverse selection of dishes ranging from Western to Eastern, complemented by smoothies, juices, and excellent coffee. - The pool was spacious and boasted a stunning view, adding to the relaxation. The beach was perfect for swimming, free from sharp rocks which was an initial concern. - Despite fears of mosquitoes, our stay was undisturbed, a relief especially for our youngest who is usually susceptible. - The family pool villa exceeded expectations with its large pool, roughly 6 meters in length. - The garden was beautifully maintained, walks to the reception pleasure. - Activities (free of charge) like Thai boxing added a unique touch, alongside yoga and Pilates, enriching our stay. - The hotel catered well to children without compromising the adult experience, thanks to its expansive layout. - The spa services were exceptional.Dining was a delight, with both Thai and Western options satisfying our tastes, especially at the Sea View restaurant. - Availability of sunbeds by the pool and beach ensured a relaxing time. - Our room was spacious and maintained a charming, not overly renovated look that felt sustainable. - The hotel's tranquil environment was a stark contrast to the bustling Chaweng, providing a serene retreat. - Safety was never a concern, allowing for worry-free swims and letting the kids roam freely. - Communication with the staff in English was seamless. - Although we didn’t use the kids club, it seemed well-suited for younger children. - Booking taxi from the hotel was cheaper that booking taxi outside the hotel Areas for Improvement: - The pool water affected the color of our swimwear, turning white garments yellow. Future guests might want to avoid bringing white swimwear. - While food prices offered good value, drink prices were on the higher side. - The allowance of smoking around the pool area, particularly at the pool bar, was a minor discomfort. A designated smoking area away from children would be preferable. In conclusion, our stay was exceptional, with minor issues that did not significantly impact our overall experience. The hotel managed to alleviate our initial concerns, making our vacation truly enjoyable.

Amazing Honey Moon experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Beautiful complex. Fantastic restaurants. Right on the sea front. Authentic, not boring and too modern. Lovely water features. Room/villa spacious and very clean. Plunge pool was great. Staff helpful and polite, despite English bot being their first language the effort was there. Massages cheaper elsewhere which were good, however did not compare to the experience you receive in the Melati spa. Loved it all. Thankyou for making our honeymoon so special!!!

A great family resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Melati Beach Resort. It was our second time at the resort and it was fantastic again from start to finish. We stayed in for a week in the Sala Pool Villa. The villa was spacious , clean and beautifully decorated. The rooms were a generous size and had everything we needed for our stay. The pool and Sala areas were also a good size, getting lots of sun during the daytime. Meals at the restaurants were consistently great. Good food, a fair selection of dishes and attentive and friendly staff. The beach had lovely soft sand and there was enough shallow waters for kids to play in the sea. Our daughter had a great time at the kids club. The activities were fun and the staff were warm and friendly. Many thanks to June and all of her colleagues at Melati for making this another wonderful trip. We hope to come again soon.
