Room : The ocean view from our room was unobstructed. I recalled staying in Centara Phuket where they deemed "Ocean Facing is not Ocean View"; such nonsense did not exist in Outrigger. It's not a very spacious area but it's good for two person to chill. The pool is a really small one just to soak. Unfortunately the pool was sheltered by trees so the sun barely even shine to the pool. It was a bit too cold for us. Expect just minimal sunlight. The weed and grass grew pretty quickly too - we had it sorted by informing the receptionist. The gardener dealt with the issue shortly after our report. It was soooo much neater then! The public pool is a better place to swim and soak rather than the overly tiny pool with no sunlight in our room. It was also fullmoon at the point of visit but we chose to stay in Samui instead of checking out Phangan. Well, it is also pretty from our room! We woke up super early, at 5.30am if I remember correctly, just to check if there's "sunrise view". This was our sunrise view, totally unimpressive... I'm guessing it's the weather... Spa: We went for the happy hour Thai massage session. We were greeted with fragrant pandan tea. Massage was reasonable, no fault and the place was clean. Food: Breakfast selections is alright, there are Asian and Western choices, quite a lot to pick from. In house chef is very good - try some of their plates at Edgewater! Overall: If you have a budget and can't afford super luxurious places, I find Outrigger stands in between. You can enjoy luxurious private villa with an inexpensive price tag. It's a very nice hideout for those who wants to get out of the busy streets of Samui. But do take note that it will be expensive for those who wants to go to other parts of the island for food or drinks. If you're staying here, plan your stay to stay in. Expect top-notched service, everything is well taken care of!! Nevertheless, there are free van rides to and fro hotel but just very limited time slots and spots. You will need to reserve ahead.

My wife and I spent our 5th year anniversary at Outrigger last week with the expectations of the level of service and hospitality of a "resort" and the price we paid for. After mentioning it was our 5th year anniversary we were offered to upgrade rooms but only at a discount. This was frustrating but it was only the tip of our frustration at Outrigger. (Remember were paying a ton and therefore are expecting a high level of service due to that and the fact that we are staying in a resort. Problems with hospitality: 1. Shower has no pressure 2. Not enough toilet paper or tissues even after asking multiple times 3. Missing Garbage bags Problems with Service: 1. Our suitcase with all of our clothing did not arrive due to airline so we had to buy some clothing for me, my pregnant wife and my 3-year-old daughter. This required us to use their laundry service. It was a fortune!!!! We are paying a lot as is – they couldn’t have either provided this service for free given our predicament or at least give a significant discount. 2. At other hotels in Koh Samui they offer drinks/ cocktails for free especially for an occasion. ( like our 5th year anniversary) 3. In the middle of our stay we expressed our frustration and they rudely shrugged us off. At the end again I complained of the service and how we were treated to which I was offered a measly 10% discount on one of the things we paid for. Other Problems: 1. Location sucks- 300/400 Baht to get anywhere and nothing to see in walking distance 2. Rocky Beach Bottom Line: The only service we received for our 5th year anniversary was a discount but still expensive payment for an upgrade and putting a few flowers on our bed which honestly just made a mess. You do not get what you pay for at this hotel – Not Worth the money

Firstly, the villas are gorgeous. We loved our pool villa. Tastefully designed and the pool area has enough privacy. Gets great amount of sun as well. But weather in samui can change quite quickly so do bring in your stuff if u are leaving the villa for some time otherwise they might get wet from the rain! Bed was comfy and we slept through the nights. The resort is pretty self sufficient, u can get your meals either at the restaurant or call for room service. Food is awesome, esp breakfast. Small buffet + 2 ala carte items per person which were honestly more than enough. The ocean view is amazing. There's gym, spa and common pools. Shuttle to fisherman village was easily booked and 3 hours there were more than enough. Staff were Super helpful, special mention to BMW, Pen, AEED.

This place is great! From the moment we arrived and the service we received then, has continued. We are halfway through our stay and very happy with Outrigger. Staff are amazing, they are concerned only with your stay being perfect. They are wanting to know if there is anything else to make your day special.. With the likes of Manu, Su, Bmw and the simply delightful Pen, with engaging smiles and conversation are a joy to be around. It is also worth mentioning the work done by others that you don't get to name, housekeeping, gardeners, etc. the place is quiet, spotlessly clean and a joy to wander around. Recommend the pool villa.

Had a lovely stay here, the rooms are original in that they are hexagon shaped, with their own plunge pool, and sun deck. We tended to go down to the main pools as the sun deck by our room was overcast and the water was cold, the main pool is a lot warmer. Loved our room though, and the food was great, breakfast by the sea was a highlight.
