W Koh Samui

I want to give a special thanks to Tiger, his smile and nice greetings made our holiday even more wonderful. Also I want to appreciate Andre, the food and drinks manger, always there to sort things out for us.

We stayed at the W for our honeymoon and had an amazing experience. The hospitality was exceptional! From Bunny who checked us in, to Tony who kindly drove us to our room. Michael assisted us at the breakfast buffet, which was excellent. Although the buffet is small, every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. All of the staff were truly wonderful, and the room was very spacious.

The W brand in general is getting dated, but this hotel really shows its age. I have to start by saying that the staff, in particular Michael was wonderful. The food was great and the spa was fine. All of that is exactly what you would expect from a fairly expensive resort. What was shockingly bad was the condition of the room and the property in general. It is really dated. The finishes in the room were scratched, scarred and worn out. The grounds by the pool in our bungalow were badly in need of an update and it all just felt old and unkempt. There is absolutely nothing charming or exceptional here and the rates were fairly high compared to other hotels in the area. We spent time with friends at less expensive resorts that had better rooms and more pristine beaches. Sorry to the hardworking wonderful staff at the W who tried hard to make everything perfect. You did a great job, but the property is VERY tired and outdated. We were totally disappointed. The pictures of the bungalow (which btw) isn’t a detached bungalow at all) must have been taken years ago.

Extraordinary place matched by extraordinary service. This resort is superb in every way. It has a very relaxed groove where absolutely all staff from the gardeners to the managers greet and meet you like old friends. Our room (pool villa) was appointed beautifully and was kept immaculate. The view off to Koh Phangan is spectacular. The restaurant was excellent. The variety of cuisines and the quality will satisfy all tastes and preferences. The resort is kept beautifully. The landscaping and gardens are also beautiful and what you would expect from this tropical paradise. We cannot thank all the staff enough for our memorable holiday but for their service way beyond the call, we need to single out Andre and Emily as gracious managers together with Bank, our fabulous barman, for his cocktail expertise, Leo, Tony, Peter, Michael, Noi, Budd, Piew, Tay-ya, Sud and Vivi who worked in the restaurant, drove the carts and made us delightful cocktails, for their warm and welcoming manner. It was these people that are the main reason our holiday here at W was so unforgettable.
