W Koh Samui

This property is absolutely gorgeous. The view from the lobby and the bar is spectacular. The room was spacious and very comfortable with lots of attention to details. We were disappointed that we were not told in advance that the main pool was closed for a month due to scheduled maintenance. This is something they should tell us in advance and not at the moment of check in. The beach was amazing. Service is impeccable throughout the hotel and our driver Leo gave us specialized attention and made sure to remember our names. The English level of our waitress at the restaurant was a bit limited. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. They say it’s an all villa property but the rooms are all connected to each other so it doesn’t have the private villa feeling. Overall this was a great stay and we would definitely stay here again.

First, let me say that I have stayed in over 15 different five star hotels in Thailand over the last five years but my recent stay at the W Koh Samui Resort has been the best experience so far. I stayed for a week in a one room villa with it’s own private pool that was meticulously maintained by hotel staff on a daily basis. It was a one minute walk through the resort to the beautiful beach that had plenty of beach chairs available, but also plenty of palm trees if you want to limit your sun exposure. From your Villa, you could call for a buggy (golf cart) to take you up to the main building of the hotel where breakfast was served or if you wanted some exercise, you could walk to the elevator go up 3 floors and then climb 2 flights of stairs to get to the fifth floor restaurant. I chose to skip the elevator and just climb the 5 flights of stairs to enjoy eating the incredibly delicious breakfast buffet offered each morning, knowing I had at least burned off some calories already. I should add that there are landings after each flight of stairs, which give you a respite with an incredible view.that just keeps getting better the higher you go until,,when you are at the restaurant level, the view of the beach, the resort pool and the rest of the resort is absolutely stunning. As nice as the physical property is, what really sets this resort apart from every other resort is the quality of the food and the quality of the service. This opinion is not just my own, but it’s also shared by my four family members that were with me and who have also traveled extensively in Thailand. The breakfasts are amazing; not just the variety, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation. The other meals are served ala-carte and are equally delicious. Over the course of the week we got to know the Executive Sous Chef, Bee, who’s culinary excellence was matched by her kindness and hospitality. The Food and Beverage manager, Andre and Accommodations manager,Emily, would stop at our table nearly every morning to make sure everything was not just satisfactory but perfect. And the amazing thing was that, every day was indeed perfect! This level of service and hospitality was not limited to the managers, but was instilled and exemplified by every single employee we encountered from “Minnie” and “Alinn” at reception, who were very helpful in communicating with the resort spa to request services and set up appointments to “Tikki”, who was an incredible masseuse, to the house cleaning staff and beach staff, and especially the restaurant staff, every employee was extremely kind and went out of their way to not only greet you but make you feel special! Kudos to the W Koh Samui management team for their efforts to create a special place and give guests a special experience. As I am writing this review, I have moved on and I’m now at another 5-star hotel in Bangkok. The difference in the level of service is night and day compared to the W. Even though it’s only been two days, I miss the W Koh Samui already and we are already planning our return next year!

Amazing amazing experience! The hotel is beautiful but the staff make it so much better. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure our honeymoon was memorable! Totally recommended. Special thanks to Jay for the photoshoot. Pete, Tony and Pam were also so helpful
