W Koh Samui

Before coming here, I had already been thinking about getting a photo with the iconic W sign. And, well… once I got here, I couldn’t resist taking quite a few. The sea in front of WOOBAR is genuinely beautiful, especially if you find a spot, sit down with a drink, and just watch the light and sky change. At some point, you might as well put your phone away — there are simply too many photos to take. That said, compared with the public areas, I actually prefer staying in one of the villas with a private pool. Want to see the sea? Just walk out. Don’t feel like going anywhere? Stay in your own little space and enjoy the pool. Going back and forth between the pool and the beach may sound like you’re not really doing much, but isn’t that exactly what island vacations are for? I used to feel like a trip was wasted if I didn’t visit several places every day. These days, I’ve started to appreciate the luxury of simply staying somewhere comfortable without feeling the need to rush out. For me, that’s one of the most appealing things about W: you can proudly make “no plans today” the plan.

I chose W Koh Samui for the sea views, but having a private pool with the villa was an even bigger draw. You can just go for a swim whenever you feel like it, without gathering up your things and heading to a shared pool. For someone like me, who comes to an island mainly to relax, that matters much more than fancy room décor. The sea views from WOOBAR are worth setting aside some time for, too. It’s a great spot for photos, of course, but sitting down, enjoying the breeze and watching the sea is even better than taking a few pictures and moving on. It’s the sort of place where you can slow down and stop thinking about where to go next. My advice is not to fill your days with too many activities outside the resort. If you’re out from morning to night and only come back to sleep, you’ll miss out on much of what makes staying here worthwhile. Leave an afternoon completely free and spend it by the pool. That’s much closer to my idea of an island holiday.

From the moment we arrived at the W, we we felt welcomed and knew it would be a wonderful stay The staff are some of the best in any hotel we have stayed - attention to detail, service, genuine care and accommodating. The facilities are wonderful - to have the beach right on your door step and an amazing pool was wonderful. The private beach set up is perfect - with excellent service from every member of the staff each of the days we were there. The crystal blue water, calm and views across the island were like a postcard. The food in all parts of the hotel was excellent. The breakfast included buffet and al la carte with charging options each day. Quality and freshness and variety for all seven days. The Japanese restaurant Namu, the beach grill and the room service food was all exceptional. Especially the accomodations in food on the kids menu. The rooms were exceptional - with excellent service each day even cleaning the pool villa and tidying up. The rooms were large, the bathroom was large and the outdoor area had pool, under cover and outdoor beach chairs. This was an amazing room - beach side pool villa. The Woo Bar was chill and the fire show was excellent - it had a nice vibe for a drink and relax. The gym was good, with equipment always available to use and clean and tidy. We loved this hotel / beyond all else the staff were exceptional and I would say the best we have experienced in any hotel in many countries. Thank you team W

Our stay at W Koh Samui was absolutely unforgettable from beginning to end. The entire experience was elevated by incredible service, outstanding amenities, and some of the most breathtaking views we’ve ever seen on the island. The food quality throughout the resort was exceptional — every meal felt carefully crafted and full of flavor. A special highlight was the amazing birthday celebration experience at Namu Restaurant, where Chef Daniel Franco truly made the evening feel unique, personal, and memorable. His attention to detail and creativity made it one of the standout dining experiences of our trip. What stood out the most was the level of hospitality from everyone we encountered. Every team member made us feel welcomed, cared for, and valued throughout our stay. It never felt like just a hotel visit — it felt like a genuine experience. From the atmosphere, to the service, to the attention to detail, everything came together perfectly to create a birthday celebration we will never forget.
