We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the W Retreat Koh Samui. Anya was very helpful in arranging various activities such as snorkelling and parasailing. Her recommendations and advice were amazing, even letting us eat in the kitchen and watch the chef cook! She worked tirelessly to accommodate to our needs, even providing a wonderful birthday surprise for the boys. The front office manager Alexander Lopez also offered us the excellent W service. Thank you so much.

We are frequent visitors to samui, 5 times in the last six years. We stayed at various hotels and this is the second time we stayed at the W. The hotel is one of the nicest on the isle and has one of the best beach for any resort. It is seven years old but is kept in good condition. Special credit to the staff at the kitchen table restaurant. Breakfast service is busy but they always keep a nice smile and have pleasant service attitude. Given the shortage of good hotel staff across Thailand, good smiley service is not that easy to find in the land of smile nowadays (sad). Well done to he team here. I'd share one piece of information and this is not a complaint per se. This hotel is now very popular with mainland Chinese tourists (50-60% of guests we came across). I know this is not something the hotel mgmt can control. Plus they are the big money spender nowadays! But you know the draw back- loud, impolite, shouting Chinese language at the nice hotel staff, don't follow rules, take all the free ice cream etc. Attached this pic of one of them climbing onto the W sign, which clearly says "DO NOT CLIMB" We would very much like to come back for a third or forth visit. But this group of guests is making us think twice.

This is a GREAT hotel in Ko Samui. Its view is simply one of the best in all of the island. The swimming pools, the lounge, restaurants and its great service is just as good as any of the very best W hotels out there. My only complaint is that it is priced as if it were a Mandarin Oriental or a higher class hotel which it isn't. It is a W property and it is great, but $400 a night it simply is not right. I only used it for a day and I found nice accommodations elsewhere in the island, perhaps not W, but nothing amiss for almost $300 less. Now if someone likes to pay that, I guess it isn't W's fault, then again the property wasn't full.

We love Sip bar as it is situated on the beach with privacy bar atmosphere. The drink is exceptional and the decorations is top notch. Worth the try! Keng the bartender he is such an accommodated person. All staffs are very friendly and provide us with best service. It's always a pleasure to visit this place and can't have enough of the W experience but I guess I can't do it often as the $$$ is relative high compared to other place.

We were really looking forward to staying at W Koh Samui this year after staying at the W Maldives last year. We are W Hotel fans but how do I put this...there is no comparison between these two resorts and our stay here was a big let down for us! The W Koh Samui is a very well maintained hotel with breathtaking views - no doubt! The room was very well equipped (as you expect for the price) and private - thumbs up here W ! The pool area is fantastic and the staff there was extremely friendly. The most off-putting thing for us during our stay was the number of non-hotel guests coming every day to enjoy a drink at the WOW BAR or shall I say to have a photo session? We could not believe would come in the afternoon - it was soooo busy all of a sudden! It is very sunny and the seats in the shade are limited. We also stayed a couple of days at the Vane Belle which, in our opinion, was well worth the price in comparison. Used the SPA whilst here and had a great experience - staff was friendly and the massage was just what I needed. The SPA menu choice was also really good - not very pricey either! We also tried the afternoon tea which was a waste of money - Far too SWEET!! There is a lot of very sweet cakes and no way near enough savoury treats - you could not ever possibly eat all those sweets.
