I highly recommend the Mauna Lani for a beautiful, luxurious yet relaxed stay. Everything about this resort functioned well, rooms are well designed and comfortable. Dining experience was amazing and I recommend the paddle out activity.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary - and 20th visit to the Big Island - at Mauna Lani in April. This was our second visit, and we will return again this November. Mauna Lani is now our resort of choice for its relaxed yet luxurious atmosphere and aloha. Staff, including senior management, was unfailingly friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and courteous. The new Francis Brown Club is a great addition - dedicated superb concierges, many unique inclusions and cultural events, as well as breakfast, snacks throughout the day and pau hana (sunset/end of the day) gatherings with cocktails and appetizers. The three rooms and large lanai are beautifully done and welcome you throughout the day and evening. Definitely value added. Kainalu Water sports has a broad array of experiences; sunrise canoe paddle is not to be missed. Canoe House sunset dinners were delicious with welcoming servers. The Living Culture group led by Danny Akaka brings all visitors into the ohana (family) of Mauna Lani with Hawaiian talk story, historical and nature walks, lei making/ukulele lessons and friendliness. We hope to return every year.
