The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but our experience at Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection was nothing short of extraordinary. As a family who frequently stays at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, largely because of their consistency in service, hospitality, and attention to detail, we admittedly have very high standards. A close friend encouraged us to experience Mauna Lani last year, and after our first visit, our children immediately began asking when we could return. We just returned from our second stay, and once again, leaving was the hardest part. From the breathtaking setting to the thoughtful amenities for both adults and kids, every detail feels intentionally curated. What stood out most, however, was the people. Having grown up between Oahu and San Diego, I have a deep appreciation for genuine Hawaiian hospitality, and the team at Mauna Lani embodies the true spirit of aloha in a way that feels sincere, warm, and unforgettable. For those considering an even more elevated experience, I cannot recommend the Francis Brown Club highly enough. This offering is ideal for a romantic getaway or traveling with young children, it just adds another layer of personalization and ease that makes an already exceptional stay feel even more special. What impressed me most is how thoughtfully the entire guest experience has been designed. Every offering feels personal rather than transactional. My husband and I found ourselves planning our next visit before we had even checked out. Highest recommendation. This is the kind of place your family will return to for years to come.

The venue is great to relax and the nature (birds, sea turtles at the beach) were a complimentary attraction. Since this was my first time in the Big Island, I was surprised by the number of rocks at the the beach water, felt some shoes could be provided by hotel upon check-in or at beach area.

Amazing trip! It started great with the top service with the pre-arrival concierge services. They made service we had everything we needed and very helpful! It got even better from there; with our room upgrade free of charge and without a request. So, by the time we arrived we were hitting the ground running and enjoying our trip. The services were great and very friendly staff members. Property was very clean and overall amazing. Very walkable to a ton of amenities and things to do without a vehicle. This was a fantastic first time on the Big Island and without the superb experience here at the resort it wouldn’t have been the same.

If my husband and I could give Mauna Lani more than five stars, we would with our heart ❤️ From the moment we arrived, we felt like family coming to our home 🌺 to our paradise 🌺 General Manager Pete is an absolute gem 💎 the kind of leader whose warmth and presence you feel throughout every corner of the resort. Honestly 🌼 He is amazing 🤩 And Melissa, another gem, genuinely. The care and attention they bring is extraordinary 💛 But truly, every single staff member made us feel seen and welcomed 🤗 And then there is the resort itself, the views that take your breath away, the ocean that calms your soul, the trees that remind you nature is the greatest architect 🌳🌊 and the change of scenery from jungle to ocean, from birds to the sounds of the coquis and not to mentions the powerful volcano just about 2 hours from the resort 🌋There is a sense of inner peace and strength here that feels very special 🌺 Aloha, mahalo, I love you Mauna Lani, in my memory forever 💛🌋 We will be back. This is a promise 🌺

An incredible Hawaiian hotel. The Mauna Lani is a great Auberge resort. Excellent team, beautiful hotel, close to activities. 10/10… highly recommend!
