About the Hotel

There are two ways to reach Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi. One is by speedboat from Ao Nang – the option most guests choose – and the other is by a steep trail over the craggy mountain peaks that shelter the resort from the rest of the world. Centara sits alone in a valley of palm trees on the banks of a sheltered cove. Sunbathers love this idyllic setup – the beach is long, and privacy is easy to find – while adventurer-seekers head to the Andaman Sea at the helm of a chartered boat. Rooms and villas, meanwhile, are built in a traditional Thai architectural style, with tropical pops of color enlivening an open-plan layout.

Beautiful location but terrible Service.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

Though the location of the resort is exquisite, the service is poor. My father cannot walk for long distances, and since there are no lifts at the property, the golf cart service should be efficient. However, every time we called for a golf cart, we had to wait for 30 to 40 minutes. You should increase your staff and the number of carts.

The best hotel ever

The best hotel, very friendly workers 🩷 I want to thank especially to bua,Jame,Ann and Amy at the reception 🩷 Our room was with private pool and it was amazing. The food in the restaurant was delicious and we really like the happy hour. So if you look the place to chill make a reservation to that place.

A Grand stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Centara Grand Krabi is an excellent choice of stay in the area. One thing to note is its location, it is not accessible except by boat and a trail over the headland. . Boat services are great and on time, the monkey trail is steep at each end so unless you like exercise you'll find it a chore. Some rooms at the resort require a bit of a hike or several stair cases to access - there is a complimentary buggy pick up, but worth noting that it's not a flat area if you're not very agile. Unlike other resorts in the area, it is truly a private beach given the location and access. It is one of the nicest beaches we visited in the area, much better than the beach along Ao Nang. We stayed for 7 nights and mixed our time up with visits into Ao Nang and some Island trips to Phi Phi etc, We shopped around and researched several boat trips but the service offered by the hotel was a great price, a great size (35pax) and very convenient with pick up and drop off direct from the hotel pier. Food offerings at the resort are very good and the price, while dearer than visiting town, were pretty reasonable compared to some places we've stayed. Rooms are clean and have everything you need, beds are huge, and very comfortable. Our only hit to 'perfect' is the resort is showing some signs of wear from age and the weather, plenty wood rot around railings, and in need of some maintenance in areas. Overall we are very happy with our stay.

Friendly and helpful staff. Private Bay makes it more peaceful. Delicious food also from breakfast to lunch. Nice view from room and its swimming pool.

Beautiful stay at the Centara with a Family of 4. It’s Simply Stunning

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Centara Grand is a truly stunning property, secluded and breathtaking in its beauty. We stayed as a family (children 18 & 8) for 3 nights in the Royal Villa and honestly wished we stayed longer. The Room: The Royal Villa is huge! The pictures online do not do it justice. It’s a compound onto itself. There is a large master bedroom with ensuite, double shower, spa bath and walk in robe. In the middle of the Villa is the central lounge and dining room that overlooks the 6m pool. There is also a large bedroom with 2 double beds, with its own ensuite, double shower, walk in robe and bath. In addition there is a small kitchen and pool toilet. Outside there is the 6 m pool situated on top of the resort waterfall that overlooks the bay, a day bed, 4 sun lounges and an outdoor dining area. The Resort: Is on its own secluded beach. Access is only via boat or the Monkey Trail. This is both a positive and a negative. Positive in that the resort is quiet, the beach is gorgeous and looking at the sheer mountains around you with monkeys coming down to visit is simply stunning. It’s quiet and relaxing away from the bustle of Ao Nang. Negative in that if you want a bit of bustle… you need to get a boat and taxi or walk the monkey trail. The monkey trail is easy for those of good fitness (approx under 10 mins… but my 8 yr old struggled with the steepness and steps). The pool is beautiful and has a great vibe. It’s easy to spend hours swimming and playing with the kids as there is a secret grotto and waterslide. You can also kayaking around the bay. Joe the activity manager was super friendly and always willing to help. Club: One of the perks of some of the more expensive rooms was the Club. Moddang was fantastic! She personally organised transfers for us, trips to Railay, dinner reservations and always had great advice. We enjoyed coming to the club in the afternoon to have a cold glass of bubbly and chat to Moddang, she was brilliant! Food: The breakfast was good and had variety of options and cuisines. Our best meal at Centara was at Haji for Teppanyaki, followed by Suan Bua for traditional Thai. The beachfront restaurant was ok; but not amazing. I would highly recommend the Centara for anyone looking for beautiful and interesting stay on Ao Nang
