Good location but not 5 star

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

Nice hotel. But not 5 star. Smooth check in with friendly doormen. The reception team were quick to go through amenities, however we did not feel we have enough time to ask questions or feel welcomed. Very small lobby area that was convenient but not particularly inviting. The hotel location is excellent near Bukit Bintang. TRX and Pavillion malls. Well connected to local amenities. We stayed in a suite which was well serviced, however the room lacked decor and the bathroom were basic. The suites need updating and refurbishment as they were tired and signs of mould, cracked paint and general wear and tear. We always enjoy breakfast but found this to be terrible in this hotel. Restaurant staff as miserable, inattentive and we felt like a burden for any request. The food was cold, undercooked and of you attend later in the morning (9am) then there is barely anything there as items are not restocked. Cooked meats were cold and the chicken sausages were served frozen on one day which we complained about. Overall good location, good potential but definitely 3-4 star at best.

Lovely Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur for 2 nights in a Club Lounge access room, and it was truly a memorable experience. The stay started on a high note with a personalized check-in at the Club Lounge, which even has its own private lobby entrance—such a nice touch that immediately makes you feel exclusive and well taken care of. The staff throughout my stay were consistently warm, attentive, and professional. One of the biggest highlights was definitely the Club Lounge experience. With five meal presentations daily, it felt like a full culinary journey. The breakfast spread was slightly limited compared to the main restaurant, but it was thoughtfully curated and more than sufficient—plus, it was a peaceful alternative to the usual breakfast crowd (no need to battle for roti canai!). The light lunch offerings were simple yet satisfying, with salads, sandwiches, and soups. I didn’t manage to attend afternoon tea, but the evening cocktail session more than made up for it—it was essentially a mini dinner with an impressive selection of alcoholic beverages. Supper was another pleasant surprise, where I could still enjoy lighter drinks like a Malibu Sunset—absolutely delicious. A special shoutout to Mr. Bahar from the Club Lounge team, who was one of the most attentive and professional staff I’ve encountered. He would refill drinks without being asked and crafted some of the best cocktails during my stay. Truly exceptional service. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. While slightly dated, it had a very homey and cozy feel. The white marble bathroom was beautiful, complemented by luxurious Diptyque amenities. The butler team also went above and beyond with turndown service without being requested, and even surprised me with a birthday cake, which was a lovely and thoughtful gesture. I didn’t get to use the gym or pool facilities, as part of the pool and jacuzzi were under maintenance during my stay. Late check-out wasn’t available due to high occupancy, but the team kindly allowed us to continue using the Club Lounge until it was time to leave for the airport, which I truly appreciated. Overall, this remains one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Kuala Lumpur. Exceptional service, a fantastic lounge experience, and thoughtful touches throughout. I will definitely be returning.

5 STAR CLUB LEVEL STAY

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

5pm arrival used the club entrance at check in. Booked 2 club rooms for 3-night stay, from start entire staff is enthusiastic and eager to help. We received two large club rooms on same high floor, rooms spotless two times per day housekeeping with full turn down in evening. Club lounge is over the top, food presentations great with plenty of variety plus club staff very competent. Marriott platinum gave us option to have breakfast at main hotel buffet for no extra charge, the restaurant must be one of the largest in RC chain and buffet is a memorable feast. Plenty to do nearby, you can walk the entire way indoors to Petronis tower from Pavillion shopping center next door and there is no shortage of restaurants. I asked front desk at club for recommendations on sending laundry out, they recommended Hello Laundry it’s less than 5 min walk from hotel with same day wash and fold at super low prices. Pool is nice too, wife and daughter both used spa for treatments, staff excellent and prices again extremely reasonable. I highly recommend booking the club level room, it runs flawlessly and you won’t be disappointed.

Luxury stay? Not really.

It’s our first stay in Ritz and of course lots of expectations after hearing so much about the service and how immaculate the place is. To summarise - it is underwhelming and we won’t be back I I wil

Disappointing Experience – Not What a Ritz-Carlton Should Be

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I don’t understand why the Marriott group categorizes this hotel as a Ritz-Carlton. You can stretch the definition of “luxury,” but this place is anything but a RC level. The rooms are old and outdated. The TV screens in the bedrooms look like they’re from the year 2000, with pixels so bad it’s hard to watch anything. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite that smelled musty, with old furniture and dirty carpets—none of which you’d expect from a Ritz-Carlton, which should be Marriott’s premium brand. At the pool, even simple dishes like chicken nuggets or French fries took 45 minutes to prepare. Check-in was equally poor: no proper greeting from front desk staff—no “hello” or “welcome to our hotel.” They just demanded our passports immediately, even though there was no queue. I don’t get this behavior. Overall, the hotel isn’t up to standard. It needs real changes in management and major upgrades.
