Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa

I brought my kids and wife after staying 2 times previously. When we arrived the room had a terrible sewer odor. We we able to switch rooms, the rooms were not as clean as previous and outside our room there was a hose and bucket for what appeared to be a A/C leak. We took our kids to the pool which was extremely cloudy and dirty. Service was not available from the many employees stationed. Drunk people everywhere. My kids thought the pool was disgusting. Asked for towels and never received any. We decided to leave and not come back with our kids. The next issue was when we went to dinner. We had to flag down our waitress just to get attention after waiting for about 20-30 min. I ordered a steak for my birthday dinner which came out burnt and well done. Overall the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Bad Service. Unpleasant smells and dirty. Bad dinner. Dirty cloudy pool. Everything just continued to get worse throughout our stay and we decided to leave. Not how I was looking to spend my birthday.

We had such a wonderful breakfast at Estancia La Jolla! Our server Karina was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so well taken care of. She truly made our morning extra special. Amazing service!

We visited Estancia to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! Jack the concierge was so kind to help us celebrate in room and then we had the best cocktails at the bar with Phil! This mango sticky rice milkshake of a dream drink will have you coming back for sure! The bartender in the lobby bar was an absolute delight as well! Every staff member we encountered was so kind! 10/10 recommend! I can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here for one night after getting married on the UCSD campus. We arrived in our wedding attire, tuxedo and wedding dress. The check-in went smoothly. Our room was lovely, and the hotel had even arranged a beautiful fruit and champagne setup for us. Everything seemed perfect. Unfortunately, about an hour into our stay, the front desk called our room and told us that alcohol from our wedding party had arrived at the hotel. I went downstairs, where an older gentleman with glasses insisted that we needed to take care of it. We contacted our friends, who came to the hotel and took the items the front desk insisted were ours back to their hotel. Once they arrived, they discovered something absolutely ridiculous: the alcohol wasn't ours, and there was also a wedding cake. Our wedding had already happened that afternoon. We were only staying one night. Why would we be receiving a wedding cake? It turns out another wedding was taking place at the property the following day, and the alcohol and cake belonged to that wedding. None of it was ours. What makes this especially frustrating is that the front desk had plenty of information to realize something was wrong. We were clearly newlyweds, had arrived in wedding attire, were staying for only one night, and already had a congratulatory setup in our room. Instead of verifying the delivery, the staff simply made it our problem. After spending the day getting married, the last thing we wanted was to have our wedding night interrupted and our friends sent on a pointless errand to deal with someone else's wedding supplies. The hotel itself started our stay wonderfully, but the poor judgment and lack of basic verification from the night front desk staff seriously soured what should have been a very special night.
