Gorgeous Property and Outstanding Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Estancia is a special place! The property is gorgeous and so relaxing, with beautiful succulents and blooms everywhere. The grounds include many little seating areas with comfy chairs and couches and fire pits for time to sit and visit with a coffee or cocktail. It is also located in a great area-- close to shopping, beaches, hiking trails, and restaurants. I stayed here with 3 friends for a Girls Trip. We enjoyed relaxing at the pool with cocktails and lunch from The Palma Bar and Grill. Our spa treatments were incredible- I highly recommend the Honey Escape Massage! The relaxation lounge in the spa has the most amazing, heated lounge chairs where we sipped champagne after our massages. The entire staff at Estancia are friendly, helpful, and professional. The concierge, Jack, was extremely attentive and responsive. He went out of his way prior to and during our visit to make sure we had everything we needed (hiking information, spa appointments, resort credit, etc.). Soon after we arrived, we received a bottle of champagne and a fabulous fruit plate from him. What a nice surprise! The front desk staff (especially Chelsea) greeted us immediately, and we were impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. Although we used Uber, Joey and the whole valet team greeted us each time and assisted us with any questions. The staff really pays attention to their guests. The Trading Post Cafe has great grab and go breakfast items and yummy coffee drinks. Elias was one of our favorite employees at the Trading Post. Also, be sure to visit the Lobby Bar, which is one of the prettiest lobby bars I've seen with very unique and beautiful cocktails. Whether it's a girls trip, a romantic weekend, or a family vacation, I highly recommend Estancia! You will love it.

A beautiful property with an even better team!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Estancia La Jolla. The property is beautiful, relaxing, and incredibly well maintained. The location is hard to beat. Close to everything we wanted to do while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the hospitality. Every team member we interacted with made us feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to ensure our family had a great experience. A special thank you to Daniel, Cecilia, Shaughnessy, Acacia, Jack, and Kai for their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. Each of them made a positive impression and helped make our stay memorable. I'd also like to recognize the entire valet team, who were consistently friendly, efficient, and welcoming. A special shout-out to Joey and Nick, the valet team lead, for their outstanding service and the warm hospitality they showed our family from the moment we arrived. It's clear that Estancia La Jolla has built a culture centered around genuine hospitality, and it shows in every interaction. Thank you to the entire team for making our family feel so welcome. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning.

One of favorite places to stay for special occasions. Feels hidden from all the bustling. Quiet and serene. Great spa.

Great Potential but Paper-Thin walls - ruined the full experience

Grounds: 10/10 The grounds are absolutely gorgeous — so many quaint, beautiful gardens and cozy areas to sit and relax. If I were rating solely on the property's beauty, it would be a perfect 10 across the board. Staff The staff truly made my birthday stay special. Enrique and Sydney were wonderful, as was a tall, blonde young lady who worked at the Trading Post and also hosted breakfast at Greenfinch — she was sweet and attentive (I wish I'd caught her name). There was also a tall, dark-haired gentleman behind the lobby bar who was incredibly knowledgeable and made the best crisp martini. All of them played a huge part in making the trip memorable. Room Noise Unfortunately, the walls and doors are very thin. I could hear my neighbor coughing, full conversations, and unfortunately someone getting sick throughout the night. There was constant noise in the hallway — footsteps and doors slamming at all hours. There happened to be a wedding that weekend, which meant late-night activity until after 4am. This was especially disappointing since I chose this property specifically for a relaxing getaway. Brunch Buffet The brunch buffet was subpar for the price — $45 per person for very limited variety. The venue seemed understaffed, and unsupervised kids were running wild around the food, monopolizing the pancakes and hazelnut spread. Parents didn't seem to be managing them at all. Mustang & Burros (Dinner) I also tried Mustang and Burros, but it didn't go well. The chicken with caviar was burnt, and the margarita I ordered was not good. This dining experience brought my overall impression down significantly. Overall, I rate it a 2 It's a shame, because the property itself is stunning, but between the noise issues and the disappointing dining experiences, I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Outstanding

my son got married here this weekend and it was absolutely stunning. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very attentive. The rooms are . The café was handy to grab a quick bite to eat. They had a couple bars to get drinks. They had a great restaurant forbreakfast lunch and dinner. Lots of areas to sit and relax. We enjoyed the pool and the gym as well. If you’re considering having a wedding here, I would give it five stars.
