Located in the charming community of La Jolla, just minutes from Torrey Pines Golf Course and 14 miles north of San Diego, Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is a stylish retreat reminiscent of an early California ranch estate. The property - listed on Condé Nast Traveler's coveted Gold List and Hot List - pays homage to its rich history by emulating and utilizing materials from the original 1880s equestrian compound. The business center resembles the original caretaker's cottage, the intimate hotel lobby was created from the old farmhouse, and Mustangs & Burros, the hotel's rustic rancho-style bar, was inspired by the tack room. Even the restaurants reflect the old spirit in their design, menu concepts and gracious service.

We enjoyed our stay at Estancia! The property is beauriful and so relaxing and serene. We loved the gardens and whimsical atmosphere. It's very dog friendly too! The rooms on the first floor actually led out to a green space and had a small patio area-which was convenient. The hotel made sure to keep the grass clean and everything was well-maintained. It was nice having two on-site restaurants and a casual coffee bar too. What really sets this hotel apart from others is the staff and customer service! Everyone from the valet, front desk, spa staff, to the bartender were fabulous! They went above and beyond to help us and make our stay comfortable. They offered help when we needed it and were profsssional and courteous. The front desk quickly checked us in and took the time to talk about the property and help us get situated. They even gave us another drink when my husband spilled his-without asking. The spa was great too! The massage was one of the best that I've had! Most of the massage therapists there have over 30 years of experience and it shows! The spa is being renovated but it was still a relaxing experience and they made up for it by discounting and comping our services. The spa relaxation room was so comfortable that I could stay there all afternoon. I will defintely return. The only things that can be improved upon is the bedding - which could be more comfortable for a four star hotel, and that the Estate suites don't have two queen size beds as an option. There also needs to be more signage since it can be confusing navigating around the hotel. Otherwise, it was an amazing stay! The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was nice. We can't wait to return next time we are in San Diego!

We are homeowners in the neighboring community and love coming to Greenfinch Restaurant for breakfast and lunch. One of the highlights of every visit is seeing Karina. She is always incredibly professional, kind, and welcoming to our family, especially my mom and our pups. Karina consistently provides exceptional service, pays attention to every detail, and makes us feel genuinely valued as guests. Her warm personality and positive attitude create a wonderful dining experience every time we visit. Greenfinch is fortunate to have someone as dedicated and caring as Karina on their team. We look forward to seeing her whenever we come in and highly recommend both Karina and Greenfinch to anyone looking for outstanding service and a great meal. Honestly everyone from Greenfinch are amazing and courteous.

This is a beautiful hotel and great location. Our bottom level room was very dark and smelled strongly of disinfectant - we had to air it out w/AC on blasting to make it bearable. We got the AAA special for $375 do not recommend as the room was bad. The full price rooms on the top floor with balcony are nice (stayed there last time). Front desk is pleasant but never does anything if you have a complaint (happened last time too). Floor was tacky likely from wax not properly removed. If you have time to get them to move your room and negotiate a better one - we did not as we were moving our son out from UCSD.
