Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa

We stayed here for one night after getting married on the UCSD campus. We arrived in our wedding attire, tuxedo and wedding dress. The check-in went smoothly. Our room was lovely, and the hotel had even arranged a beautiful fruit and champagne setup for us. Everything seemed perfect. Unfortunately, about an hour into our stay, the front desk called our room and told us that alcohol from our wedding party had arrived at the hotel. I went downstairs, where an older gentleman with glasses insisted that we needed to take care of it. We contacted our friends, who came to the hotel and took the items the front desk insisted were ours back to their hotel. Once they arrived, they discovered something absolutely ridiculous: the alcohol wasn't ours, and there was also a wedding cake. Our wedding had already happened that afternoon. We were only staying one night. Why would we be receiving a wedding cake? It turns out another wedding was taking place at the property the following day, and the alcohol and cake belonged to that wedding. None of it was ours. What makes this especially frustrating is that the front desk had plenty of information to realize something was wrong. We were clearly newlyweds, had arrived in wedding attire, were staying for only one night, and already had a congratulatory setup in our room. Instead of verifying the delivery, the staff simply made it our problem. After spending the day getting married, the last thing we wanted was to have our wedding night interrupted and our friends sent on a pointless errand to deal with someone else's wedding supplies. The hotel itself started our stay wonderfully, but the poor judgment and lack of basic verification from the night front desk staff seriously soured what should have been a very special night.

I recently stayed at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa as a wedding guest, and from the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a wonderful experience. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff immediately impressed me with their friendliness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. When I entered my room, I was delighted by how well-appointed it was, every detail had been thoughtfully considered, & the amenities exceeded my expectations, making my stay both comfortable and relaxing. The next day, I spent time in one of the poolside cabanas and had the opportunity to explore the property. The grounds are absolutely beautiful—lush, impeccably maintained, and incredibly peaceful. The entire pool staff was exceptional, providing attentive and personalized service throughout the day. Having our own dedicated bar attendant made the experience feel extra special, and the food & drink selections were outstanding. My stay at Estancia exceeded my expectations in every way. Every member of the team made me feel welcomed and well cared for. I can confidently say that my next staycation will be at Estancia, where every need was met—and then some. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable getaway!

Phil at the pool bar was hospitable, knowledgeable, and friendly. Highly recommend, ask for him specifically.

Great location especially for parents of UCSD Students. Definitely great service from valet staff onward. No complaints. Lovely atmosphere. Although wedding time weekends can be VERY busy.
