It's All about the View
The hotel seems to be a conglomeration of buildings with differing ages and qualities. We were first-time visitors and I think we were thus placed in an older building. The room was dingy, had stained and ripped furniture, and substandard lighting. The location in La Jolla is outstanding and the view from our room was great, and it was for these two that we had to keep reminding ourselves we were paying $750+, not the accommodation.

La Valencia has forever changed our annual San Diego forever.
This hotel has absolutely raised the bar for any other resort my fiancé and I stay in the future. The moment we walked in, Ana from concierge greeted us with champagne, as well as a bandana for our pup! The front desk team as a whole did an outstanding job and also gave us treats at check in for our pup. The quality of our room exceeded our expectations, as well as how clean and beautiful the property is! All staff members were friendly and welcoming throughout our entire stay. Overall, we are counting the days till we are back at the La Valencia. A historic hotel that continues to raise the bar.

Wonderful Hotel
We stayed at The Valencia Hotel for 4 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Our vintage room recently renovated was beautiful with an amazing view over the ocean.We had breakfast every morning at restaurant Med and food was delicious and fresh with an excellent service.Staff is friendly and polite. Will definitely returned!

The best pool to spend all day at!
A few teammates and I from the San Diego Mojo Volleyball team spent the day at the pool here. I couldn’t recommend it enough. It felt like a slice of Europe in the middle of La Jolla! Mike did an amazing job serving us poolside - highly recommend the piña colada! 10/10!!

Just had a great vacation! Loved La Valencia Hotel...so nostalgic and very well done! Our room was in the West Wing with two queen beds, down pillows and crisp hi thread count sheets; it was a completely refurbished room that still maintained it's history. The staff, from the moment we pulled up throughout the very end of our stay, was friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. The grounds were impeccable and in a perfect location...on one side is the ocean and the other the village. We would definitely stay there again!
