Fabulous location, excellent staff.

We I stayed for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom, one bathroom suite with a full dining room, living room and kitchen overlooking the ocean (room 201). Great location and accommodations. The breakfast was tasty and varied, the room has a Keurig coffee maker and good quality coffee pods readily available, Cookies are made fresh daily, bottles of Kirkland water (Costco) plentiful and complementary. There’s a golf cart that you can request where staff shuttles you within La Jolla, and we used it. There were a number of room maintenance issues that we reported - all were fixed except one. Kudos to the team including Edwin (the manager), Rebecca, Jorge (maintenance) and Norma, and to those whose names I can’t remember. All were terrific!

An Ideal Stay in La Jolla

We stayed in the Superior Suite with an ocean view, and the accommodations were even better than I expected. The view is phenomenal from both inside and on the balcony. Has a separate bedroom w/ a pocket door. Bathroom wasn't large but had plenty of counter space. Also had a small kitchenette in the comfortable main room. We loved everything about our stay here! The included breakfast is plentiful & delicious with seating indoors or out on the patio with more of that gorgeous ocean view—don't walk away from your food as there are always gulls lurking nearby for the first opportunity to feast! The location is absolutely perfect. Only steps away from Scripps Park and the harbor seals at the Children's Pool & only a few minutes' stroll along the ocean promenade to La Jolla Cove. I even walked from here to La Jolla Shores & back (about 30 mins each way—with lovely views along the Coastal Walk for about half the way).

Best Sunset View In La Jolla

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My husband and I were in town for work and decided to stay an extra night, and we chose the Pantai Inn. The staff was amazing, wnd the location was perfect. We had the best seats in town for the spectacular sunset. Very cute boutique hotel - the only draw back was the incredibly small bathroom, but despite that we’ll be back because the rest more than made up for it.

Seaside oasis

The location cannot be beat! Right across the street from The park, sea lions, harbor seals, swimming and snorkeling. There is no pool though, and the ocean is cold. We really loved the inn. However, if sand gets on your nerves, I’d avoid the rooms fronting Coast as the wind blows sand onto your patio, which will get tracked into your room. For me, it was a minor inconvenience well worth falling asleep and waking up to the crashing waves.

A Hidden Gem in La Jolla

We had an amazing stay at Pantai Inn! The location is perfect, conveniently located right next to the beach, making it so easy to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming and truly made us feel at home. You can tell they genuinely enjoy working there by the way they treat their guests. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special. The rooftop was one of our favorite spots to relax, unwind, and listen to the sound of the ocean. The breakfast was also delicious and a wonderful way to start the day! Our room was small, but absolutely adorable, comfortable, and very clean. We also loved the convenience of the golf cart service, they took us wherever (within a mile) we needed to go, which was such a nice extra touch. We would definitely recommend staying at Pantai Inn and would love to come back!

“We stayed in room 208 for five nights. A beautiful spot looking across Coast Blvd to the Pacific. Private deck, full kitchen and nice small bedroom. The giant TV was a nice bonus for March Madness. Beautiful courtyard and grounds. Very kind staff. Always coffee and tea in the lobby. Fresh fruits, cereal and bagels for breakfast. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. There was a mix-up upon check in - we booked full ocean view suite thru LuxuryLink and we were originally shown to a room with no view. Quickly remedied, but since there is only one room like 208 be sure you've confirmed it if that's the room you desire. This is called a luxury property by some - it's not actually luxury if you're thinking Waldorf or Leading Hotels of the World. But it is wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. The adornments in suite weren't my taste (fake flowers, bamboo furniture) but that's v. subjective. Would highly recommend for a relaxing getaway."
