About the Hotel

When you are looking for an otherworldly escape, but are limited to trips not requiring miles of over-ocean travel, let the brand new Pantai Inn welcome you to a different side of San Diego. Modeled and styled completely to emulate a Balinese resort - from its Indonesian décor and tranquil guest rooms, to the personalized service fit for royalty - this boutique getaway is genuinely distinctive. The inn's fully restored bungalows, townhouses, and cottages are perched along the northern coast of San Diego, in the charming town of La Jolla, where the best of Southern California is within easy reach. The inn overlooks the glittering Pacific, so settle in to your spacious suite for a kicked back California experience. Separate dining areas and living rooms provide ample room to relax, and full kitchens offer convenience for stays short or long. Island essence will definitely find you in the Balinese tiled bathrooms, where hand-hammered copper sinks and soothing rain showers turn ordinary to exceptional. With these thoughtful details and more, you will find Pantai Inn to be wellworthy of its harmonious heralding.

The Perfect Proposal at The PANTAI INN!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

My Fiancée and I stayed at the PANTAI Inn in May where I proposed to her and she said YES!!! It was a total surprise for her and I would like to personally and profusely thank the hotel GM Edwin Zaragoza for working with me for weeks in advance to make it the most memorable and absolutely amazing proposal EVER!!! He assisted and advised on the flowers, vendors, venue prepping, being a part of the surprise ceremony itself to include the furniture set up on the rooftop patio at sunset and even the exact type of tequila for the margaritas!!!! He and his amazing staff assistants to include TRAVIS, ROSEMARY and NORMA absolutely set the standard for world class hospitality!!! Thanks again EDWIN….you are a Rockstar!!! The PANTAI Inn is our most favorite and Special place. 6 Stars out of 5!!!! 👍😎

Pantai Inn...Not a Good Choice or Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Yeah...no! We booked the Pantai Inn based on reviews and the "five star" rating. Don't believe everything you read or what you see in the pictures. Professional photos and lighting can make anything look good. In person, it's another story. The "inn" is dated and needs complete renovation. Our room, #222, was musty and dank. While it had a nice view, that's about it. The carpet is old, the bathroom was tiny, smaller that an RV bathroom and the fixtures are mismatched, missing or old and rusty. The good...right on the beach, or at least right across the busy street from the beach. The bad...lots of traffic and noise. The ugly...house keeping dumped a bucket of water on the balcony above ours and soaked me while I was standing on our balcony enjoying the view. For $700 a night you're better off at the Hotel Del Coronado.

Great location and clean hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We had a wonderful stay at Panatti Inn Hotel! The hotel is very clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the location is fantastic. If you can, book an oceanfront room with a balcony—the views are absolutely beautiful and make the experience even more special. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus and a great way to start the day. The only downside is that the hotel does not have a pool, but honestly, everything else more than makes up for it. Overall, this is a great hotel, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

“We stayed in room 208 for five nights. A beautiful spot looking across Coast Blvd to the Pacific. Private deck, full kitchen and nice small bedroom. The giant TV was a nice bonus for March Madness. Beautiful courtyard and grounds. Very kind staff. Always coffee and tea in the lobby. Fresh fruits, cereal and bagels for breakfast. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. There was a mix-up upon check in - we booked full ocean view suite thru LuxuryLink and we were originally shown to a room with no view. Quickly remedied, but since there is only one room like 208 be sure you've confirmed it if that's the room you desire. This is called a luxury property by some - it's not actually luxury if you're thinking Waldorf or Leading Hotels of the World. But it is wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. The adornments in suite weren't my taste (fake flowers, bamboo furniture) but that's v. subjective. Would highly recommend for a relaxing getaway."
