Reviews for Pantai Inn

A very nice mini-resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Our family stayed at Pantai Inn for Spring Break and had a wonderful experience. Pantai has a unique layout/feel to it, in that it's too big for a B&B, but too small to be considered a resort. However, it offered the benefits of both. The decor and grounds feature a South Pacific theme, with a lot of attention to detail. Nice fountains and landscaping, and a cute courtyard that overlooks the ocean. The daily breakfasts were nice with plenty of options. Not 4-star brunch quality, but certainly above par for a free breakfast. Staff was very attentive and access to free waters and soft drinks was a nice touch as well. And the location is outstanding; right across from the beach, with seals and sea lions aplenty and a nice public park to hang out in.

Wonderful location, facilities, room, and costumer service!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our little family really appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful facilities, location, and service at the Pantai Inn! Everything in our room was beautiful and comfortable. Loved the space, the sun room with the fountain outside the windows, the fireplace, the desk, the seating area outside our front door, and the fully equipped kitchen. Bedding was clean and comfortable, mattresses and pillows were just right, and we appreciated the details througout the entire suite. Except for the construction noise currently taking place in the park across the street, and landscaping crews doing their job, room was very quiet and peaceful, and perfect for ocean views and people watching. Parking was right outside the kitchen door, making unloading/loading of our things very convenient. Breakfast is your typical warm continental breakfast, but included fresh fruits and wonderful earthy teas... If you eat in their patio, remember to not leave your food unattended, because the seagulls will steal it away! In the lobby you will find endless supply of fresh drinking water and coffee, bottled water, and sodas, and cookies all included in your room fee. They also had in the lobby nice umbrellas to help you shelter from the rain. Location was not only covenient for walking to the beaches, restaurants, retail and CVS Pharmacy, but it was also safe to walk at night. Staff was so attentive and helpful, and we really appreciated Doris going beyond the call of duty when we missed our breakfast after taking a long walk in the beach in the early morning. Also, Edwin was so kind for taking the time to tell us about the history of the hotel, and helping us during our stay. The only thing we would replace in our room is the glass dining table with a solid table, but that's just a preference, and the cushions of the living room to make them firmer. Thank you Pantain Inn, for helping us collect new wonderful memories for our family! We hope to be back in the not-so-distant future!

A nice hotel, with some caveats

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

An overall good experience with some caveats. The pluses are a fantastic location, near to the beach and to all the restaurants and village attractions. The rooms are fun and unique and definitely have an island vibe. There’s a nice set of outdoor tables, and the free cookies are good. The staff are friendly and seem ready to help. The parking for us was easy and convenient, as we had a smaller car. The caveats. This place is expensive. A lot. Priced, I think, more for the location than the place, itself. The rooms are in no way posh, meaning if luxury is your thing, this will not fit the bill. The bathrooms are small and pretty standard, there are no charger outlets and such, and I had to crawl under the bed to plug in my iPhone for it to be by the bed. When I stay in places that advertise good breakfast, I tend to expect, say, croissants from a local bakery, sweet rolls, fresh granola, quiche, etc—the kinds of things that make guests feel like they’re getting a special meal, with perhaps local offerings. The Pantai is more like a better Hampton Inn—generic scrambled eggs, bread wrapped in cellophane, watery oatmeal, yogurt. There’s no gym or spa. All in all, it was a good stay; it just wasn’t over the top, which is what we were anticipating.

Hidden gem

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This place is amazing. I could hear the waves crashing all night long, without booking an ocean view room (I still had a peek of the ocean anyway). Perfect location near beach and very convenient to village. You can walk everywhere. Excellent customer service and perks makes it a good value too. Would not stay anywhere else.

“We stayed in room 208 for five nights. A beautiful spot looking across Coast Blvd to the Pacific. Private deck, full kitchen and nice small bedroom. The giant TV was a nice bonus for March Madness. Beautiful courtyard and grounds. Very kind staff. Always coffee and tea in the lobby. Fresh fruits, cereal and bagels for breakfast. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. There was a mix-up upon check in - we booked full ocean view suite thru LuxuryLink and we were originally shown to a room with no view. Quickly remedied, but since there is only one room like 208 be sure you've confirmed it if that's the room you desire. This is called a luxury property by some - it's not actually luxury if you're thinking Waldorf or Leading Hotels of the World. But it is wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. The adornments in suite weren't my taste (fake flowers, bamboo furniture) but that's v. subjective. Would highly recommend for a relaxing getaway."
