First time ever at La Paz, and was lucky enough to select one of the best hotels there, cleanliness, friendly staff, excellent beach and all the accommodations, located right in the middle of point of interest such as the best beaches and downtown La Paz. Quick check in and room service (ice, drinks, food) was very fast.

Unfortunately we arrived right before a tropical storm. I saw that one post said they were greeted with a nice drink. We didn't. Good: The restaurants were open during the storm, which was good. The room was great, a/c worked great, it was clean and spacious. They have some board games in the lobby that you can borrow. There was a lot of flooding after the storm, but they were very quick to clean up the mess. The staff in the restaurants were very nice. The hotel is very pretty. They offered us a discount at the spa due to the storm. Once the storm passed and we were able to wander and leave the hotel, we were able to go to dinner at the marina, which was great. You can walk to the beach, we had a great view of the water and pool area. Bad: It could have been that the staff was preoccupied with before the storm preparations and then after the storm clean up. So hopefully that’s what it was. We were stuck in the hotel for 2 days with nothing to do. We spend our time standing on the balcony watching the storm. All shops were closed and the hotel didn't have a hotel bar or any place to hang out other than our room. The tv remote in the room didn't work and they eventually brought us another one. There isn’t much privacy in the shower or toilet, so hopefully you are very close to the person you are sharing with. The mini bar was empty. Nothing in the fridge. We braved the storm to try to catch the market in the marina before they closed, before the storm hit hard, so we could get supplies. Which was a good thing we did. They don't have a gift shop at the hotel so we did have to walk out in the storm to get to the market. They removed all the balcony furniture, which I assumed it was because of the storm, but once it was over, I ask for it back about 3 times before they brought it, which was about 8 hours after the first time I asked. Only one pool reopened after the storm. The water toys (kayak and paddle boat) were unusable. I tried to make a spa appointment since they offered a discount due to the storm, but when I tried to book it they didn’t have anything available. It would have been nice if the resort offered useable paddleboard, kayak or peddleboat, maybe they will replace them after the storm. Also, a map of the property would have been nice just so we knew where things were. We never did find the infinity pool, but we were told it was closed anyway. I have never been in a tropical storm before, or have been stuck at a hotel during one. So I don’t have anything to compare that experience with, and hopefully we won’t have that experience again.

The hotel is drop dead gorgeous. The staff greets you with a nice drink and escorts you to a beautiful spacious room. The rooms have balconies with great views of the Sea of Cortez and a gigantic pool. There is also a lap pool that was aslo very nice. The restaurants in the hotel and in the marina were all exceptional. The best part for me was the spa. I had a spa treatment and it was one of the best I ever had. The hotels staff and Spa professionals are top notch. I would go back again and again.
